Chapter 376 – If Ning Zhi would have seen the little black clouds over Lu Jue’s head if she was there. (3)

“Stop with the silly talk already, Xiao Zhi.” Mother Lin looked at Ning Zhi disapprovingly.
“What my parents left for me. Give them back to me.” Ning Zhi repeated herself.
The coldness on Ning Zhi’s face made Mother Lin worry that if the situation continued, they would just embarrass themselves in front of the guest. Thus, she finally gave in. “Wait here.”
After a long while, Mother Lin returned and gave the little box to Ning Zhi. “I was going to give it to you after you got married. Since you insist, I will give it to you now.”
Ning Zhi took the little box from Mother Lin and opened it up. Inside, only a photo was left, and the little jade stamp was nowhere to be found.
Her eyes darkened some. She looked straight at Lin Tiantian and said, “You took my little jade stamp. Hand it back.”
She didn’t even need to guess. She knew it was Lin Tiantian who had taken it.
Lin Tiantian had no idea how Ning Zhi would know that there was a little jade stamp and that she was the one who took it. Lin Tiantian’s voice showed her panic. “What little jade stamp? I don’t know what you are talking about, and I certainly didn’t take it. Don’t go around accusing people, Ning Zhi.”
She had dreamt that the little jade stamp was something very important, and as such, she asked her mother for it the first thing after she had woken up and immediately hid it away.
“I am going to say it one more time. Return my little jade stamp to me. Do you really think that it will be yours if you hid it?” Ning Zhi looked coldly at Lin Tiantian’s greedy and stupid face.
Lin Tiantian maintained what she had said. “I have no idea what you are talking about.”
Ning Zhi turned to look at Mother Lin. “Are you sure that you are not going to return my little jade stamp to me? They were left to me by my parents.”
Mother Lin sided with her daughter at the end of the day. “Xiao Zhi, your parents passed away suddenly, and the photos were all they had left for you.”
Yu Jia chimed in as well. “Xiao Zhi, I will take good care of you for your parents from now on.”
Ning Zhi didn’t even bother looking over at him. “Sooner or later, the thief will have to return the stolen goods to their rightful owner.”
Ning Zhi snickered. The little jade stamp was of no use to Lin Tiantian. Her grandfather would not accept Lin Tiantian as his granddaughter from the little jade stamp alone.
With that said, Ning Zhi refused to waste any more time engaging with them. She departed from the Lin family under Mother Lin and Lin Tiantian’s shameful and awkward looks.
That afternoon.
Lu Jue finally couldn’t help but come over to the Lin’s.
Lin Tiantian was so excited that her face turned red.
“I am looking for Zhizhi.”
Lu Jue was still in his red shirt today. The blood-red shirt made his skin look colder and fairer. That, along with his pitch-black eyes and clear and cold face, made him indescribably attractive.
The smile froze on Lin Tiantian’s face. She steadied her heartbeat and lied to Lu Jue’s face. “She took off with a man, and we have no idea where she went.”
Lu Jue studied Lin Tiantian sternly.
“I am telling the truth. She had taken off from the Lin’s this morning.” Lin Tiantian could feel her scalp tingle under his intense stare. “She was fond of someone, and she left with him. She even yelled at my mom and me before she left.”
Lin Tiantian glanced over at Lu Jue as she spoke. “My family raised Ning Zhi for a very long time, and she was so unappreciative of everything that we have done for her. My mom was so upset that she had almost fallen ill from it. She was still laying down in bed. Ning Zhi is so inconsiderate of others.”
Lu Jue’s tips were pinched shut tightly. Had Ning Zhi been there, she would have been able to see the little black cloud with lightning that had popped up in the indicator over Lu Jue’s head.
