Chapter 520: Chapter 520: What a Coincidence, We Meet Again
“Ladies are to be respected and cherished, not to demonstrate one’s fangs with swinging fists,” a calm and sexy voice carried an indescribable air of aristocratic elegance, “If one can’t even manage that, there’s no need to be a person.”
The man who suddenly appeared was around thirty-five to thirty-six years old, tall and with a frame that clearly did not belong to the domestic build, making his suit look dashing and neatly fitted. His deep-set features and high nose bridge gave him a mixed-race appearance; most captivating, however, were his tea-colored pupils, unfathomable, enough to drown any woman.
He seemed to be born with a smile, always carrying a trace of elegance at the corner of his mouth. But his slight smile wasn’t like Sheng Aiyi’s, which looked deliberately posed. His elegance appeared etched into his bones, flowing through his blood. He truly resembled a noble straight out of a medieval oil painting!
Such a person, once seen, leaves a lasting impression.
Chi Enen recognized him at once, “Is it you?” Wasn’t he the driver who nearly hit her the day before yesterday afternoon? What was he doing here?
The man with elegance to the bone turned his face to glance at her, his tea-colored pupils shifting as if she were some precious treasure regained.
But he soon averted his gaze, maintaining his composed and elegant facade, yet a viciousness sparked in his eyes, and suddenly he twisted the wrist of the man grabbing his hand, tossing it away as the man cried out in pain.
“Hass, clear the area,” stated four indifferent words, firm as a rock, sealing the deal!
“Yes.”
Soon enough, a group of equally tall bodyguards quickly chased away the journalists gathered at the doorway. The process was fast and efficient!
After dealing with the journalists, the bodyguards went back to the unremarkable car parked at the roadside without any need for instruction.
Once all unrelated people had left, he turned to Chi Enen and extended his hand, “What a coincidence, to meet again.”
Chi Enen may not have been very observant, but even she could tell from the well-trained bodyguards that this man’s identity was extraordinary. But she didn’t know why he would intervene to help her. Nevertheless, help was given, and she knew basic courtesy. She extended her hand and shook his, “Yes, indeed. Thank you for just now.”
Quan Dongting looked at her deeply, and unlike last time, did not hold her hand, releasing it like a gentleman as he lifted the corner of his mouth, “No need to thank me, I happened to be here and just couldn’t stand by.”
He wasn’t a local, and when he spoke Mandarin, there was a slight upward inflection at the end of his sentences, which oddly sounded pleasing to the ear, as if it were a different accent altogether.
“Regardless, I am very grateful for your help just now,” Chi Enen stated earnestly, expressing her thanks once more, “Really, thank you.”
Even thinking about it now frightened her, if that male journalist had managed to push and knock her down, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
Fortunately, someone had stopped the journalist!
She furrowed her eyebrows in contemplation, looked at him sincerely, and said, “I really should offer you a drink to show my thanks, but I still have matters to attend to…”
“It’s fine, you go ahead with your business. I was simply at the right place at the right time and couldn’t stand the sight. Don’t dwell on it too much.”
Chi Enen wanted to suggest exchanging phone numbers, perhaps to invite him for a meal once she was free. But then she thought, he clearly seemed to be someone of extraordinary status, possibly helping by chance, and if she were to ask for his number, he might misunderstand that she had ulterior motives.
With that thought, Chi Enen pursed her lips, thanked him again, and hastily hailed a taxi to leave.
After the taxi had gone far, a man dressed in a tailcoat walked up to him, bowing slightly, and asked in a low voice, “Master Gong, should we continue following Miss?”
If not for seeing it with his own eyes, he would never have believed someone could resemble the Old Madam in her youth so closely.
“Not for now. Getting too close too quickly might frighten her.”
“Understood.” He paused before continuing, “Your meeting with Xingyao company is about to start, should we head to Xingyao now, or…”
“Let’s go to Xingyao.”
