Instead of having a fixed number of only three quests like the First-Promotion quests, there were about three to five different quests for each difficulty level. The quests were also randomly generated. Although they generally looked similar, each quest’s difficulty was different.
Missions like requiring one to steal a dragon egg were clearly ripoffs.
In God Domain, even monsters that had awakened only a hint of a dragon’s bloodline would be at least Level 30 and higher. They would also be Leaders or Hegemons, much less real dragons.
Generally speaking, the most incompetent adult dragons were Hegemons above Level 50.
No matter how impressive Liu Ming was now, he was only Level 30. He had also yet to complete his second promotion for his profession. If he were to fight a Level 50 monster—which might be on the verge of being promoted—it would be the same as courting death.
Although the quest stated that he had to steal a dragon egg, Liu Ming did not think it was possible to avoid being discovered by the Flame Dragon.
Most importantly, he could not keep the dragon egg for himself even if he did steal it. Liu Ming would be out of his mind if he were to run errands for someone else while taking the risk of failing the Second-Promotion quest.
As for the other Hell-level quests… Although they were a bit more normal than stealing a dragon egg, they were extremely disgusting. In the end, Liu Ming chose to take on the quest of challenging the Inferno Hegemon.
Other players would probably eliminate that quest first.
After all, having normal players take on a high-level regional Hegemon would be the same as sending them to their deaths.
Although the Flaming Demonic Vulture was not a Dark Creature—meaning Liu Ming could not achieve maximum damage—he could still defeat it as long as its Stats were not overwhelming.
…
After accepting the Second-Promotion quest, Liu Ming rode his Purgatory Nightmare and charged toward Blazing Canyon.
Blazing Canyon was quite a distance away from Lotter City; it was considered to be beyond Lotter City’s controlled area.
According to the claims circulated among God Domain’s NPCs, Blazing Canyon burned with raging flames all the time. Only magical creatures and special plants that liked fire would enjoy being in such an environment. Hence, it was called Blazing Canyon.
Also, due to Blazing Canyon’s overly harsh environment, even the magical beasts that lived on Blazing Canyon’s outskirts were magical beasts at the Elite-level at least.
In other words, Blazing Canyon was one of the advanced leveling points that God Domain had planted around Lotter City, as well as the two other main cities nearby.
However, Liu Ming—a Level 30 player—was the only one there at this moment. Only the officials of God Domain knew Blazing Canyon’s details.
…
With Purgatory Nightmare’s speed, which far surpassed that of an ordinary stallion, Liu Ming soon arrived at Blazing Canyon’s entrance.
Liu Ming was greeted with the sight of a sea of flames that continuously burned, in addition to reddish-black lava rocks.
Only the entrance to the canyon had a narrow path with no flames at all.
Liu Ming couldn’t say that he liked or hated this environment. However, his Purgatory Nightmare merrily snorted a few times and carried Liu Ming into the canyon after seeing that the place was covered in flames.
After entering the canyon, Liu Ming didn’t pay any attention to the various monsters—which were moving around because an intruding human had appeared. Instead, he rode his Purgatory Nightmare and headed straight to where the Flaming Demonic Vulture was.
By going to the location marked on the system map—which was displayed after he took on the quest—Liu Ming soon found a mountain that only had half a section left.
Due to the fact that only half of it was left, the top of this high mountain was now a huge platform, and on this platform was a large but relatively shallow pit.
There were still reddish feathers around it.
The large pit was clearly the Flaming Demonic Vulture’s nest.
…
Before long, Liu Ming heard the loud sound of a vulture coming from the distance.
A crimson figure kept approaching from the distant sky.
Not long after, a giant, crimson vulture—with wings that spanned seven to eight meters across—appeared at a spot less than a few hundred meters away from Liu Ming.
Flaming Demonic Vulture: Level 30 (Hegemon)
Health Points: 310,000/310,000
Introduction: A hegemon that is worthy of being one. All prey that has been targeted by it will not be able to escape its claws—which can rip one apart—and terrifying Fire Magic. Some people have given it the title of ‘Inferno Hegemon’ because of their fear of it.
…
Like Liu Ming had guessed, the Flaming Demonic Vulture was a Level 30 Boss-level monster. However, considering its HP was as high as 310,000 and had the advantage of being an aerial monster, it was definitely a Hegemon Boss much tougher to deal with than another Hegemon of the same level.
But Liu Ming had long expected this. After all, all the Hell-level quests were fraudulent. Although this Boss-level monster had high HP, Liu Ming could still accept it.
The Flaming Demonic Vulture was the hegemon of Blazing Canyon’s outskirts. Thus, it naturally had its own pride.
When the Flaming Demonic Vulture saw Liu Ming running to its lair, it instantly treated Liu Ming like he was a dead person. Hence, the Flaming Demonic Vulture sped up and dashed towards Liu Ming the moment he saw its information.
However, at this juncture, the Purgatory Nightmare that Liu Ming rode suddenly opened its mouth and spat multiple blue firebombs at the Flaming Demonic Vulture.
All along, the vast majority of magical beasts would be too shocked to move—some would even be stunned and dumbfounded for a moment—when under the Flaming Demonic Vulture’s suppression.
This was also why the Flaming Demonic Vulture was surprised that Liu Ming’s Mount had taken action before he did.
The Flaming Demonic Vulture was caught off-guard, and all the firebombs landed on the Flaming Demonic Vulture’s body, causing it huge damage.
