As Wen Xi was about to check He Yan’s message, a call came from Professor Liang, who taught at the Film University, so she decided to answer before looking at the message.

“Hello, have you arrived yet?”

“Yes. I am at the gate, I’ll be there soon.”

Professor Liang laughed awkwardly, and almost apologetically.

“Well, I’m sorry Miss Wen. I’ve just had to leave to deal with an emergency that’s come up. Can we reschedule our appointment?”

Wen Xi wasn’t angry about him not being able to make the appointment.

“No problem. We can just meet at another time.”

“That’s great. Just a reminder from me to use your time wisely to prepare for exams and interviews. See you then.”

After she hung up, Wen Xi found a small pavilion, with plenty of trees and sat down in the shade.

Wen Xi had gone into school today wanting to transfer back. Although she had studied at this university in her previous life, her superstitious father changed his mind after the fire that nearly killed her, firmly believing it was a sign that a career in performing arts wasn’t for her.

On top of that, Wei Kexin had also been persuading her father in secret to send Wen Xi to a different school, because Wen Qing was jealous of her accomplishments.

In the end, she chose to pursue medicine for her family.

Now that she had started a new life, Wen Xi thought she might as well follow her heart and study what she was truly passionate about.

Professor Liang was a part of the school’s admission office, and kept in touch with her even after she had given up her offer to study here.

Wen Xi called her this morning, and she was glad to hear that Wen Xing had changed her mind, and asked her to meet in person.

Unfortunately, Professor Liang was no longer available today.

Since she had been waiting to check He Yan’s message, she sat down on a bench and looked at her phone once more.

She didn’t reply, as the curtness of his replymade it seem that he wasn’t in the mood to chat.

Since he had saved her life twice already, Wen Xi thought it would be rude of her to not repay him properly, even if he hadn’t asked for anything in return. Remembering that she’d promised to replace his phone, she headed to the best electronics store she could think of. 

On her way to a restaurant to get lunch, a lingerie store caught her eye. It reminded her of He Yan joking that she was so inconsiderate to replace only his phone, and not his underwear.

“Only the phone?”

Even though it was probably only a joke, she felt it was her responsibility to either wash the other ones or buy him a new pair. 

As she was browsing, an employee approached her.

“Miss, may I help you? Is it for your boyfriend?” She asked.

“Show me your most comfortable pair.” Wen Xi said instead, not answering her question.

“They are all good quality. What size were you looking for?”

Size…

Wen Xi was lost for words. How was she supposed to know?

Being well prepared for a situation like this, the employee reworded her question once she saw Wen Xi’s troubled expression.

“What is his height and weight?”

Wen Xi felt relieved hearing an easier question, and she answered comfortably.

“Around six feet, to six foot two, and weight…” She trailed off.

She could make a guess of his height just by looking, but weight… was a tricky question.

Awkwardly, Wen Xi was lost for words again.

Supposing that he probably weighed the same as a male model, she turned around and made a quick search on her phone.

“Eighty kilos.” She said, turning back around. 

Wen Xi felt relieved leaving the store.

She then went straight to visit her grandparents, and stayed until sunset. Her grandparents were the ones who loved her the most in her family.

When she arrived home, she noticed that there were a few more pairs of shoes than usual, meaning there were guests.

As she’d expected, in the living room she saw Nan Xunchuan’s adopted sister: Nan Muyun.
