Chapter 39: Expired Milk
“Didn’t you want to kill me?” Shi Tao sat up and leaned against the white wall.
When he saw Shi Tao’s cold and heartless expression, Qin Zhan was suddenly at a loss for words. This was what he had always wanted to see. This woman was no longer shamelessly pestering him, no longer seducing him with a smile, but drawing a clear line between them. However, why was he panicking when Shi Tao looked at him coldly?
“Qin Zhan, you’re really strange. Since you want to kill me, why did you save me?” Shi Tao noticed Qin Zhan’s helplessness but was no longer in the mood to play around with him.
Her mind was filled with death. Qin Zhan wanted to kill her, and she was really going to die last night. She was about to be killed by Qin Zhan. She knew that she did not have the ability to take revenge, but she could still lose her temper.
Upon hearing Shi Tao’s question, the butler at the door hurriedly explained. “Young Madam, you’ve misunderstood.. Why would the Young Master want to kill you? You fainted because you drank expired milk.” At the end of his speech, the butler was a little uncertain, because the Young Master had ordered him to put the milk inside.
At that time, he disagreed. This couple shouldn’t joke too much. What if something really happened? He didn’t expect his jinx to be so accurate. Not only did something happen to Young Madam, she almost lost her life.
When Shi Tao heard this, she did not say much. Anyway, she was already in such a state and did not have the energy to quarrel with Qin Zhan.
“Butler, I’m hungry.” When Shi Tao saw the porridge in the butler’s hands, her voice was weak but her tone was extremely cold.
After the butler passed the porridge to Shi Tao, he went out and left the large ward to the couple.
“Drink slowly, no one is fighting with you.”
Hearing Qin Zhan’s disdainful words, Shi Tao clenched her fists and looked at Qin Zhan mockingly.
“No one is competing with me, but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to finish this meal.”
Hearing Shi Tao’s sarcastic words, Qin Zhan frowned and narrowed his eyes.
“I’ll get the chef to give you more food when we get home today.”
Shi Tao heard Qin Zhan’s soft voice and stared at him in disbelief. Was the person in front of her really Qin Zhan? Could it be that someone was pretending to be him? Otherwise, why would there be a guilty and gentle expression on his face?
Qin Zhan’s expression changed immediately when he saw Shi Tao’s expression. He really couldn’t be nice to her. He snatched the bowl and chopsticks from Shi Tao’s hands and slammed them onto the table.
“What are you doing? I’m not full yet.” Shi Tao looked at Qin Zhan angrily and was about to reach for the porridge when Qin Zhan stopped her.
“You haven’t recovered yet, you can’t eat too much.”
When Shi Tao heard that this person was going to starve him again, she frowned and glared fiercely at Qin Zhan. Due to her illness, her mind was in a state of chaos. She no longer had any scruples or caution.
“Qin Zhan, you want to starve me again. Have you forgotten why I went to the hospital? It was because you didn’t let me eat my fill and even let me drink my expired milk that I became like this.” As she spoke, Shi Tao started crying.
This time, her face was ghastly pale without any makeup. She was even paler and more haggard than Qin Zhan, who had been sick all year round. Her big and round eyes were drooping because of her weakness. Even the corners of her eyes were drooping, giving off an extremely aggrieved and pitiful feeling.
