“Hey, Asher Kens! I have gastric problems so I can’t drink…”
Asher bent down and got into the car. His secretary turned to him and said, “Mr. Kens, Mr. Jones sent a message and said that she’s already in the marketing department.”
“Alright.”
When Claire rushed to the human resources department, Mr. Jones was already waiting for her in the manager’s office.
“I’m sorry–” she walked to the manager’s desk and said, “I’m a few minutes late.”
Mr. Jones looked at her and replied, “It’s alright.”
When the manager of the Human Resources department heard him say that, she decided to not press on this matter.
Just who was she? As Mr. Ken’s personal assistant, Mr. Jones came and managed her registration as an ordinary employee? He even waited for her so patiently. She must be someone with a strong background.
Yet the manager did not expect the new employee to be a young and pretty girl.
Claire quickly got her identification tag. When Mr. Jones handed it to her, he said softly, “Work hard.”
She raised her head and looked at Mr. Jones, her eyes curving into a smile. “Thank you. I’ll work hard.”
Mr. Jones looked at her as though he had something else to say, but decided to hold his tongue instead. He cleared his throat and walked away.
Due to Mr. Jones’ attitude toward her, everyone in the human resources department was also kind to Claire. “Are you Claire? You can head to the marketing department now and familiarize yourself there.”
When Claire was waiting for the elevator, she held her identity tag in her hands and looked at it carefully.
Marketing department… Asher was true to his words–she was here as an intern indeed. She thought that he would consider her position as his wife and give her an easy job in the office.
Who knew that it would be the marketing department, and she happened to be an intern of Group B.
Well, she was fortunate enough that Asher did not throw her in the cleaning team.
She did not expect Asher to give her any special treatment, to begin with.
The marketing department was on the twelfth floor. When Claire walked out of the elevator and turned into the lobby, she ran into Caleb, who sent her to work this morning.
She was stunned. Did he happen to be working in Kens Corporation as well?
However, it was a working hour, and no ordinary worker would be able to stand in the corridor so leisurely… wandering around.
Claire walked over to him. Before she reached him, he turned around and saw her. His eyes brightened as he called her name, “Clare?”
“That’s me.” She smiled back in surprise. “Why are you here?”
“Why can’t I be here?” Caleb said and saw the identity tag in her hands. “You got sent to the marketing department?”
“Yes. I’m an intern in the marketing department,” she nodded as she said.
“What unit did you enroll in university?”
Claire answered honestly, “Finance.”
“A finance graduate is going to the marketing department?” Caleb raised his eyebrow. “Someone is definitely…”
Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by the footsteps of a pair of heels.
Caleb stopped talking, yet his face had no sense of distaste for being interrupted. Instead, he looked toward the sound of that pair of footsteps.
Claire was genuinely taken aback.
The woman who was walking toward them had chestnut curls, fair skin, a pair of pink lips, and delicate yet impeccable makeup. She wore an A-line skirt which accentuated her long legs.
If Claire was described as someone feminine with a refreshing sense of charm, then this woman was born to steal men’s hearts.
Even as a woman herself, Claire felt attracted to her involuntarily.
The woman walked up to Caleb and threw him a glance. “President Davis, you seem to be in a good mood. Are you having fun flirting with pretty girls?”
Caleb replied with a change of expression, “Who else could be prettier than you in this entire building, Eve Sanders?”
