Chapter 34: Overly Enthusiastic Assistant
At a Civil Affairs Bureau office in Nanchang.
Su Wanwan was sitting on a bench in the hall, swinging her legs and looking bored. She glanced at the man who was standing outside, talking on his phone.
He had one hand in the pocket of his suit pants and was holding his cell phone with the other, and the muscles in his raised arm were obvious. His shirt was pristine, as though it had been soaked in bleach, and his suit pants were smooth. His dark eyes were focused, and his expression calm.
Once again, Su Wanwan found herself admiring his good looks and side profile. Compared to the people around them, Huo Jingshen looked like a mature and shrewd businessman. However, this same man was actually getting married to her after only knowing her for three days!
“Mrs. Huo…”
“…”
“Mrs. Huo…”
“…”
“… Miss Su?”
Su Wanwan finally raised her head. “You called me?”
The staff looked nervous. Did CEO Huo’s wife have hearing problems?
“Miss Su, please give me CEO Huo and your certification documents.”
Su Wanwan toyed with the ends of her hair as she asked, “What documents? I did not bring anything.”
The staff was dumbfounded for a moment.
Didn’t they say that they wanted to jump the queue to register their marriage? Why didn’t they bring their documents with them then?
“Wait for a while, the documents arrive shortly.” Huo Jingshen’s voice sounded from nearby.
“Okay, CEO Huo.” The staff walked away quickly.
Huo Jingshen walked over and stood in front of Su Wanwan. His eyes darkened briefly when he glanced at her fair legs, then he met her gaze and said, “I will be flying to Y Country at six in the evening.”
“Is that so? That’s great!” Su Wanwan exclaimed, and Huo Jingshen narrowed his eyes at her.
“Does the thought of me leaving make you happy?”
Su Wanwan coughed awkwardly and lowered her head.
It’s not that she was submitting to him, but that ten-year gap between them intimidated her a little. He was tall, experienced in socializing, somewhat condescending, and had an undeniably powerful aura.
The difference between them was obvious.
“I should be back in a week, but if everything goes smoothly, I can be back in five days,” Huo Jingshen informed her, as if he was instructing a subordinate. “You can call me if there are any problems, or you can…” Huo Jingshen paused for a moment, “send me a WeChat message.”
This WeChat messaging was something that Nangong Ci had taught him after he returned to China. He said that it was something all the youngsters were doing nowadays.
Su Wanwan nodded, vaguely wondering what problems he thought she might encounter.
“Add your WeChat account to my phone. Oh, and your phone number too.” Huo Jingshen held out a black business phone.
Su Wanwan’s mouth twitched slightly. She did not want to add him but he continued holding out his phone, so Su Wanwan had no choice but to take it and add him as a friend on WeChat.
“Hello, CEO Huo! Hello, Mrs. Huo!” The both of them turned as someone came running over. After handing some documents to Huo Jingshen, Ji Jie respectfully gave Su Wanwan a small pink bag. “Madam, this is your luggage.”
“Oh, thank you.”
“Madam, you don’t need to be so polite with me. You can look for me if you need anything in the future,” Ji Jie said eagerly.
“Umm… Thank you.”
“Madam, you don’t need to be so polite with me.”
Su Wanwan blinked, unsure of how to respond.
“You can go back now,” Huo Jingshen told his assistant finally.
Ji Jie immediately said, “Okay, CEO Huo! I wish you and Mrs. Huo a happy marriage! May you both be happily married for a hundred years! Goodbye!”
Su Wanwan could only stare as the overly enthusiastic assistant rushed off.

Ten minutes later.
Su Wanwan returned to the car, looking at the bright red book in her hand. She was still a little bewildered.
Everything was happening so quickly!
If Mo Weiyi, who had spent ten years wondering how she could marry Xiao Yebai, found out that she had spent less than half a day to get married, what would she say?
Before Su Wanwan could blink, the bright red book in her hands disappeared.
Su Wanwan’s eyes widened indignantly as she turned to Huo Jingshen. “What are you doing?”
Huo Jingshen took a picture of the two small red booklets using his phone, and answered casually, “Making an official announcement.”
Su Wanwan gaped at him.
Huo Jingshen shared the picture on his WeChat, and started the car.
