Mr. Brian Wants to Get Married Every Day - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Rescuing Brian
“Paul, is he alright?”
Paul looked a little helpless as he said, “He’s already been arrested. The trial will start in three days. I’ve already found a lawyer, Jim Williams. He’s a top lawyer, so he should be able to clear Mr. Ford’s name.”
Olivia smiled helplessly. She knew that Paul was consoling her. How could it be so simple to twist the law of the country?
If the culprit was determined, she would definitely do it flawlessly, but justice would still prevail in the end.
Instead of sitting around and waiting for the trial to begin, she might as well find some evidence herself. Perhaps she really would discover something, so Olivia decided to talk to the director.
“By the way, Paul, do you know what happened between Brian and the director?”
Paul and Brian had been together for many years, so how could he not know? It was just that without evidence, nothing he said was important.
How could Brian have considered so many things back then?
Seeing how pitiful the director had been, he had helped her and was considered to have done his best. Who would have thought that she would repay kindness with revenge?
“The director’s name is Crystal. Mr. Ford didn’t help her father, so she ended up in debt. She was reduced from a rich girl to a bar hostess to pay her debts. She couldn’t find a decent job because of her father.
“Mr. Ford only helped her once. I didn’t expect her to repay kindness with enmity and blame everything she suffered on Mr. Ford.”
…
Olivia brought Joey back to the villa and asked Uncle Ford to take care of him while she went to the hospital to visit Crystal. She had just asked when she found out that Crystal had died already. This way, there was no evidence.
Since this path was cut, Olivia tried to look for the place where she bought the drugs. She hoped to discover something, but her own abilities were insignificant.
When Tiffany and Lina saw the news, they rushed over to help.
Tiffany looked at the frowning Olivia and felt her heart ache.
“Olivia, don’t be in such a hurry. Let’s split up and look for evidence together. Don’t just rely on your own abilities. Sometimes, money may be cheap, but it can help you.”
Olivia seemed to have understood something. After her cousin and the others left, she returned to the company with Paul.
From the company’s transaction records, they found out that there were indeed dealings with the orphanage. However, the money ultimately ended up in the financial manager’s personal pocket. Therefore, Brian was unaware of this matter.
Paul brought the financial manager, Gavin, to the office.
Olivia tossed the accounts in front of Gavin and demanded, “Explain what’s going on.”
Gavin did not feel afraid. He glanced at the papers and smiled.
“It’s exactly what you see. This is related to the orphanage’s money. It’s also evidence of Brian’s evil deeds. Mrs. Ford, why are you asking me this?”
Olivia then took out Gavin’s bank records. Every sum of money from the orphanage was recorded in detail.
“Are you sure you don’t want to tell the truth?”
When Gavin saw the bank records, he was dumbfounded. How had she managed to find his personal overseas account?
He instantly changed his previously arrogant attitude and begged Olivia. “Mrs. Ford, I was really foolish. That b*tch Crystal seduced me and said that my looks were to her liking. She gave me the money but sent it in this way. It was only after a long time that she told me about framing Mr. Ford.”
From the look in his eyes, he didn’t seem to be lying. Crystal had really been unscrupulous when it came to achieving her goals. However, the man in front of her wasn’t that outstanding. His appearance was still passable.
“I’ve recorded everything you said just now. I hope you’ll still say that in court. But it’s fine if you don’t tell the truth. I have a way to make you suffer too.”
After everything that had happened, Olivia was no longer merciful. Being kind to an enemy was being disloyal to oneself. Although Sophia had not done anything evil recently, it did not mean that she would let her go.
Tiffany called to say that she had found the man who had brought Crystal to the hotel during the drinking session. At first, the man insisted that it was Brian’s gift, but in the end, he said that Crystal had gone to look for the man herself. He was willing to testify in court.
Good news also came from Lina’s side. They found out that Crystal’s drugs came from overseas. Since it wasn’t in America, the police couldn’t extend their search that far, so they could only strictly prohibit drug trafficking again.
All of Brian’s international flight records showed that he had never gone there, so his suspicions were quickly overthrown.
Olivia had learned a principle—the person you saved might not be a kind person, but someone who wanted to harm you.
Thus, one should never harbor ill intentions toward others but should always be wary of others.
Crystal had never expected that even if Brian was arrested, there would still be people who would be able to find out about the truth. Now, she had suffered a double loss.
Olivia sent all the evidence to the police station.
Brian soon came out, and the police also announced at the press conference that this was a misunderstanding and ended up looking useless.
There was a long discussion on Facebook. Some people lamented that it was wrong to save someone.
Brian liked Olivia more and more. It would have taken some time to investigate this matter. He did not expect her to do it so beautifully and quickly.
“My wife, you’ve been getting more and more brilliant lately. I think I’m about to lose to you.”
Brian hugged Olivia from behind and leaned his head against the woman’s body, greedily inhaling her fragrance.
Olivia felt an itch and pushed Brian away.
“How could I be better than you? You’re so outstanding, so I have to work hard to be better. Otherwise, how can I match up to my handsome and rich husband?”
When Brian heard what Olivia said, his heart felt like it was doused with honey.
The orphanage was also his original intention, and he could not let a single rotten woman spoil his plans. Many people recommended Chris to be the new director.
Brian had also secretly investigated Chris. His background was very clean, and he was a very good person. He was usually kind and happy to help others. He also had his own thoughts when educating children, so Brian approved this recommendation.
Olivia thought of Joey’s appearance that day and couldn’t bear to send him there again. As soon as she went downstairs, she found Joey packing his luggage. She was a little puzzled.
“Joey, what are you doing?”
“I left the orphanage earlier. Now that the matter has been resolved, I should return.”
Uncle Ford pulled Joey over and said to Olivia, “Madam, why don’t you stop him from going to the orphanage? It’s not very suitable there. I want to raise him, is that okay?”
Brian considered that Uncle Ford had always been alone, and it was not a bad thing to have someone to accompany him now. He nodded without thinking. “Uncle Ford, if you really like this child, I’ll let him stay by your side and accompany you.”
“Joey, are you willing to follow him?”
Brian was seeking Joey’s opinion as he didn’t like to force others.
Joey nodded immediately. “I’m willing to follow him.”
Uncle Ford was extremely happy. He decided that from now on, this child’s name was Joey Ford!
