Chapter 19: Extremely Shy
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Ye Mu’s complexion reddened and her shy eyes avoided Mo Shen’s candid gaze. She couldn’t help but mumble softly, “This type of thing should be talked about in private. How can we talk about it here?”
Mo Shen heard what she had said, and he couldn’t help but lift his brow as naturally as he did when he mentioned the topic, “Who else is here, other than me and you?”
“Even if there is no one else around, you can’t just be so frank like that…” Ye Mu unhappily glared at Mo Shen.
Her cheeks were blushed crimson and the way she was using her eyes to reprimand him looked incredibly cute in Mo Shen’s eyes. He laughed out loud, his large hand pinched Ye Mu’s cheek before asking out loud, “Is little Mu feeling a little shy?”
“…” Ye Mu shut her mouth tightly, not willing to say anything.
Mo Shen wasn’t kidding about bringing Ye Mu to buy her own underwear. He really did lead her over to the store, but he didn’t enter the establishment as he waited outside for her instead.
Ye Mu’s face was still red from Mo Shen’s words earlier. After entering the lingerie store, without even looking at what was being sold, she immediately bought two sets of undergarments in her size and left in a hurry.
During the short while that Mo Shen was standing outside the lingerie store, a lot of women had passed by. They couldn’t help but glance at Mo Shen a few more times.
“What a handsome man! Is he here to accompany his wife to choose some lingerie?”
“How considerate…”
“…”
As Ye Mu carried her bag out the door, she bit on her lips shyly. Her lips became so red that it looked as if they were about to bleed, “Let’s go…”
Mo Shen automatically took the bag in her hand. Compared to Ye Mu, Mo Shen was calm and composed.
When they returned to the Hua Jing district, Ye Mu noticed that Mo Shen was about to cook a feast for her again. Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Ye Mu wanted to lend him a hand.
Since it was rare for her to help him in the cooking process, Mo Shen didn’t refuse her request.
He allowed her to do what she wanted.
As Ye Mu was cooking in the kitchen, Yan Qi contacted Mo Shen.
He walked to the balcony of the living room to take the call and inquired bluntly, “How did the investigation go?”
Yan Qi didn’t talk nonsense and quickly conveyed the news that Mo Shen wanted to know, “Madam did experience some injustice in the production team today.”
As Yan Qi’s words fell, he suddenly paused—unsure if he should continue or not.
“Carry on,” Mo Shen said sternly. He took a quick glance at Ye Mu’s who was in the kitchen.
“A male actor named Song Zhuochen in the production cast added a kiss scene by force today…” Yan Qi slowly told Mo Shen the news.
Soon, Yan Qi felt a terrifying chill seeping through the phone. Afraid of what was about to happen if he delayed any further, he told Mo Shen everything regarding today’s incident with his scalp turning numb as every second passed in the conversation.
Mo Shen stayed silent for the entire two minutes. Then, he spoke coldly to Yan Qi, “I understand. Take note of this man on my behalf.”
“Young Uncle, the meal is ready,” Ye Mu’s call rang out from the kitchen.
Mo Shen put his phone away and walked towards the kitchen.
Ye Mu pointed at the two bowls on the kitchen table. She felt slightly embarrassed, “I only know how to make this.”
Mo Shen looked at the two bowls of noodles, raised his hand, and stroked his cuff silently. Then, he lifted his chopsticks to taste the food.
Ye Mu didn’t touch her chopsticks for some time, waiting for Mo Shen’s response. The latter didn’t give any feedback for a long while so she blurted out, “How is it?”
“Not bad.” Mo Shen smiled lightly at her. He didn’t seem to be lying.
Ye Mu picked her chopsticks up to try a bite too and the taste really wasn’t that bad, “It is acceptable.”
Mo Shen watched her. His mind hadn’t forgotten and still lingered with the words that his assistant had just told him earlier as he asked, “Nothing special happened at the set today?”
“No,” Ye Mu replied without thinking as her eyes were focused on the noodles that she had picked up with her chopsticks.
Mo Shen had already set down his chopsticks. The low timbre of his voice seemed to carry a bewitching quality, “Did you shoot an intimate scene?”
