Miss Cousin is Always Busy - Chapter 211
MCAB – Chapter 211
Jiang Mubai was deeply aware of the change in Jun Zishu’s attitude toward him. Originally, he thought that Jun Zishu was still in love with him, so he had deliberately tried to avoid meeting her gaze until now.
However, when they finally met eye-to-eye, he quickly realized that he had been mistaken.
The way Jun Zishu looked at him now was no longer the same as before. Moreover, the words she just said were full of sarcasm, and he could tell that her attitude toward him was by no means friendly.
This… Did she start to hate me because of her unrequited love? Jiang Mubai wondered to himself.
If Jun Zishu could hear Jiang Mubai’s thoughts right now, she would definitely get the urge to throw him out and let him play with the little cuties outside.
“Pal, please just keep your mouth shut,” Chen Beimo said as he tugged at Jiang Mubai. The two of them might have received a different treatment if they were dealing with a different group of girls. However, the girls currently before them were Ren Nanying, Jun Zishu, and Jun Zishu’s roommates. There was also an unfamiliar and super-scary forensic scientist here!
The two of them had no advantage here whatsoever.
The zombie’s stench was originally quite pungent already. After getting dissected, the smell became even worse. It was even more disgusting than the smell of a toilet and a garbage dump mixed together.
Eventually, even Jun Zishu started to cover her nose, her head growing a little dizzy after smelling the putrid smell for so long. As for Jun Zishu’s three roommates, they had already retreated a distance away.
Currently, the only person who remained steadfast was Liu Yingtong. There wasn’t even the slightest frown on her face as she sat before the dissected corpse.
“Uhm… Do you think we should retreat for now?” Ren Nanying asked as she looked at Jun Zishu. She felt that her nose might stop functioning if she continued sitting by the zombie corpse.
“I think that’s a feasible plan, Yingying,” Jun Zishu said in a serious manner, her way of addressing Ren Nanying eliciting a laugh from the latter.
“Huh? I just realized something about your names. One of you is ‘Shu(lose),’ while the other is ‘Ying(win),” Liu Manman said, her attention drawn toward the pronunciation of Jun Zishu’s and Ren Nanying’s names.[1]
“This means we are a match made in heaven,” Jun Zishu said with a faint smile on her face.
Wow. Little Fairy squealed in Jun Zishu’s mind with silent excitement.
Now that her host was becoming more and more proactive, didn’t this mean that Lord’s efforts were finally bearing fruit? Was the love between them finally going to blossom?
However, Little Fairy also couldn’t help but wonder why her host wasn’t asking whether Ren Nanying was the same person as her past lovers this time. If her host had asked about it now, she could finally tell her host everything. However, if her host didn’t ask, she couldn’t take the initiative to reveal it because of the division chief’s instructors.
“Also, I won’t ever lose,” Jun Zishu said confidently, her eyes looking like they were glittering under the kitchen lights.
“Yes, yes, yes. You’re the best, Boss.”
Room 412’s members began to flatter Jun Zishu. Everything their leader said was correct.
Ren Nanying’s heart shuddered when she heard the words “match made in heaven.” Everyone else, though, simply laughed and thought that Jun Zishu was joking.
Jiang Mubai had a lot of questions in his mind. However, he didn’t know how he should verbalize them. He also didn’t know in what capacity he should ask these questions. It was unlikely that these girls would be willing to talk about relationships with him in the current environment.
In reality, Jiang Mubai still found it a little unbelievable that Jun Zishu and Ren Nanying were cousins. Moreover, they looked like they had an excellent relationship. However, he had never noticed this before. Neither of these two girls had ever actively brought up each other in front of him. Even during the few times that they did speak about each other, they spoke as if they were unfamiliar with each other.
“Nanying, I have some things to talk to you about. Is it convenient for you?”
After hesitating for some time, Jiang Mubai eventually decided to speak with Ren Nanying. He felt that he would feel incredibly uncomfortable if he continued keeping his questions in his heart. Thus, he decided that it was best to just speak with Ren Nanying.
As soon as Jiang Mubai finished speaking, everyone in the kitchen turned to look at him. Chen Beimo, in particular, couldn’t help but be exasperated by his friend’s request. Although he could sympathize with what his friend was going through, now really wasn’t the time to talk about such things. After all, what would they do if the girls got angry? While they might not be so cruel as to chase them out, it still wouldn’t be pleasant to stay in a tense environment.
“If you have something to say, just say it here. It doesn’t really matter, anyway,” Ren Nanying said as she stretched out her long legs and placed a hand on Jun Zishu’s shoulder.
Honestly, Ren Nanying’s feelings toward Jiang Mubai were rather complicated. She seriously suspected that there was something wrong with this person’s eyes. Otherwise, why would he ignore a wonderful girl like Jun Zishu? However, when Ren Nanying thought about how she was the cause for Jiang Mubai rejecting Jun Zishu’s advances, she felt very fucked up inside.
However, not all was bad about this situation. Personally, she felt that it was fortunate that Jiang Mubai didn’t like Jun Zishu and that Jun Zishu no longer liked Jiang Mubai now. A person as wonderful as Jun Zishu deserved someone better.
After thinking up to this point, Ren Nanying couldn’t help but grow incredibly annoyed.
“That’s right, that’s right! If you have something to say, just say it here,” Liu Manman seconded Ren Nanying’s words. There was no way she could allow Ren Nanying and Jiang Mubai to have some alone time with each other.
“Please.”
Jiang Mubai looked at Ren Nanying with a pleading look.
