Chapter 34 There Are Finally Living Creatures in the Farm
Just as Li Wei was overcome with emotion, he noticed that a few small furry heads appeared to be moving at the entrance to the chicken farm.
“Chirp… Chirp…”
Li Wei recognized these sweet voices as the system-exchanged goods arriving to report! He made his way to the farm’s entrance and squatted to greet the group of cuties.
Twenty tiny yellow guys were the first to approach Li Wei. They stumbled as they moved, appearing a little alarmed, and their small red-white mouths were making “cheep cheep” sounds.
However, they immediately ran over with their little feet when they noticed Li Wei. The cries became more frequent, cheerful as if they had found their “father.”
‘They’re so cute!’ Li Wei’s heart almost melted as he watched these tiny round heads wriggle under his feet. Someone might even mistake them for a bunch of yellow tennis balls.
He sat on the ground and picked one up randomly, using his fingers to stroke the chick’s furry body. The little chick seemed to enjoy it and even started rolling around in Li Wei’s palm. It was very amusing.
Another group of clumsy-footed little guys gathered around Li Wei in a hurry. They were 20 yellow and white ducklings. They were undoubtedly ducks in every way.
They enjoyed spreading their wings as though they wished to soar high into the sky. At the same time, they wandered like drunken men, stumbling and scrounging for food on the ground with their long beaks.
Li Wei had a flashback to the first time he worked on a farm when he saw this scene. His assignment to care for these tiny creatures back then was an experience he will never forget. “Welcome to my farm!” Li Wei was very patient. He picked up the chickens and ducks one by one. While playing with them, he also examined their health.
As it turned out, these little fellas had a common physical characteristic— they were all bursting with energy! A panel would also appear on the system interface each time Li Wei picked up a chick.
[Species]: Level 1 ordinary chicken
[Age]: just hatched
(Status]: full of energy!
(Health): the system has completed the vaccine injection! It is very healthy!

The attributes displayed on the interface were very detailed and professional. This made Li Wei very satisfied. At least the money spent was worth it. He carefully placed the little ones in their new home.
There were few chicks and ducklings, so there was plenty of iron mesh coop space on the farm. Even if each coop had three chicks or ducklings, it would still not be cramped.
Li Wei looked at the little guys playing happily in the cage and said jokingly, “The place you’re living in is equivalent to a villa. It’s so spacious!” Then, he turned on the heat lamps in the chicken farm to ensure that the little cuties would not catch a cold at night.
Finally, he returned to the warehouse and carried a large bag of chicken and duck feed. The ingredients list provided by the system also had a thoughtful prompt. It showed that the feed was a mixture of nutrients, such as small fish and earthworms.
“The Level 1 feed is already so nutritious? It looks like they’re going to grow very quickly!” Compared to the other products, the feed for chickens and ducks was cheap.
200 Empire Dollars was enough to buy such a big bag, which weighed at least 10 kilograms. However, Li Wei knew that this was just the beginning.
Livestock breeding was far more complicated and varied than crops. The farm owner needed to take great care of the environment, hygiene, food, water, and other factors.
When the livestock grew up, they would have to change their feed. Otherwise, the quality of the hatched eggs would be inferior. This stage was what Li Wei was looking forward to the most!
Based on the knowledge he had read in the system’s farm encyclopedia, he learned that a chicken or duck egg could provide more vitality than most crops. Depending on the quality of the chickens and ducks raised, the effect of eggs would be about 0.1 to 0.3!
Moreover, this was only the vitality the Level 1 chickens and ducks provided. With more money, he could also buy better breeds of chickens and ducks to raise in the future. The higher the level, the stronger the effect!
Li Wei walked back and forth on the chicken farm, looking at the chickens and ducks in the cage, drinking and eating with satisfaction, and he also felt a sense of accomplishment. With livestock as a companion, the farm has advanced significantly!
He believed that it would not be long before his farm’s level increased, too. When that happens, the system would likely unlock new items and functions. This was also why Li Wei did not spend all his money. Perhaps some goods may require a significant sum of money in the future.
In short, he could not develop without a plan. No matter how rich he was, he had to stick to his plan and rhythm. After all, he was the only person on the farm. He could not take any chances with his limited workforce. Nothing could be reckless on a farm dedicated to nature and science.
After he was through, Li Wei sat by the stream as usual and leaned against the pinwheel to rest. He felt at ease as he listened to the sounds coming from the chicken farm, looking over the peaceful farmland and the sunset on the horizon.
The farm’s affairs, however, were not over. It was time for the final, most critical task to be completed!
