Married To A Savage Duke - Chapter 62-1
There was still one decisive ceremony left to wrap up the wedding. Cherryl licked her lips without realizing it. It felt as if all her nerves were concentrated on her lips. Cade, who was staring at her, lowered his gaze in bewilderment.
‘Don’t look at me like that.’ Unnecessary shame roared silently. Even though Cherryl twisted her chin slightly to both sides, his eyes persistently followed. Even when she made light contact with Cade, she would blush if there was even one spectator. Still, she couldn’t believe they had to kiss in front of 200 people. Everyone was holding their breath and expecting the bride and groom to kiss. Even in the front row of the auditorium, Cade’s aides sat looking up at the podium and the trio of teenagers looked particularly excited. Even though she imagined it several times, her heart was pounding and she got a slight fever around her neck. Cade noticed a slight change in her breathing. He had seen her fluctuating gaze and the flush spreading like paint across her skin. Cade wanted to remember it for a long time, but he couldn’t because of the situation. He didn’t know why but she looked uncomfortable somewhere in her body, so it wasn’t time to relax.
“Cherryl.” A low voice caught Cherryl’s attention who was mesmerized at the moment. As their eyes met, his face slowly drew nearer, and a refreshing scent came. Then, a familiar touch gently fell on the lips. It didn’t make any noise, but it delivered only a faint warmth. After gently removing his lips, he whispered. “It’s over soon, so hang in there.”
In the eyes of the guests, it seemed to be a kiss given shyly by a boy in love. A loud round of applause poured out from the audience and it felt like their ears were about to rip. Cherryl’s heart beat so fast that she thought it was broken. She felt dizzy as her breathing gradually accelerated as the piano’s melody changed into a cheerful one. Now that the ceremony was over, it was time for the final march.
‘What should I do? I feel so dizzy.’
Cherryl’s head was spinning and she thought she could collapse like this. She heard that many women faint due to breathing difficulties while wearing corsets, but there was no law that it wouldn’t be her.
“Take my hand.” A low voice broke through the applause. Cherryl moved slowly, her hand resting on his palm. The aristocrats, who rose from their seats, blessed their union by throwing roses on the wedding aisle. Cherryl, who gave him a faint smile, only looked forward because she couldn’t afford to do so at the last minute. At the end of the march, she heard a stampede of guests rising behind her back with the servant’s guidance asking them to move to the main castle for the reception. Cherryl clasped Cade’s hand so that she wouldn’t faint in front of them.
“My lord.” At the call, Cade lowered himself to make eye contact with Cherryl. “Can you take me straight to the Grand Duchy?” Cade didn’t think long because of the tremor from his shoulder that touched it. He didn’t even care that many eyes were watching when he lifted Cherryl and hugged her petite form in an instant. If he wasn’t wearing a dress suit, the dizzying and quick movement might have made him appear like a thief kidnapping the bride. Fortunately, he was dressed in a neat suit, and the nobles had also caught a glimpse of the freshness of a new relationship from the prospective couple. The surprise was evident on their faces.
On the other hand, the women who were watching burst into mischievous laughter. The groom must have been in a hurry to be with his lovely bride as soon as the ceremony was over. Such sentiments also followed. Unable to afford embarrassment, Cherryl breathed heavily and calmly put her arms around his neck. Her eyes turned white and her head swirled. When she came back to the castle and got out of the carriage, she also hugged Cade. At some point, the veil had disappeared, but no one cared. They had a difference in physique but as Cade moved quickly with her in his arms, his face did not change once. When they finally entered his castle, he checked the color of Cherryl’s face and asked implicitly. “Shall we go to the bedroom like this?”
“Yes. To my bedroom. Please call the maid————”
Since she couldn’t ask him to take her clothes off, Cherryl told him to call a servant even though he was in a daze. Cade, who was pursing his lips because he couldn’t understand what was wrong with her, immediately climbed the stairs. The servants, who were preparing to bring in guests in the hall on the first floor, were surprised to see them return so they tried to greet them. They watched Cade’s back in astonishment as he carried her while heading to the bedroom more urgently than anyone else. It all happened so fast that Cade and Cherryl didn’t seem to notice any of the servants standing side by side.
