Married To A Savage Duke - Chapter 60-2
“Oh, my God. Married gentlemen shouldn’t say that.”
A lady burst in and smiled with her eyes as a fan covered her mouth.
“Wouldn’t a man blinded by love change his devotion so much that he would be willing to pluck a star from heaven? It’s also weird for a woman not to fall in love with a man in his prime. Archduke Blkanov. Isn’t it?”
“I think that’s more difficult to understand———-”
“Oh, my. There is evidence of love in front of me considering that you just said that.”
A lady had stretched out her hand as if to take a closer look at the flower decorations hanging from the glass ceiling. The aristocratic businessmen exchanged meaningful glances and said nothing. The lady stuck out her tongue a little.
“What a pity! If you want a woman to love you, why don’t you follow the Grand Duke? I have to go and convey my sincere condolences to your beautiful wives, gentlemen.” The lady who gave them a lecture left with a big smile. The businessmen looked puzzled as they walked through the greenhouse again. Not only those who visited the spacious garden or glass greenhouse but also many people had already shared friendships among the guests during the marriage. One of them was Cherryl’s father, Marquis Milose. The Marquis, who was about to do one proper thing before this wedding, wandered around the garden and looked around. Soon, they found their prey.
“Hey, Earl Owen!”
Count Owen, who was drinking champagne given by his servant, scanned Marquis Milose with disapproval.
“Marquis Milose. What brings you here?”
“What do you mean, man? Isn’t my baby the Grand Duke’s food——I mean his bride? Without me, this wedding would be meaningless.” Marquis Milose coughed in vain before getting to the point.”By the way, I heard you’re promoting a hotel business in Carlsvik these days.”
“Where did you pick that up like a tactile bird? It’s a good move but nothing is guaranteed.”
“I came here knowing everything. I heard that you have finished analyzing commercial districts in the Eastern City where the trading port is located. You have also secured a location, right?”
“There was nothing to analyze. Is there anyone who doesn’t know that the port city expanded by Grand Duke Blkanov is thriving terribly? Even if one opens a business in an alley at the end of the street, it will be a jackpot.”
“Then what is the reason for the slow progress? It’s because you didn’t get a business license from the Grand Duke, right?” Marquis Milose continued with a grin. “Who do you think I am? Did you argue with the Lord of Carlsvik? I can loosen his leash on you if you wish.” As Earl Owen squinted at him, Marquis Milrose made a circle with his thumb and index fingertips together.”You could pay me for an introductory fee.”
Earl Owen spat out. “Do you think I wouldn’t know that you’re borrowing money here and there, citing that you’re the Archduke’s father-in-law? You’re pretty shameless to ask for a referral fee this openly.”
“What kind of nonsense is that? I’m not borrowing money from others!”
“You don’t even have tell me that! Now that I’ve come to the Grand Duchy, I’ll have to go and say hello to the Duke myself.”
“How could you run a business if you’re not even insightful?”
Despite being furious, Count Owen turned his back on Marquis Milose. The Marquis gritted his teeth and glared at him. “Hey! Dante!”
Suddenly, Marquis Milose turned to the sound of someone calling him but somehow, it felt strange that the caller’s voice sounded a little young to just call him like that. Marquis Milose, who soon recognized the owner’s voice, snapped up.
“How are you, Dante?”
“Hey! Hey! Hey!”
That barbarian! Marquis Milose, who couldn’t even bear to make a sound, trembled. It was Cole, one of Cade’s men, who was so gluttonous that he had left the Marquis’s pockets in the Hindel restaurant. Cole smiled and waved at him, saying, “I still know your face.” Next to him, Lecter pinched Cole, criticizing him for not forgetting his manners among Southerners. As he was about to turn his head and ignore them, Marquis Milose’s eyes flew towards the man in front of Cole as if drawn by a magnet.
“Aren’t you the Grand Duke of Blkanov?” The Marquis approached Cade with a clang of joy, pretending to be all chummy with him. He was receiving congratulations from other nobles since he had been in the spacious garden.
The appearance of a tall man dressed in a stiff and unwrinkled uniform caught everyone’s attention. The Marquis couldn’t even get close to him since he was surrounded by a crowd of guests.
“Congratulations on your marriage, Grand Duke.”
“What a beautiful greenhouse. The bride will like it.”
When the aristocrat mentioned Cherryl being content, Cade smiled leisurely. As his sharp impression was gently released, the face of a man in love appeared without fail. He heard exclamations and excited whispers from all sides.
“So he was a man who knew how to laugh———-”
Not a few agreed as someone admired in a faint voice. The response of young ladies was particularly hot. Even though they knew it would be rude to look at a person’s face outright, they watched him diligently, following Cade’s movements like meerkats. The Marquis Milose, who had barely pushed through the crowd to stand in front of Cade, groaned, rubbing his palms together.
“It’s been so long since I’ve done this. I’ve sent you letters over and over again, but you must have been quite busy———-”
“My lord.” The old butler, who burst in, whispered something to Cade. After receiving some news for a few seconds, Cade soon opened his mouth in a low voice.
“Go in and sit down. The bride arrives.”
His men pushed open the greenhouse door. All the aristocrats standing in the garden hastened their steps. The Marquis, who had his mouth closed like a goldfish, couldn’t resist the current and headed to the greenhouse. After all the guests had entered, Cade waited for Cherryl, sweeping his mouth. His expression was so calm, but his slowly flicking feet showed impatience.
