Livestreaming the Hunt - Chapter 34
Chapter 34: You are a Horrible Geezer
In the elevator, a middle-aged man was nonchalantly swiping through his phone when the elevator suddenly stopped.
The doors opened then, and a youth wearing a blue T-shirt and gray short pants entered, holding the leash of a one-meter-long wolfdog.
The middle-aged man promptly straightened at the sight of the animal, especially frightened by its single blood-red eye. Mustering his spirit, he said, “Kid… your dog looks very fierce!”
“It’s fine, sir. This is a working dog, and it is quite tame. It doesn’t bite.”
Wang Kui quickly explained, aware that most people feared large dogs.
[You horrible geezer! I would have believed you if I didn’t watch this livestream!]
[Old Kui is right. Big Butt doesn’t bite—it eats humans, though, and it swallows them whole!]
[Haha! That man really became spirited!]
[Don’t worry, sir! Big Butt is a good doggie!]

Perhaps thanks to the passively decent and honorable presence Wang Kui had gained through his Armed Police class card, the middle-aged man relaxed comfortably.
Then, Wang Kui left the building.
Evening in Shenyang was much more comfortable than the southern reaches.
Though both regions were in the midst of summer, the winds at night were breezier over here and felt gentle to the touch, almost as if someone was scratching your itch.
Pulling Big Butt along, Wang Kui left the neighborhood and started jogging on the pedestrian lane.
It was not merely to walk Big Butt—Wang Kui himself needed to train as well, as his physique would deteriorate if not improved.
No matter who it was, shutting oneself in the house would only end up crippling oneself.
Arriving on the main road just outside the divider, oncoming traffic would honk from time to time or flash their high beams. It would always make Big Butt pause, bare its teeth, and bark once, as if wary of the danger.
Having grown up in the forest as a pup, it was filled with enmity toward the steel boxes, and it needed to get used to it.
“There’s a pedestrian path ahead which more people use. Let’s take another path…
Just as Wang Kui spotted the brightly lit Joy City shopping center ahead and was prepared to turn back, Big Butt seemed to catch a whiff of something and stopped to stare straight ahead.
In the next instant, two dogs appeared at the edge of the street.
And that was not all—a handful of dogs were seen walking here and there, all of them taking a stroll!
Only then did Wang Kui realize with a start. “I just remembered… many landowners would walk their dogs in the evening around Shenyang’s Joy City. The people coming to look at dogs would also increase, which also draws a lot of people who sell dogs to set up shop around here. Come nightfall, it’s a parade of dogs.”
Never having paid attention to such things, he did not realize that at first even though he occasionally saw the dogs and their owners when he had dinner at Joy City.
There was little wonder as to why Big Butt would stop to look—there were so many of its own kind.
[Old Kui, take Big Butt there for a walk!]
[Yes! Big But look so fearsome, he would definitely be popular if he went!]
[Charge! Bring Big Butt along to show off!]
***
Everyone was spamming comments of ‘charge’ on the screen of his camera.
As such, Wang Kui was forced to bring Big Butt there.
Arriving at the entrance of the pedestrian walk outside Joy City, one could see that people with dogs filled the street between the rows of shopping centers. They would be flocking together, hands on their dogs’ leashes as they made small-talk, pulling along big dogs such as Golden Retrievers, Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, as well as toy dogs including Pekingese, Pomeranian, and Poodles.
Nearby, employees who had just finished work or youths strolling through the streets would pause to look or take a photo of their favorite dogs, making it a lively scene.
Of all the dogs, the most conspicuous was an American Bully.
It was a classic specimen that stood over fifty centimeters tall and was up to eighty centimeters long. Its coat was black and had a white belly spot as well as the typical pointy ears and tiny eyes. Moreover, beneath its ferocious appearance, it was outrageously muscular, and it looked like a little tank even if though it was just standing there.
Indeed, it drew the largest crowd.
However, once Big Butt entered the street, a little Pomeranian nearby promptly hid in a corner.
Slowly, people turned toward Big Butt, and it eventually became a focus!
They could not be blamed for looking, mainly because Big Butt was too eye-catching. The Laizhou Hong was a rare top wolfdog breed in the first place, not to mention that Big Butt’s skeletal frame, muscle, and appearance had reached perfection.
With the tactical vest and the one-eyed pirate appearance, it appeared even more imposing!
“Grr….”
Right then, Big Butt bared its teeth, lowering its body, arching its back, and lifting its tail as it slowly strolled through the street, leveling its fearsome gaze upon every dog breed, not excluding the burly humans.
It was searching for any potential threat toward Wang Kui since that was the duty of an attack dog.
If it spotted any threatening behavior or if it received Wang Kui’s orders, it would not hesitate to charge ahead and tear everything apart!
[Haha! Big Butt is asserting dominance!]
[Incredible! It is now the king of dogs!]
[Look at that Husky over there—it did not even dare to pant once Big Butt appeared!]
[He can’t be more dominant. What hasn’t Big Butt experienced anyway?]
***
Certainly.
After hundreds of practice sessions where it had pounced at live quarries, protected humans, and even fought to the death against its own kind, Big Butt’s bones were pungent with blood, and any domesticated dog would only know fear toward it!
“Bro, isn’t your wolfdog too awesome?! Where did you buy it?”
“So handsome! Where did you get it? I want one too!”
“Handsome! Can I take a picture with your dog?”

Despite Big Butt’s intimidating appearance, some of the bolder folks gathered around it and tried to get closer.
“I got it from a village.”
Wang Kui refrained from saying too much—surely he could not say that he had caught Big Butt from a village, could he?
“Laizhou Hong is so rare these days… is it a stud dog? I have a female purebred German Shepherd back in my shop, I’ll pay you five thousand for each session!”
That was when a knowledgeable seller approached Wang Kui to asl to borrow Big Butt for breeding.
“Not at the moment. It’s a hunting dog, not for use as a stud!”
Wang Kui had to turn down the people who were starting to flock toward him, otherwise, the sellers were going to interrogate him endlessly.
“It’s so handsome… If only I could have one. What’s its name?” A university student looked up to ask after taking a photo.
“Big Butt…”
Between laughter and tears, Wang Kui was forced to reveal Big Butt’s name as the live comments roared with laughter.
“Big Butt?! Why would you name it that? Its butt doesn’t look that big, either…”
The university student even checked Big Butt’s posterior in confusion.
At the same time, Wang Kui’s livestream viewers were laughing themselves silly.
However, that was when a shrill scream echoed amongst the crowd.
“Kyaa—!”
It was a woman.
Everyone promptly turned towards her.
Amidst the loud ferocious barking, a massive red-brown adult Alaskan Malamute was chasing after another young black-and-white Alaskan Malamute a woman was holding, its jaws snapping wildly at it!
