Chapter 372 – “Have I kissed you before?” (3)
Edited by: Lulu
Recalling how Ning Zhi had waited outside the Lu’s shamelessly, Lin Tiantian felt very unsettled. “She definitely used some tricks to seduce Young Master Lu to carry her inside in front of all the guests.”
She was so upset. She had thought that she was the only one who was able to attend the Lu’s banquet and had the opportunity to get close to Young Master Lu while Ning Zhi could only wait pitifully outside the Lu’s front door.
The thought of how anxious Lu Jue was when he was carrying Ning Zhi and shielding her from the others thoughtfully made Lin Tiantian so angry that she could puke blood.
Mother Lin was much calmer than Lin Tiantian. She tucked onto her daughter, reminding her to mind her manners in front of the guests. “There are a lot of people around. We can talk about this later.”
Of course, Lin Tiantian cared about her image in the eyes of the other guests. As such, she obediently bit down on her lip, looking like leaves that had been beaten by the rain.
Mother Lu, not too far away, was no less surprised than her guests.
She held her husband’s hand in disbelief. “Am I seeing it right? Did our son just carry a girl upstairs?”
“No, you are right. I can’t believe he didn’t even come and greet us when he got home,” said Father Lu in a huff.
Mother Lu couldn’t help but nod in agreement and grumbled. “Why didn’t he introduce his girlfriend to us if he is bringing her home?”
Mother Lu had already accepted the fact that the girl that Lu Jue was carrying was his girlfriend. She knew her son well. Even though he had recovered from his autism, he still did not like physical contact and was generally cold with others around him. There was no way that he would carry her like that if he didn’t like her.
“There’s no rush. We should be seeing her soon.”
Mother Lu broke into a smile. She looked forward to meeting the girl that her son likes.
Ning Zhi’s face was bright red, let it be from her fever or embarrassment. She lifted her head and stared at Lu Jue. “How much longer are you going to carry me for?”
Suddenly, Lu Jue loosened up his grip a little on one of his hands.
Ning Zhi felt her body falling, and she quickly threw her arms around Lu Jue’s neck. “What are you doing?!”
“Oh, I’m sorry. My hand slipped a little.” Lu Jue loved it when she held onto him tightly. The action was so intimate and familiar to him. It was as if they had done this many times before in the past.
His thin lips curved upward slightly.
Ning Zhi saw a little sun pop out in the indicator over Lu Jue’s head.
Ning Zhi, “……”
Lu Jue had turned bad. He did that on purpose to startle her.
Ning Zhi harrumphed and harvested the little sun. There was no reason to let it go to waste.
Informed by the butler, Dr. Jin had arrived at Lu Jue’s room on the second floor. He had thought that his patient was Lu Jue. Lo and behold, he suddenly saw a girl inside Lu Jue’s room.
The girl, who looked lively and pretty, brightened the usually dull gray room.
Lu Jue sat next to the girl and looked over at her from time to time. It was obvious that he was trying very hard to restrain himself.
“Young Master Lu Jue,” said Dr. Jin as he walked over to them.
“She’s running a fever,” said Lu Jue, not wasting any time.
“Hi, Dr. Jin.” Ning Zhi had encountered Dr. Jin before, so she nodded and greeted him unconsciously.
Dr. Jin just assumed that Lu Jue had mentioned his name to her. “Hi.”
Next to them, Lu Jue’s eyes darkened a little. It was obvious that Ning Zhi knew Dr. Jin, but it didn’t look like Dr. Jin knew who she was.
She seemed to know a lot about him.
Dr. Jin gave Ning Zhi a check-up, prescribed her some medicine, and left after telling her what she needed to know.
Lu Jue went and got some hot water for Ning Zhi personally. “Have some and take your medications.”
Ning Zhi didn’t feel awkward about that at all. She took the glass from Lu Jue and took a few sips. The water made her throat feel better. She got up and got ready to leave after she had taken the medications.
She and Lu Jue were strangers right now, and she had no legitimate reasons to stay behind.
