Chapter 48: Wedding Ceremony Music
In order to ensure her safety, Wen Xi decided to just shut herself in the house all day, studying acting, or resting, or chatting with Jiang Ke. It wasn’t too bad.
The moment she had a chance to calm down though, she would remember the sound she heard outside the window.
At that moment, she held onto the button and went into deep thought.
While she thought the chance of Muyun being behind this was higher, it was still just a possibility. It wasn’t for sure.
Plus, the more she thought about it, it looked like Muyun wasn’t the culprit.
After the mall incident, this didn’t fit her personality. If the person really was someone she’d sent, he wouldn’t just take a look and leave, especially when she was alone playing the cello. If he was a professional, he would’ve been able to deal with her from the back easily. Him not doing that meant that it wasn’t their intention.
But who else other than Muyun would be interested in this?
Was it really just a normal thief?
That button wasn’t a very clear clue- it was quite difficult to narrow it down to one person with this.
She put it back into a box and slipped it into the drawer before lying in bed.
Taking up her phone, she looked at Yunchuan’s WeChat. He’d sent a couple of messages that she didn’t want anything to do with.
In the end, he assumed she was nervous before the wedding. He told her to get to sleep early and didn’t send anything else.
Wen Xi focused her eyes on the words he said before deleting everything, cutting him out.
Looking at what she sent Muyun, she felt herself tense up as well.
She wasn’t sure that Muyun wouldn’t cause trouble tomorrow, so she prepared a plan for herself.
If she got cold feet, she would have to pretend to faint and run from the wedding for a bit.
But that wasn’t the primary plan.
Under many worries, she barely got any shut-eye during the night.
The sky turned bright, and Wei Kexin forced preparations on her.
Wen Qing had already been pulled out of bed- she was the bridesmaid.
Wen Xi put on the wedding dress, and the makeup artist was putting in her best work.
Everything was going well, and time was passing. Sweat gathered in the palms of her hands.
The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping. The groom was already coming to get her to the church.
Wen Qing didn’t give him much trouble the way usual traditions would, only giving him a sentence or two of trouble before letting him in.
Yunchuan was wearing a black tuxedo, looking elegant as he knelt to give his speech to her.
Wen Xi took a deep breath, telling herself that it was fine as she put her hand in his.
The man hugged her into the air immediately, and among the cheers, she was brought to the wedding car.
The alliance between the Wen and Nan families was naturally a big deal, and all the participants had a name for themselves as well.
To the media, on the other hand, this was big news.
But they could only take a couple of pictures from afar and make their guesses on the outskirts of the area.
Not long after, Wen Qing had already reached the hotel.
The time was here, and the ceremony song started. Holding Guosheng’s arm, she walked step by step to that big open door, under the eyes of everyone as she walked to Yunchuan.
Her back was already starting to have cold sweat, and her footsteps became slow as she looked at everyone present. Suddenly, she saw an elegant figure in the audience.
He Yan had relations with the Nan family, it wasn’t too weird to see him here.
He calmly looked at her, his eyes naturally peaceful as usual.
She suddenly stood there, not moving. She felt her feet grow heavier by the ton.
Perhaps she had been wrong from the start. She had pinned all hopes on Muyun. It was way too risky.
If Muyun really did get cold feet, she wouldn’t dare to do much under the pressure of Yunchuan.
Feeling the consequences, she closed her eyes slowly, planning to fake out.
As her body slowly fell, shocked voices rose.
But she didn’t hit the floor, falling into a hug instead, a warm one.
After that, she opened her eyes to someone carrying her.
The view was clear. He Yan’s face was in front of hers again.
He smiled. “Awake?”
“Xixi, what’s wrong?” Yunchuan walked over.
He Yan casually stood up. “Nothing, she’s just nervous.”
Wen Xi grit her teeth; she wanted to beat him up.
Right then, the door opened, and a voice rang through the room. “Young Master Nan, you can’t marry her!”