At this time, Jun Zishu clicked her tongue and patted Ren Nanying on the shoulder. Then, she said to Jiang Mubai, “You don’t really have to avoid us if you want to say something, but since you feel embarrassed to do so, you two can just find a corner to have your talk.”
“Zishu, I…”
Ren Nanying looked at Jun Zishu worriedly. She didn’t want to create any misunderstandings that could ruin her improved relationship with Jun Zishu.
“I understand what you’re trying to say, and I’m sure you understand me as well. So, I won’t care what you two talk about. Just go ahead,” Jun Zishu said, yawning.
“Okay.” Ren Nanying felt relieved after hearing Jun Zishu’s words. Then, she stood up and angled her chin at Jiang Mubai, saying, “Let’s go, then.”
Jiang Mubai grew joyful when he heard this, and he promptly followed Ren Nanying.
Meanwhile, after seeing that the drama was over, Liu Yingtong returned her attention to the zombie corpse and returned his upper body to its original state. Then, she moved her focus to the zombie’s lower body.
“Wait, don’t tell me you’re going to…”
As the only male compatriot currently present in the kitchen, Chen Beimo had a bad feeling.
“This is also a worthy part to research. It is a part of the body, after all. In my eyes, there is no particular difference between it and other organs,” Liu Yingtong said. Before proceeding with her dissection, she switched to another pair of gloves since the previous pair was already incredibly dirty.
Afterward, Liu Yingtong stripped the zombie’s pants, and Lin Shu and Xu Qiu tilted their heads away.
“It doesn’t look like there is anything unusual about it aside from the color. It seems this color change encompasses the entire body,” Liu Yingtong said as she traced her scalpel around the base of the zombie’s reproduction organ.
“Are you really going to cut it apart?” Chen Beimo asked, feeling an inexplicable sense of fear and pain as he listened to Liu Yingtong’s words.
“I have no such intentions,” Liu Yingtong said as she retracted her scalpel and wiped it with a nearby cloth.
“It seems this uncle isn’t very good in bed,” Liu Manman said with a thoughtful look.
“What the hell. Don’t tell me you know about this stuff?” Xu Qiu asked in shock.
“Yes. Honestly, if possible, I don’t really want to know anything about it at all,” Liu Manman said, rolling her eyes at Xu Qiu as the latter’s words made her recall an unpleasant memory. “During our last summer vacation, didn’t I say that I was going to Shenzhen to work part-time?”
“Right. You said you were going to work in Taobao’s customer service,” Xu Qiu said, recalling the past. All four members of Room 412 had gone to work part-time during last year’s summer break.
“I did go and work for customer service, but do you know what product I was selling?”
“Erotic goods?” Lin Su guessed. That would explain how Liu Manman came to know so much about such things.
“No, no, no.” Liu Manman shook her head. “I was selling male enhancement drugs.”
“Pfft— Hahaha! Fuck! Hahahaha!”
Xu Qiu burst out laughing mercilessly while using Lin Su’s shoulder as support. Even Jun Zishu couldn’t help but grin a little when she heard Liu Manman’s words.
“I didn’t know I would be selling viagra at the time, but I couldn’t just abandon the job, either, since they were paying me three thousand a month. Moreover, all I needed to do was chat with people on the computer. I can even get commissions if I make enough sales,” Liu Manman continued, ignoring Xu Qiu’s laughter.
“What happened next?”
“I did my job, of course. I had to talk to a bunch of old men, look at their wieners, and recommend them the right medicine. I could feel my typing speed skyrocketing during that period. I looked at so many of those things and got so disgusted by what I saw that I don’t think I can ever find myself liking boys ever again. Oh, and we even had to dance Oppa Gangnam Style every morning before work. Our manager said that it promoted a lively atmosphere.”
“Oppa Fucking Gangnam Style.”
Xu Qiu’s laughter got so bad that she started slapping Lin Su’s thigh. Meanwhile, Lin Su finally had enough of Xu Qiu and caught the other party’s hand.
After hearing up to this point, even Liu Yingtong couldn’t help but smile and giggle a little, the sight giving Liu Manman a huge surprise. After all, Liu Yingtong had not made a single expression thus far, let alone a smile.
“Why didn’t you tell us about this back then? We could’ve had a laugh over it.”
“I wanted to seal this memory forever and forget about it originally,” Liu Manman said, putting on a sullen expression theatrically.
Liu Manman was the most theatrical person in Room 412, and she could switch from one extreme expression to another on-demand. Meanwhile, thanks to her little interruption, the heavy atmosphere in the kitchen instantly disappeared.
…
However, unlike the kitchen, the atmosphere in the corridor wasn’t as harmonious. With her arms crossed in front of her chest, Ren Nanying leaned against the wall beside the row of neatly arranged zombies and angled her chin as she asked, “What exactly do you want to say?”
Not knowing where he should start, Jiang Mubai dryly asked, “How… How come you’re so close to Jun Zishu?”
“What does that have to do with you?”
“Must you be so cold to me?”
“I just don’t want to give you hope. I don’t like you. I’ve never liked you in the past, and I still don’t like you now. I will never like you in the future, either. Of course, I do hope that you can have a wonderful future,” Ren Nanying bluntly stated.
Jiang Mubai wanted to say something in response, but his words got caught in his mouth when he noticed several heads popping out from the kitchen door.
“Sorry for the interruption,” Liu Manman said with an awkward smile. Then, she continued carrying the zombie corpse out of the kitchen with Liu Yingtong.
Meanwhile, Jun Zishu stood behind the door with her arms crossed and a faint smile on her face.
…
