Wen Xi gave Tang Xin a call, only for her be hung up on almost right away. She could tell from the background noise that it was pretty chaotic out there, so she had no option but to wait and see what happened.
Otherwise, if she were to leave like her right now, she’d be recognized right away, especially with that obvious wound on her shoulder.
Her phone buzzed, and she looked down, surprised by the caller ID.
Why would he call her?
After a moment of hesitation, she took the call, “Mister He?”
“Where are you now?”
The sudden question took her by surprise, and she knitted her eyebrows.
“Hm?”
“Are you familiar with the exit routes of the gymnasium?”
Wen Xi was confused- how did he know where she was?
As if getting his answer from her silence, he spoke, “Go out through the third exit, there’s a guy called Yuan Fei. Look for him.”
With that, Wen Xi could tell what He Yan’s intention was. So he knew her situation.
“How did you know…”
“We’ll talk about the details later, your injury is pretty serious. Hurry.”
His deep and slightly coarse voice had a magic that made her want to succumb to his wishes- Wen Xi only nodded her head and looked for the number three exit, walking over as quick as she could.
He saw a tall man walking over before she even left the exit, “Are you Miss Wen Xi?”
Wen Xi paused, “Yuan Fei?”
Yuan Fei nodded and escorted her, all the way to a Rolls Royce car.
The car started moving once they were inside, and Wen Xi was finally able to let out a breath.
After around ten minutes, it entered a villa and stopped in front of the house.
“This isn’t the hospital- where are we?” Wen Xi asked as she endured the pain in her shoulder.
Yuan Fei got their seatbelts off, “The young master said that you wouldn’t want to go to the hospital, and told me to bring you here, Miss. Don’t worry, the owner of the house is a friend of the young master, a very professional doctor.”
To prevent any people from taking pictures and attaching her to Wen Qing in the media, it was true that Wen Xi didn’t want to go to the hospital at all.
She had questions, but it was hard enough enduring the pain at this point, so she decided to follow Yuan Fei down without too many questions.
Some distance away, a woman came running over, wearing a pink sports bra with pink shorts. Her sports jacket was tied to her waist, and the sweat on her face dripped down slowly down her smooth skin. She gave off the aura of a really healthy and pretty person.
Seeing Wen Xi and Yuan Fei, she didn’t seem surprised at all, and spoke in the most casual manner possible, “Good thing you made it, your injuries look pretty serious. Get inside.”
“This is Doctor Bei,” Yuan Fei said softly beside Wen Xi.
More than fifteen minutes later, Wen Xi’s injury had been bandaged. With the wound having been taken care of so fast, it wasn’t too much of a problem aside from the pain.
Wen Xi thanked the doctor through her mask.
She smiled, “No worries. Jin Sheng rarely asks me for anything, so I’m pretty happy to do this favor.”
“Jin Sheng?” Wen Xi frowned.
“He Yan. Jin Sheng is the nickname I called him when we were young. I don’t do it anymore but sometimes the habit comes out. Right, my name is Bei Mi, and you are his…”
“Wen Xi.”
Bei Mi paused, but smiled back. It seemed like there was something deeper beneath that smile.
Wen Xi had wanted to tell Bei Mi her name, but with the way she’d been talking with her, it came with certain implications, so she wanted to clear things up, “I’m his patient.”
She didn’t say friend, because she wasn’t even sure if she could describe her relationship with He Yan like that. Their current patient-doctor status was the most appropriate.
Bei Mi frowned slightly, “There aren’t too many patients He Yan cared this much about. You sure you’re only his patient, Miss Wen?”
