Chapter 10: The Garcia Family’s Shares

Because of the unhappy night, Olivia locked her room door to sleep.
When she woke up, it was already daytime outside.
As soon as Olivia arrived downstairs for breakfast, she heard Uncle Ford say in a strange tone, “Young Madam, please pay more attention to your image when you’re outside in the future. After all, you’re representing our Ford family now. You have to be careful with your words and actions.”
Olivia was stunned, “What do you mean?”
“See for yourself.”
As he spoke, Uncle Ford took out a tablet and placed it in front of Olivia. There was a piece of entertainment news on the tablet. The article was huge, and the words used were extremely unpleasant.
‘Shocking! The Ford family’s new daughter-in-law was flirting with a man at a banquet!’
The accompanying picture was the scene where Robert draped her with his coat last night.
Olivia took a look at the comments below and was practically cursing.
‘This Olivia is too shameless! She just got married to Brian, and she’s already cheating.’
‘I went to the banquet! I saw her leave with my own eyes and that man followed her out!’
‘This kind of woman is ruining the reputation of us, aristocrats. If I were him, I wouldn’t tolerate it. I’d divorce her immediately!’
There were many unpleasant words. Olivia only glanced briefly at them before looking away.
“I understand. You may leave.”
Uncle Ford was stunned. “That’s it?”
Olivia raised an eyebrow at him. “What else?”
Uncle Ford was at a loss for words. He had realized that Olivia’s mouth was truly formidable. He had never beaten her in an argument before!
Olivia couldn’t be bothered with him.
It was obvious that Sophia was behind this.
Since her sister missed her, she would go to the company to take a look.
Olivia’s thin lips curled into a sinister smile.
“You still want to run after something like this happened? What I said the other day wasn’t a joke. You can challenge my bottom line at your own risk.”
Brian had unknowingly appeared behind her as he spoke. This made Olivia feel disgusted and afraid.
“I’m just going to get back what belongs to me. I’m not as much of a handful as you think.”
…
Soon, Olivia arrived at the ground floor of the Garcia Corporation. She glanced at the tall building and raised an eyebrow.
She did not notice that Brian had sent someone to keep an eye on her.
Olivia came to the door of Joseph’s office. Just as she was about to knock, a secretary walked over.
“Hello, who are you looking for?” The secretary frowned, feeling that this woman was familiar.
“I’m looking for Joseph.”
The secretary looked at Olivia’s formal attire and thought that she was here to discuss business. Hence, her tone could be considered gentle. “I’m sorry, our president is in a traffic jam and hasn’t arrived yet. You might have to wait for a while.”
Olivia nodded and turned to walk toward the meeting room.
However, just as she was about to open the door and enter, the secretary from earlier walked over and stopped her. “I’m sorry, Miss. Our conference room is currently in use. You can’t go in.”
“Who’s using it?” Olivia raised an eyebrow at her.
“Our shareholders,” the secretary answered honestly. “We have a shareholder meeting today, so if you want to look for President Joseph, you have to wait for the meeting to end.”
“Shareholder meeting?” Olivia mulled over these words. “Why didn’t anyone inform me?”
“Miss… you…” The secretary was in a difficult position. She had been working in this company for so many years now, but she had never seen Olivia before. She didn’t know if she was here to cause trouble or if she was really a shareholder.
Just as the secretary was conflicted and didn’t dare to let Olivia in, the latter took a photocopy of a document out of her bag.
“Look at me. I’m Olivia, the biggest shareholder of the Garcia Corporation.”
Olivia ignored the secretary’s astonishment and pushed the door open. Everyone in the room was stunned when they saw her.
“Why are you here?”
One of the shareholders looked at her unhappily.
However, Olivia ignored him and sat on the main seat. She crossed her legs and waited for Joseph and Sophia to arrive.
“Why are you sitting here? Is this something you can attend? You stupid girl, get up quickly.”
That person wanted to catch her, but just as he was about to touch her, the door was opened.
Joseph and Sophia walked in arrogantly. “Apologies, we are late—”
Before Joseph could finish speaking, he saw Olivia.
The moment he saw Olivia, his expression was as ugly as if he had eaten a dead fly. “You… Why are you here?”
“As the largest shareholder of the Garcia Corporation, shouldn’t I be here?”
Olivia raised an eyebrow at them and went straight to the point. “I’m here today to suggest the removal of Vice President Sophia.”
“What!?”
Sophia was furious. “Olivia Garcia! Who do you think you are? What right do you have to dismiss me!?”
Olivia casually took out the copy of the shares transfer agreement she had gotten from Joseph. “With this, of course.”
When Sophia could clearly see that Olivia held 21% of the company’s shares, her head buzzed and exploded. “How is this possible? How do you have so many shares!?”
Olivia didn’t reply. She only glanced at Joseph, who lowered his head guiltily.
“Even if you are the biggest shareholder, you can’t just fire whoever you want. Vice President Sophia has made outstanding contributions to our company. Aren’t you afraid of making a mistake if you fire her for no reason?”
“Outstanding contributions?”
Olivia snorted as if she had heard a joke. “If outstanding contributions means spending tens of millions of dollars every year to buy clothes and treat people to meals, as well as paying for my own personal expenses, then I can contribute a hundred times better than her.”
With that, Olivia threw out a stack of documents. “These are the contracts that Sophia has gotten for us since entering the company. There are a total of 20 deals, and they are worth $80,000,000. Excluding her expenses and costs, we only have less than $3,000,000 left. Are you telling me that this is a great contribution?”
Olivia’s evidence showed that Sophia used the company’s money to buy personal items. The solid evidence made all the shareholders turn green.
Sophia wanted to snatch the evidence. “So what if I use money from my father’s company? I am his daughter! I have the right to use his money.”
“Yes.” Olivia raised her eyebrows and looked at the shareholders. “As you can all hear, Vice President Sophia Garcia is saying that your money is her money. She can use it however she wants.”
“Is that… really the case?” A shareholder lamented. “Joseph… looks like I’ve invested too much here… I want to divest my shares.”
When Joseph heard that, he turned around and slapped Sophia. His face was as black as charcoal. “Shut up!”
“Eugene, listen to my explanation. This isn’t the case.” Joseph wanted to say something, but the others were unhappy.
“We want to divest our shares too!”
Seeing that things were about to get out of hand, Olivia said faintly, “Let me introduce myself first. My name is Olivia Garcia. I’m from the Garcia family, and I’m the eldest daughter.”
With that, Olivia stood up and looked at everyone. “If you accept my proposal just now and dismiss Sophia to elect me as the Vice President, I don’t think I need to elaborate on the income that the Ford Corporation and I will bring to you, right?”
Everyone looked at each other and said in unison, “We choose you!”
Olivia raised her eyebrows and smiled. She glanced at Sophia, who was gnashing her teeth in anger. The corners of her mouth carried a hint of mockery.