Mo Shen’s question surprised Ye Mu so much that her arm turned rigid involuntarily. As she gripped the noodles with the chopsticks, minute changes appeared on her expression and she nodded honestly, “Yes, there was an impromptu kiss scene today.”
Speaking of that kiss, Ye Mu still felt aggrieved in her heart. She unintentionally raised her hand to pour more of the sauce on the table into her bowl, looking like she was venting her anger.
She lowered her head to eat her noodles. When she lifted it again, there was sauce all over the corners of her mouth. She asked Mo Shen depressively, “Young Uncle… will you mind if I act in intimate scenes in the future?”
Mo Shen was her husband, so she should take his feelings into consideration.
She had just raised her head when Mo Shen extended his hand over and he clasped her chin firmly. That pair of profound eyes stared at Ye Mu as his lips approached her own and swooped down.
Ye Mu reacted subconsciously in a fluster as her two hands, hanging by her side, involuntarily grabbed onto his clothes.
Mo Shen didn’t make any huge movements, only kissing her red lips.
Quickly, he released her and his drooping eyes stared right at her as he replied, “I do mind.”
He was very frank—he minded.
Thanks to this kiss, Ye Mu’s heartbeat turned into a mess that she couldn’t placate. She didn’t dare to look at Mo Shen anymore as she nodded her head in a low but pleasant voice, “I understand. I will try my best to avoid those scenes…”
Hearing her reply, Mo Shen started smiling and his large hand caressed her hair.
The relationship between the two of them had started to turn for the better after the awkwardness was resolved a few days ago. But now, because of a kiss, Ye Mu noticed that she was starting to feel strange again. Throughout the night, she couldn’t concentrate on memorizing her lines as she surreptitiously glanced at Mo Shen a few times.
However, whenever Mo Shen noticed her gaze and looked in her direction. She would rapidly shift her gaze and avoid Mo Shen’s eyes again.
When Mo Shen was done bathing, she was still sitting on the couch in the bedroom—looking at the script.
“It’s already so late, are you still not going to sleep?” Mo Shen asked. His bathrobe wrapped around his body as he rubbed his hair dry while looking at her.
Ye Mu bent her head, then she raised the script in her hands all of a sudden and completely blocked Mo Shen from her line of sight.
“I’m going to sleep now.”
After saying that, she took small steps towards the bedside and laid down after lifting the quilt, wrapping herself up from head to toe.
Mo Shen glanced at the huge lump under the quilt; he couldn’t neither see Ye Mu’s head nor legs. He couldn’t help but shake his head in exasperation.
After he got onto the bed, Ye Mu’s figure abruptly froze. Her entire body went rigid.
Even now, she still wasn’t used to sleeping in the same bed as Mo Shen.
“Are you training to hold your breath?” Mo Shen asked teasingly. He lightly tugged on the quilt that was covering her face.
Ye Mu bit her lips and her two hands grasped tightly onto the hem of the quilt, refusing to speak.
Looking at her, Mo Shen supported his neck with one hand and the other pressed down on her waist, “Sleep early. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Ye Mu raised her head slightly to look at him and also returned his greetings.
For some reason, she felt a bit relieved.
The next day, Ye Mu still had a rivalry scene with Song Zhuochen in the filming set. But Song Zhuochen did not appear in the set even after waiting for a long time.
Eventually, the director explained to everyone that Song Zhuochen only needed to act in that number of scenes. Although Ma Yongchun had said these words to try and placate the crowd and convince them that everything was under control, everyone could feel that he was somewhat anxious.
Ye Mu felt that it was strange for Song Zhuochen to be absent in the set. However, she didn’t think that she was the reason for his absence. Settling into her character, she prepared for the upcoming second scene of the day when a gentle voice drifted towards the production team.
“I’m here to visit the director. How is the shoot going?” Unsure as to exactly when she arrived, but Ye Qiyi was talking to the director—who had been about to start filming.
Before the director could reply to her words, her smiling eyes slanted slightly and she saw Ye Mu by accident. The smile on her face froze involuntarily.
Ye Mu, what was she doing here?!!
