Chapter 23: Ring of Fire, Blazing Tornado
The loud explosion woke Catherine up from her sleep instantly.
Instinctively, Catherine grabbed her dagger and wriggled out of the sleeping bag.
“Brother?”
After Austin’s training, Catherine quickly entered her battle mode.
“Could it be vicious beasts?”
Catherine’s heart skipped a beat when she saw the dazzling flames outside.
“It’s a high-level vicious beast, Nekomata. Be careful. I’ll deal with it.”
Austin leaped out of the house and onto the roof of a nearby building.
“What? High-level vicious beast?!”
Catherine hurried outside to catch up with her brother, who had blended into the night far away. From time to time, hot streams of fire lit up.
“Fire? Where did the fire come from?”
Catherine was utterly confused.
What shocked her the most was that her brother actually went to chase after a high-level vicious beast.
According to rank, only tier-three magisters could match a high-level vicious beast.
Austin was only an apprentice magister, yet he dared to chase after a high-level beast. It simply sounded impossible.
And where did the flames come from?
Did Nekomata breathe fire?
Or did the fire come from Austin?
There were magic techniques that could create flames.
However, those were usually magic techniques above Lv3, such as low-level fireballs and fire vortexes.
And they require a lot of magic power!
Those who were not tier-three magisters or above could never bear the burden of such magic techniques.
She took another look outside the room that turned black. Only God would know how high the temperature of the flames was.
Just by standing outside the room, Catherine could feel the oppressive and unbearable heat.
The agile cat dodged Austin’s Burning Fire Blast.
The cat jumped onto the roof as it attempted to escape.
It was rare for Austin to encounter an injured high-level beast, so he did not want to let it go and chased after it.
The cat was like a fairy jumping around in the night.
The flames behind it burned like fire dragons.
“Meow!”
The cat screamed again as its tail got burned and blackened.
A high-level vicious beast chased by an apprentice magister?
The Nekomata could not understand.
The human at the back seemed to have unlimited mana in his body as the flames shot over continuously.
Nekomata would never know that Austin did not use any mana.
He had used the magic fire canister to unleash the Burning Fire Blast.
Austin flew through the air, and with the elasticity of the sky spirit flea, he was not slower than the Nekomata.
He chased after the Nekomata and swiped his hand. The flames on the magic fire canister spewed out one after another.
Oxygen surged in and fueled the flames, which exploded into a giant fireball that burned the surroundings.
Boom!
The Nekomata was blown away by the fiery heatwave.
Austin took the opportunity to use both his hands to light up two expensive magic fire canisters and threw them out.
While the magic fire canister was still spinning in midair, Austin pressed his palms together and stared with his eyes wide open.
“Ring of Fire, Flame Prison!”
In the blink of an eye, the flames of the two magic flame canisters started to burn even more intensely.
With the two magic fire canisters as the source, two lines of flames extended out from each of them, one from the left and one from the right. The head and the tail connected, forming a great ring of fire.
This ring of flames was like a cage, trapping the cat inside.
The Nekomata darted left and right, trying to escape the cage of flames.
However, every time it got close, the flames would surge and burn fiercely, forcing the cat back.
Austin smirked.
“Looks like this move has been well developed.”
“Then… one more!”
Autin held both hands with his fingers closed tightly.
Wind Control!
The air around them flowed rapidly, forming a whirlwind above the Blazing Ring.
The wind accelerated with the fire, while the fire burned more intensely with the help of the wind.
The jet of flames in the Blazing Ring immediately shot up into the sky, forming a fire tornado that covered the Nekomata completely.
“How about that? This move is called the Blazing Tornado!”
Austin said confidently.
These were all moves that he had developed himself.
The naming of the moves was childish, but the power was indeed significant.
Nekomata was a high-level beast. Even if it was injured, it was much stronger than an ordinary mid-level beast.
Even so, the Nekomata became cornered by Austin.
The Blazing Tornado continued to compress.
A high temperature of two to three thousand degrees could melt metal, let alone cats with flesh and blood.
The cat’s hair bristled again and let out a sharp cry.
The cat fur on its body was already blackened and almost started burning.
“Meow!”
With a sharp screech, the Nekokata’s body expanded rapidly like an inflated balloon.
The black and burnt fur fluttered like seaweed. The Nekomata, from the size of an ordinary cat, had grown to a size larger than an African elephant.
The Nekomata, which had transformed into a gigantic creature, was covered in a thick layer of cat fur. It slammed through the fire tornado and swung its giant paw towards Austin.
“Mm?”
Austin’s pupils constricted slightly, and he immediately raised his arms to defend himself.
Boom!
Austin felt as if he got hit by two or three Armored Raging Bears.
The terrifying power struck onto his arms.
Austin’s feet smashed into the roof and got pushed back for dozens of meters, leaving deep cracks on the floor.
Nekomata’s body was still in flames. Layers of cat fur were burnt to ashes and scattered in the night sky.
However, the cat was frantically trying to grow its fur.
The growth of cat fur prevented Austin’s terrifyingly high-temperature flames from reaching its body.
“So that’s how it is. It’s a high-level Vicious Beast which is indeed far more troublesome than low-level or mid-level Vicious Beasts.”
Austin grimaced in pain and inhaled a deep breath.
The next moment, he gave an excited smile.
Fighting spirit lit up in Austin’s eyes.
He was not afraid of fighting. Instead, he enjoyed fighting.
“Now that’s more interesting!”
Austin pulled his feet out of the ground.
He ripped off his tattered shirt and revealed his muscular upper body.
“You should know that my strength is not limited to just fire. My literal strength can increase by a hundred times…”
Austin stomped his feet.
Boom!
He stepped on the hard cement ground and transformed into a cheetah. His body was so fast that it became a blur as he charged towards the giant cat.
