- Chapter 75 - Lonely Me and the Lonely Caring Goddess Chapter 75
The final checks for the sports festival tomorrow were being done in the student council office.
Representatives from the Broadcasting Club, Athletics Committee members, and Discipline Committee members gathered to make the final verification of the overall progress and the content of the competitions.
Final checks for the equipment to be used, and so on…
Delegating work to students, to some extent, was very enjoyable.
And what I appreciate the most is that the student council members can use the headquarters and standby seats.
In other words, I don’t have to stay in the classroom. I can stay here when I don’t have anything to do.
“Takanashi-san, how’s the final verification going?”
Someone asked me as I was on the patrol route.
I had to check to ensure that no one was gathering in extreme places or playing around during the sports festival.
It’s one of my duties together with the public morals committee.
“Everything’s okay. The members of the public morals committee will also be working, so the area to cover is small.”
“If you have any questions, please ask right away.”
“Roger.”
I’m almost done, so maybe I should ask if there’s anything I can do to help Senpai.
——————————————
“Vice president, please be in charge of tomorrow’s live coverage.”
“Uhm… Are you sure that you want me to? To be honest, I’m not very good at commentary.”
“Satsukawa-san, since I will be doing this, it only makes sense if the Vice President does it too…”
“In the first place, it’s not something I agreed to!”
Why say it just now? He’s putting Senpai in a tight spot.
I can’t overlook if he’s planning to make Senpai do something reckless.
“Is it really that hard…?”
“I’ve never tried doing it before…”
“In the first place, won’t it be difficult because of Satsukawa-san’s personality?”
The people around are saying a lot of things.
But if Sara-senpai doesn’t like it, I want to stop them.
“Ehhh! President! What should we do? It’s a big problem now!”
“Please wait a minute.”
“Umm, President… Please don’t make Sara-senpai do odd jobs…”
I started complaining. Then the chairman looked at my face and seemed to have come up with something.
“Oh! That’s right! Takanashi-kun. Wouldn’t you like to hear Satsugawa-san’s live coverage up close?”
That came out of the blue.
Of course, I would like to hear it.
“President… what are you saying to Takanashi-kun?”
“Of course, I want to hear it, but if Sara-senpai doesn’t want to, then…”
After hearing that, the President asked Sara-senpai.
“How about it? Takanashi-kun says he wants to listen to your live commentary. I’ll put him in the seat next to you when you give the play-by-play commentary?
“Do you want to listen to my live coverage, Takanashi-kun?”
How should I answer this?
I don’t want to trouble Senpai by saying something careless, but I want to truly hear it.
“If Sara-senpai doesn’t hate it, I’d love to listen to it. But if you hate it even just a little, then…”
“Then I’ll accept.”
“Yosh! Then this problem is solved. Let’s do our best!”
“Ehhh??? I’m sure this would be a substantial problem, but how was it resolved easily? Was this Natsumi-chan’s influence rubbing on her?”
“…I could see this coming.”
“…A-Ah! Because of Takanashi-kun, isn’t it?”
“I don’t have any regrets anymore. *Sob*.”
…Is it really okay?
Maybe Senpai actually didn’t want to do it…
“Takanashi-san, I will do my best to give the live coverage, so please watch me closely.”
She’s probably okay since she seems to be all smiles.
——————————————
“I’ll be making a lot of bento tomorrow, so please look forward to them.”
“You’re making a lot of bentos?”
“Yes! Mother, Takanashi-san, and Natsumi’s share. So I’m going to prepare them in heavy-duty boxes.”
!?
Did she say “mother”!?
But it’s a school event, so it’s not surprising if she comes.
Though my parents won’t be there.
I’m looking forward to it, but also nervous at the same time.
“Sara-senpai’s mom will be going to the sports festival?”
“Yes, she is. She seemed to have some free time and was very excited about it. She wants to meet you, Takanashi-san. So I would appreciate it if you could introduce yourself to her.”
Ah! I’ll be even more nervous if you say something like that.
It’s Sara-senpai’s mother! I want to make as good an impression as possible, so I’ll be careful not to s***w up.
“Takanashi-san… Umm… Is Takanashi-san’s father or mother…”
Senpai asked restlessly.
I haven’t told my parents about the school event.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with parents coming. Still, I don’t know what they’ll say if they find out I’m not getting along with my classmates here, for example, in competitions. Or they just saw me sitting at the class standby table.
“No, they will not be coming because of work. My parents haven’t been there much for school events.”
I lied unintentionally. I was in a hurry to make the excuse that Sara-senpai did not understand my lie.
“…I see. Well then, if I ever had the chance to see your parents, I’d be happy to say hello.”
Sara-senpai seemed to believe what I said and gave me that answer.
I really can’t get around how pure Sara-senpai is…
