Chapter 387 – “May I please have the Ning’s little princess?” (4)
Ning Zhi sat to one side docilely. She was completely unlike the little vixen the night before who was trying to seduce Lu Jue to earn little suns. She said in a very considerate way, “Grandpa, I heard that you had a good relationship with the Lu family. It is better that he calls you Grandpa Ning.”
Old Mr. Ning ed on this granddaughter of his and would never disagree with anything that she said.
“What is the purpose of your visit?” asked Old Mr. Ning.
Lu Jue gave Ning Zhi a look and replied slowly. “I came to pay you a visit in my father’s place.”
Old Mr. Ning seemed more relaxed.
“And, I also wanted to see Zhizhi.” Lu Jue was a very honest one.
Old Mr. Ning’s beard stuck straight up right away. “It’s not your place to visit my granddaughter.” How dare him! Eyeing his granddaughter right in front of him.
Seeing that Old Mr. Ning was upset, Ning Zhi chimed in quickly. “Grandpa, Lu Jue is my boyfriend.”
The mood was solemn inside the study.
Lu Jue stood docilely in front of the desk, answering Old Mr. Ning’s questions.
Ning Zhi waited calmly outside. With her last experience, she wasn’t worried at all.
If Old Mr. Ning had approved of the old Lu Jue, the Lu Jue who had recovered would surely be able to handle Old Mr. Ning.
The door to the study opened after a long while.
Old Mr. Ning was the first to walk out of the room.
“Grandpa.”
She then looked over at Lu Jue who was following behind Old Mr. Ning. She saw his lips curved upward and his black eyes limpid and bright.
After her grandfather had walked past her, she walked closer to Lu Jue and asked him in a low voice. “What did you two talk about?”
Ning Zhi’s limpid black eyes were filled with curiosity. She looked very cute the way she was.
Lu Jue grabbed her hand stealthily. “I asked girlfriend for the hand of the Ning’s little princess.”
Ning Zhi’s lips curved upward when she heard Lu Jue’s words. She tickled the center of Lu Jue’s palm with the tip of her finger.
She wanted to ask Lu Jue what her grandfather’s reaction was and whether he had consented to it when, the very next second, Old Mr. Ning who was walking in front whipped around abruptly.
Ning Zhi didn’t have a chance to let go of Lu Jue’s hand and her grandfather saw them holding hands.
She was nervous and panicky. She felt ashamed like a high school kid whose family had just found out that she was dating.
Old Mr. Ning’s eyes widened. In his mind, Lu Jue was the crux of the problem and a bad influence on his granddaughter.
“Xiao Jiang, see this young man out.” Old Mr. Ning had the butler throw Lu Jue out of the house.
“How long are you going to hold her hand for?” Old Mr. Ning looked sternly at Lu Jue’s hand that was holding tightly ontoNing Zhi’s. He pounded the floor with his cane, gesturing Lu Jue to let go.
“This way please, Young Master Lu Jue.” The butler walked forward to see Lu Jue out per Old Mr. Ning’s instructions.
Ning Zhi figured out her grandfather’s reaction by now. He objected to it, not surprisingly.
With her past experience, Ning Zhi knew that her grandfather would not object to it adamantly as long as it was what she wanted. He respected her feelings.
As such, she was neither worried nor anxious.
Lu Jue squeezed her hand some before he let go of her.
“I’ll come visit you again on another day, Grandpa Ning.” Lu Jue looked very relaxed. His eyes that was looking at Ning Zhi was moist and bright, with a hint of an unreconciled feeling. It was as though he was whining to her that her grandfather did not like him.
Ning Zhi smiled stealthily. Much like before, Lu Jue was afraid of her grandfather.
Lu Jue must fly back to City B for his company business.
Ning Zhi did not have a lot of free time in the days that followed. She started a foundation for those with autism.
For a long of families that were not well off, they were unable to afford the treatment for autism at all. As such, many of the children received no treatment at an early age and their condition worsened. They became burdens of their family and some even caused their families to fall apart.
Ning Zhi had never been a compassionate person. If it wasn’t for Lu Jue, she had never paid a lot of attention to autism or knew much about it.
Now, it had all changed. She felt that every star is worth protecting.
She hope that she would have the opportunity to help all the silent stars.
