Chapter 369 – He had no idea what he did wrong but he knew that it was wrong. (3)
The security guards allowed the car to enter.
The car drove inside the Lu’s front gate.
“Miss, you cannot enter without an invitation.” The security guard stopped Ning Zhi.
“I know Lu Jue.” Ning Zhi’s lips were close to white.
The security guard found that comical. Their Young Master was sitting inside the car earlier. Had he really known this girl, he would have said something already.
He had no choice but to repeat himself. “Miss, you cannot enter without an invitation.”
Looking at the black car disappearing inside the gate, Ning Zhi’s eyes completely lost its light.
The summer night was too cold. Recalling the cold glance coming from Lu Jue earlier, Ning Zhi felt that her body was chilled to the bone.
Lu Jue had truly forgotten her.
He had forgotten his Odd Big Sister.
And he had forgotten his Zhizhi.
Disappointed, Ning Zhi turned and walked away slowly.
It was very difficult to get a ride outside of the Lu’s. She needed to walk quite a bit of distance to reach the public road and get a cab.
Ning Zhi walked for a little while before stopping. Slowly, her eyes welled up, and her nose became stuffy.
Her big treasure had forgotten about her.
Her vision blurred, and she let out a strangled sob.
“Why are you crying?”
Ning Zhi blinked.
A pair of black shoes appeared in front of her, and a man’s deep and low voice rang from above her head.
Ning Zhi slowly lifted her head and saw…
Lu Jue in a bright red shirt.
His eyes were dark, and he was looking at her quietly.
His hand, however, clutched tightly over his own chest.
Looking at the girl’s reddened eyes, his hand clutched over his chest tightened even more. Staring at her intensely, he asked again, “Why are you crying?”
Looking at his gaze, which clearly expressed that he didn’t recognize her, Ning Zhi’s nose tingled again. Tears finally rolled down her cheeks, and she unleashed her grievances. “You had forgotten about me. Can I not cry? Shouldn’t I cry?”
Lu Jue felt that his heart was burned by the girl’s tears, and his chest throbbed in pain. He felt as though an unsettled little beast was violently biting his heart. It almost made it difficult for him to breathe.
The coldness in his eyes dissipated instantly, and he walked up to Ning Zhi helplessly. There was panic on his cold face. “Don’t…… don’t cry.”
He did not have tissues on him. Lu Jue quickly dragged his flashy red sleeves around her little face, wanting to wipe away her tears. “I was wrong. Please don’t cry.”
Lu Jue was taken aback from his own words.
He had no idea what he did wrong. But he strongly felt that it was his fault that she was crying. And that it was a big mistake on his part.
Ning Zhi’s vision was blurry.
Through her tears, she could see the panic on Lu Jue’s face and in his eyes. He wanted to wipe away her tears with his sleeve.
His movements were stiff and inexperienced. He didn’t even use a lot of force, but it was enough to make her face hurt.
Ning Zhi smacked his hand away. “You are hurting me.”
Staring at him grumpily, it was as though Ning Zhi wanted to let out all her displeasure and unreconciled feelings.
Lu Jue was not upset by her slap or grumpy attitude at all. Looking at her reddened eyes, he unconsciously wooed her. “I’m sorry. I’ll be gentler.”
This time, instead of his sleeve, he used his fingertips.
Under the tree, Lu Jue’s head was lowered. His warm fingers landed next to the corner of Ning Zhi’s eye, and he rubbed it gently. His deep and dull voice could be clearly heard in the quiet night. “I’m sorry. It was my fault. Please don’t cry.”
Ning Zhi looked at him quietly. “Who am I then?”
The tips of Lu Jue’s fingers were burned by the girl’s tears. He felt a bite on the tip of his heart. The pain made him panic. He looked at her blankly when he heard her question.
Who was she?
Why was it that he had reacted so strongly when he saw her?.
He had only taken a look outside the car window, but his heart had throbbed madly. He felt that his heart would leap out of his chest if he didn’t put his hand over it.
