Chapter 28: Preparing For Their Honeymoon
The endorsement contract between Ye Mu and the Mo family was quickly finalized. According to the requirements of the Mo family’s contract, Ye Mu must cooperate with the activities of this brand. This was also a sort of exposure for Ye Mu, and it wasn’t a negative aspect at all.
Unfortunately, Ye Mu was still a newbie in the industry. So, she wasn’t familiar with dealing with the media. Especially against a reporter who was extremely concerned about her romantic life. She wasn’t used to lying, so when others asked her a question, she started stammering.
“Miss Ye, do you have any male celebrities whom you admire within this circle? According to the tabloids, HT magazine’s male model is your classmate—will you partner with him in the future? Will there be any space for development?” Speaking rapidly, the reporter blocked Ye Mu with a microphone and asked relentlessly.
As Ye Mu looked at the faces of the crowd, there was some hesitation on her face, “I…”
“That’s it. Today is a day dedicated to our product, so we still hope that everyone will direct their attention to our brand.” When Ji An saw that Ye Mu was about to slip up, she immediately walked forwards and looked at the crowd with a smiling expression—to halt their questions.
Just when there was some chaos on the scene, Yan Shun’er walked out from behind the glass door, there was a bouquet of smiles on her face, “There are so many reporters here today? Xiao Mu, you really are very popular.”
Ye Mu’s gaze passed through the few reporters to look at the speaking Yan Shun’er. How strange, where in the world did this Yan Shun’er pop out from?
“Miss Yan, why have you come?” As soon as a reporter saw Yan Shun’er, he immediately raised the microphone towards her.
How boring was it to simply talk about the content of the product? The reporters who had come today to show the Mo family respect still hoped to write about the private lives of their artists.
Yan Shun’er was born as a child actress so she was comfortable with facing the cameras. She raised her hand to smooth out her hair and stood directly next to Ye Mu in her high heels, “I’m Ye Mu’s classmate. She was feeling slightly anxious so she specially asked me to come over and cheer her on.”
Upon looking at Yan Shun’er, her words seemed logical and they all nodded in understanding. Conversely, Ye Mu was stunned. When did she become friends with Yan Shun’er?
“You know her?” When she saw Yan Shun’er, Ji An asked softly beside Ye Mu with a frown.
Ye Mu moved her red lips, still maintaining the polite smile towards the reporters on her face, and replied, “Not really, I didn’t call her over.”
Ji An nodded and was very straightforward. Standing between Ye Mu and Yan Shun’er, she smirked coldly—without caring about the many reporters at the scene—and said, “Yan Shun’er? I remember that we didn’t invite you over to our activity? Now you say that you’re here to encourage Ye Mu. Even so, this isn’t the way you should try to steal the spotlight.”
“You…” Yan Shun’er didn’t think that Ji An would expose her in front of so many people and gritted her teeth quietly. However, she couldn’t maintain the smile on her face anymore as she stared directly at Ye Mu, “Xiao Mu, you asked me to come over. How come you’ve forgotten so quickly?”
Did this Yan Shun’er still think that she was at school? That she would let her do whatever she wished?
“I’m sorry but I didn’t invite you over,” Ye Mu laughed lightly and kept the gentle expression on her face.
Yan Shun’er’s pupils shrank abruptly and the hands by her side curled up silently, “Is it possible that I remembered wrongly?”
Ji An—who was standing to the side—swept her gaze thoroughly over Yan Shun’er. Since she wasn’t New Earth’s artist, she could be as blunt as she usually was, “Miss Yan really knows how to jest. In this city, who doesn’t know that you have excellent skills at stealing the limelight, appearing wherever there is news? Heh heh… no wonder you’re a natural-born child actress, your technique sure is sophisticated!”
It was impossible for anyone to withstand such sarcasm. Yan Shun’er’s complexion immediately turned sour. The reporters wouldn’t possibly miss such an entertaining moment and shot these scenes with their cameras on the spot.
“It looks like I made a mistake today.” Yan Shun’er was somewhat humiliated at that moment and glared viciously at Ye Mu, reminding her, “Xiao Mu, for the sake of our relationship in college, I have to warn you of something. Your manager isn’t that great! Top female manager? I don’t think so!”
Ji An smiled faintly—she wouldn’t get angry based on Yan Shun’er’s few words.
At this moment, Ji An’s gaze was extremely chilly. At least, Yan Shun’er did not dare to look her in the eyes. Swallowing her saliva, she pushed the crowd apart and walked out.
Faced with such explosive news, right after the filming ended. Those reporters didn’t even wait till the second day before posting it onto the television and newspapers.
After the activity was over, Ye Mu was slightly worried about Ji An, “Sister Ji, is there really no consequence to what you said?”
“Don’t worry. As a celebrity, it’s impossible to not have the slightest bit of negative news. That will make people feel that you’re deliberately covering up something. Let them post it, the best would be if they were to release news that you don’t get along with Yan Shun’er… At least in the future, everyone will know that they can’t put the two of you together for an activity.” Pouring a cup of water, Ji An smiled while drinking the water.
Since she had given herself over to Ji An, it was only natural that she should trust her in all of her decisions.
However, when this piece of news was broadcasted on television, it was coincidentally seen by Gu Yiming. The emotions that Gu Yiming barely managed to suppress these past few days surged once more. He smoked two cigarettes to calm his nerves before he grabbed his coat and drove towards New Earth as if he was in a trance. He didn’t sit in his car for too long before he saw Ye Mu leave the New Earth building to take a call.
It wasn’t clear who Ye Mu was talking to the whole time, but the smile on her face never faded despite having ended the call. As Gu Yiming looked at the genuine smile on her face, his hand that held onto the steering wheel tightened involuntarily. But before he could even get out of the car, Ye Mu raced in his direction.
Did she notice him?
Just when this expectation popped out from Gu Yiming, he saw Ye Mu walk close to the car in front of him. He could hear her voice as she spoke.
“Can we drop by the park before going home? My classmate placed something there and asked me to go pick it up,” Ye Mu asked inquiringly as she pulled the car door open.
Due to her words, Mo Shen—who was in the car—couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, “Of course you can.”
As soon as Ye Mu got in the car, that considerably exorbitant car sped off in the distance.
Even Gu Yiming himself was unsure why, but a violent burst of rage surged out of Gu Yiming’s heart as his hand slammed down fiercely onto the steering wheel. The fury that coursed through his blood at this moment made the veins on his neck bulge and he had had to raise his hand to loosen the tie. A sour feeling spread through the carriage. Why did he seem to think that he was a bit jealous of the man beside Ye Mu?
Ye Mu went into the park to retrieve the item and after taking a few deep breaths, she said, “Now that I have this thing, I can finally rest properly for the next few days.”
“You don’t have work for the next few days?” Mo Shen asked out loud.
Ye Mu nodded her head, “Mhmm, not at the moment.”
“That’s right in time for our honeymoon,” Mo Shen spoke nonchalantly as he drove attentively.
“Our honeymoon?” Ye Mu asked in a daze as she was stunned in place.
Mo Shen inclined his head with a faint smile, “It just so happens that I have some free time recently. Is there any place that little madam especially wants to visit?”
