Chapter 31 Why Did You Hit It? Hit me!

“They really want to have me killed…”

Li Zheng hesitated for a moment. “I’ll pick a random one… alright, this will do.”

The danger level behind all three metal doors was the same, so it didn’t matter which room he entered.

The door opened.

Taking out the Desert Eagle, Li Zheng checked the snake grass needles and its shooting mode. After making the preparation, he walked in.

The film slowly disappeared. Li Zheng held the Desert Eagle in his hand and stared straight ahead, focusing on the detector.

He was ready to dodge.

(Danger!)

“Dodge!”

As usual, although he couldn’t do an elegant somersault, he was able to dodge successfully.

Li Zheng rolled to the side.

“BOOM!”

A loud explosion erupted at the entrance, and sparks flew in all directions, burning a few tiny holes in Li Zheng’s clothes.

“Chirp, chirp!”

Chirpy cried out in pain and tried to get out of his pocket, but Li Zheng stopped it.

“Stay there, don’t panic, cough…”

Li Zheng quickly got up and started running as he comforted Chirpy.

He noticed that the enemy was using a weapon similar to a howitzer.

It was not an animal!

This thought flashed through Li Zheng’s mind, and he looked in the direction of the attack.

It was a humanoid creature wearing strange armor, holding a revolver in its hand. The muzzle of the revolver moved along with its body.

(Danger!)

The word on the detector suddenly turned red, and Li Zheng saw the muzzle of the revolver flash. The light gunshot was almost inaudible, and a grenade was fired at him.

“Isn’t it an orange-red type danger?”

Li Zheng gritted his teeth. Without thinking further, he endured the pain in his ribs and pounced forward, rolling to avoid the attack.

“BOOM!”

“Pfft.”

Li Zheng spat out a mouthful of blood, his lungs burning with pain.

“Oh no, my broken ribs had a second injury when I rolled just now. I don’t know if my internal organs were injured!”

Li Zheng’s eyes were filled with anger. If he were to rent the nanomachines again, he would not have enough power cores.

“I have to find a way to counterattack. I can’t just take this!”

Li Zheng took a quick glance and realized that the enemy had not moved from its spot. It only turned around in the direction he ran in, the muzzle of the gun following him like a shadow.

“There’s an interval between shots!”

Li Zheng raised his hand and activated its special ability. “Ice and Fire Resistance!”

“Swish!”

The Desert Eagle let out a soft gunshot. The snake grass needles were wrapped in ice and rapidly rotated toward the humanoid creature.

“Shit…”

The humanoid creature suddenly twisted its body like a slug. Its entire body seemed boneless as it twisted into a strange shape and dodged the snake grass needle that was wrapped in ice!

“BOOM!”

When he saw the gun pointed at him, he quickly shut his mouth and continued to run.

“BOOM!”

Another shot, this time even closer. Li Zheng felt as if his back had been hit by a heavy hammer. He groaned and almost couldn’t breathe.

“What is this thing? The weapon is so overpowered!”

Li Zheng didn’t dare to speak, and the thought only lingered in his mind.

The detector seemed to have broken down. It only warned Li Zheng that it was dangerous, but it did not even give him the enemy’s type.

There was only a timer that kept counting down (00:55).

Li Zheng was in despair. He opened the handbook and tried to scan it.

The modified humanoid fired again, and the sound of the explosion was closer to Li Zheng than before.

After finally catching his breath, Li Zheng connected all the clues and deduced this was his only way out.

“There are still 48 seconds left. If I hold on until it runs out of energy, will I be safe?”

Li Zheng was panting heavily, vexed.

If his ribs were not injured, it would have been easy for him to last this long.

Every time the modified humanoid fired a shot, there would be a long forward swing action. If he took advantage of this lag, he could dodge the grenade fired by the cannon.

However, due to the injury on his ribs, Li Zheng felt the pain tormenting him even as he ran and dodged.

Li Zheng was trying to come up with a plan when he suddenly remembered something.
