Chapter 23 Husband
“Dream on.” Song Liangjiang instantly retreated several steps back before she leaned against the door. “It’s written in black and white. We’ll get a divorce in a year. Don’t even think about breaking the contract.”
Chu Jingmo glanced at her coldly. He didn’t want to communicate with her anymore. It would only make him dumb.
Seeing that Chu Jingmo had stopped talking, Song Liangjiang began to look at the return tickets. Since she was sure that there wasn’t any sketch, there was no need to stay.
Chu Jingmo glanced at her and knew what she was doing. “I’m not kidding about the five million yuan.”
Song Liangjiang looked up at him silently and muttered, “A capitalist. A capitalist who still pretends to be rich when he has no money.”
Five million dollar yuan sounded like fifty yuan to him. Did he think she was stupid?
Chu Jingmo looked at the little woman who was muttering under her breath. Who told her that he would be broke even if the Chu Corporation went bankrupt?
“Not many people know about the Chu Corporation’s current situation, but you do.” Chu Jingmo asked. He still remembered what Song Liangjiang said that day. Didn’t that mean she had analyzed the Chu Corporation’s problem?
The more Song Liangjiang checked the price of the flight tickets, the more her heart ached for her wallet. “I read it from the tabloids.”
Chu Jingmo was speechless…
Song Liangjiang finished scrolling, and even checked for transfer flights. She stole a glance at Chu Jingmo. “When are you going back? Do you want to deduct it from the 30 million?”
Song Liangjiang’s eyes sparkled when she needed a favor, but Chu Jingmo knew how hypocritical she was.
“At this rate, your 30 million won’t be enough to last a year,” Chu Jingmo reminded her.
She had no money, but she still dared to spend without considering the consequences. How unbelievable.
Song Liangjiang followed Chu Jingmo back to the hotel. As soon as she got out of the car, she spotted a woman standing at the entrance of the hotel. Song Liangjiang knew that person. She was a rising new international architect, Luo Fuyang. All these years, the two of them had been pitted against each other, so Luo Fuyang had always been very hostile to her.
“Jingmo.” Luo Fuyang’s gaze swept past Song Liangjiang as if she didn’t see her and made a beeline for Chu Jingmo.
“What are you doing here?”
They obviously knew each other well.
“I happened to be on a business trip here, so I came over when I knew you were here,” Luo Fuyang said with a smile. She stopped a step away from Chu Jingmo, as if she had just spotted Song Liangjiang. “You’re here too? I heard that Professor Cheng is bidding for the Chu Corporation’s project. Looks like you’re the main architect.”
“You know each other?” Chu Jingmo asked.
“Who doesn’t know Architect Song? Jingmo you have no idea? She’s the little princess of the construction field. The treasure in the hands of countless big shots is Architect Song.” Luo Fuyang’s description was a little exaggerated as she surveyed Song Liangjiang with hostility.
Song Liangjiang quipped, “Miss Luo, you’re too kind.”
With that, Song Liangjiang turned to leave. The judges of the previous award-winning project had all praised Song Liangjiang in private. After the award was announced, many people accused her of bribing the judges. Luo Fuyang didn’t say anything, but Song Liangjiang didn’t think she was innocent.
“It’s getting late. Why don’t we have dinner together?” Luo Fuyang stopped Song Liangjiang from leaving and looked at Chu Jingmo. “Jingmo, we haven’t seen each other for a long time. Why don’t we have dinner together?”
“Wow, so lively?” Xie Yu teased when he returned. “The famous architect is here too. How rare.”
Song Liangjiang took a small step back. She could tell that they had grown up together.
Vn
She didn’t feel like hearing them reminisce about their childhood at all. She and Luo Fuyang didn’t get along.
“I’ll leave you two to catch up. I—”
“Let’s eat together.” Chu Jingmo grabbed Song Liangjiang’s hand and pulled her to the restaurant, ignoring her objections.
Luo Fuyang looked at their intertwined hands, and her eyes darkened unconsciously. When her cousin Lin Xi told her that Chu Jingmo was married to Song Liangjiang, she even specifically asked if that woman was the Song Liangjiang she knew.
She didn’t think it was really her!
“Let’s go, famous architect,” Xie Yu urged her with a smile when she fell into a daze.
Luo Fuyang snapped out of her daze and strode with Xie Yu. “I didn’t expect him to suddenly get married. Why haven’t I heard anything?”
“That’s why he should be punished. He’s too much to keep this from us, isn’t he?” Xie Yu walked with Luo Fuyang and joked.
Song Liangjiang was steered by Chu Jingmo. “I don’t want to eat.”
“Do you not feel like eating or do you not want to eat with me and Luo Fuyang?” Chu Jingmo whispered in her ear. “Do you have a grudge against Luo Fuyang?” Song Liangjiang sat down with her shoulders pressed down by Chu Jingmo. He didn’t give her a chance to resist.
Luo Fuyang and Xie Yu sat down opposite them. Song Liangjiang took a deep breath and looked at Chu Jingmo with a smile. “Why don’t you do some research first and see what everyone is saying about the relationship between the new architect, Song Liangjiang, and Luo Fuyang?”.
“Most stuff online can’t be trusted. Xie Yu should understand this the best, right?” Luo Fuyang continued, “I don’t think Miss Song and I have any private grudges. What do you think?”
Song Liangjiang looked at the sincere-looking woman opposite her and then at the other two men who were ordering with their heads lowered. This woman was their childhood friend. No matter how she looked at them, she was an outsider. Moreover, from the looks of it, Luo Fuyang probably liked Chu Jingmo. Even if she hid it well, Song Liangjiang could still tell.
In that case…
“Hubby, this dish looks delicious. I want to eat this.” Song Liangjiang suddenly hugged Chu Jingmo’s arm and called him sweetly as she leaned towards him.
Chu Jingmo paused for a moment and looked at Song Liangjiang.
Xie Yu spluttered and almost choked on his saliva. He silently picked up his glass of water and drank as he ordered.
“One stewed chicken, Mrs. Chu likes it,” said Xie Yu to the waiter beside him. Song Liangjiang didn’t let go of Chu Jingmo’s arm. She even tightened her grip. Chu Jingmo slowly inched closer to her and pressed his lips against her ear. “Using me?”
The distance between them was too close, and the heat made Song Liangjiang’s heart beat wildly. But she still tried not to blush and forced her voice to sound normal. “I’m helping you to drive her away.”
“I suggest that the two of you save your affection until you’re back in your room later. Are you still eating?” Xie Yu nodded at the table. The actions of the two people opposite him were really unsightly.
Luo Fuyang kept staring at the two people leaning against each other. Her expression was appropriate, but the way she kept stirring the water revealed her emotions.
“I didn’t expect you to be the first to get married among us. Thinking back, we thought you planned to never get married.” Luo Yuanyang smiled. “After all, you really don’t look like you’ll get married.”
