Chapter 28 Initial Suspicion
Song Liangjiang turned around and glanced at Chu Jingmo. Those who didn’t know better would think that he was her father.
“Thank you, Miss Luo.” Song Liangjiang looked at Chu Jingmo. “Is that all, Daddy?”
Chu Jingmo was speechless…
She spun around and strode away. If Luo Fuyang had picked it up, she would have thanked her. But the receptionist had already found the bag. What kind of kind act would that be?
With Luo Fuyang’s relationship with her, it would be a conspiracy for her to take the initiative to help.
“She’s a little willful because of her young age, but we didn’t dare to behave so when we were her age.” Luo Fuyang chuckled, as if she was just lamenting.
Song Liangjiang suddenly stopped and took a deep breath before turning back to look at Luo Fuyang. “Miss Luo, do you know why you can’t be willful at my age? Because you lack a father and a husband.”
She was satisfied to see Luo Fuyang’s expression fall slightly. She gestured to Chu Jingmo with her hand. “Daddy, come back quickly.”
Chu Jingmo was speechless…
Why was this woman so annoying?
She deserved a beating.
Luo Fuyang watched as Song Liangjiang entered the elevator. She hid her anger well. “Jingmo, I didn’t expect you to like such a
girl.”
“Is that so? I didn’t expect that either.” Chu Jingmo left after saying that.
Luo Fuyang’s smile froze on her face. If Chu Jingmo’s previous words were still specious, his reply almost admitted that he liked Song Liangjiang
Song Liangjiang cursed Chu Jingmo. When she got out of the elevator and was about to return to her room, she saw Xie Yu’s assistant entering with a medical kit. She was startled for a moment and stood at the door to look inside.
“Liangjiang?” When Xie Yu saw Song Liangjiang, he walked over. “Sorry, did they bump into you again?”
“Your fans and I don’t get along. I can never walk away unscathed.” She leaned against the door and looked at Xie Yu. She noticed the red mark on his forehead. “Did you get hit?”
Xie Yu raised his hand to his forehead. “I wasn’t careful when I walked just now. I hit the glass door. But it’s not a big deal.”
Song Liangjiang felt the pain just by hearing him. No job was easy.
“I don’t think that happened the last time we went to the mall.”
“It’s working hours. And at any time, it’s work for me.” With a slight shrug, Xie Yu leaned against the door as well. “I heard you went to Mr. Yang’s house today. Did you manage to get anything?”
m
“I didn’t get anything, but I did have a romantic encounter.” Song Liangjiang liked to talk to Xie Yu. Talking to him always made people feel comfortable.
“Really? That can be considered a gain?” Xie Yu chuckled. “That man is even more handsome than Old Chu?”
“Chu Jingmo is handsome? Are you blind?” Song Liangjiang was still annoyed. She would remember him for forcing her to thank that cunning woman.
“Hahaha…” Xie Yu laughed out loud. He spotted the man coming over from the corner of his eye, but he still trudged on,” You and Old Chu are married because of love?”
“Your heart might be blind too. For a man like Chu Jingmo, there seems to be no other ending for him other than being alone for the rest of his life.” Song Liangjiang waved her hand. “I woke up too early this morning. I’m going back to catch up on my sleep. You should apply the medicine properly.”
Xie Yu sent Song Liangjiang away with a smile and watched as Chu Jingmo strode over with a grim expression.
“She’s right about one thing. You’re more suitable to be alone for the rest of your life.” Xie Yu looked at Chu Jingmo with a faint smile. It was rare to see him with a dark expression. After all, it was not easy to infuriate or provoke Chu Jingmo.
But this matter seemed extremely easy for Song Liangjiang.
Xie Yu watched as Chu Jingmo left with Song Liangjiang. The grin on his face faded a little. “Marriage before love… This is never-ending!”
After saying that, Xie Yu turned around and asked his assistant to apply medicine for him.
Song Liangjiang returned to her room and placed her bag on the sofa. She collapsed on the bed and yawned a few times before falling asleep.
When Chu Jingmo came in, he saw the girl sleeping like a pig on the bed. She really fell asleep quickly.
Li Chuan came over and whispered something in Chu Jingmo’s ear.
Chu Jingmo pulled the blanket over her without any gentleness, then turned around and went out. “Ask Xie Yu to come to my room and get a few people to tail Song Liangjiang.”
Li Chuan nodded and went to do as he was instructed.
Xie Yu only came over after applying the medicine. When he came in, he sat on the sofa. He then gazed at the man sitting by the window whose attention was on his laptop. “Why did you call me over at this time?”
“There’s something wrong with Yang Heng.”
Xie Yu asked, “Yang Heng?”
His job here was to be the spokesperson for Mr. Yang’s family brand. “I didn’t find anything amiss.”
Chu Jingmo looked at Xie Yu. “Cancel the contract as soon as possible. Don’t blame me for not reminding you that this person is not only dubious, but perhaps also very problematic.”
Xie Yu frowned. If Chu Jingmo was certain that there was a problem, then it wouldn’t just be a big problem. It might involve incalculable consequences.
“I’ll get my company to arrange it. Old Chu, you didn’t leave the country just for Liangjiang, right? What are you investigating? You won’t implicate her, would
you?”
Chu Jingmo closed the laptop in front of him. “She’s my wife. You care too much about her.”
Those who didn’t know better would think that Song Liangjiang had an underground relationship with him.
When Li Chuan returned, Chu Jingmo left.
This time, Li Chuan brought back what Chu Jingmo had asked him to investigate.
“Miss Song was born in a mountain area in Yunnan. Her parents died early. When she was 15 years old, she was admitted to the Atlas University’s architecture faculty. Her grandfather passed away and she has never returned since.” It was a very simple life story. There were almost no other twists and turns.
Chu Jingmo stood by the window with his hands clasped behind his back as he gazed at the pedestrians outside. It seemed like a tragic world. If this was all true, it would be a miracle for her to still be able to live so freely.
“Her grandfather passed away as soon as she got into university. In other words, her past has become a story to other people,” Chu Jingmo drawled slowly. “Then what was Yang Heng’s motive to scheme and lure a girl with no background?”
Li Chuan had no idea, so he didn’t know how to answer.
“Did the old lady insist that she marry me just because of that incident at the bar?”
Now it seemed that perhaps the incident at the bar had not been an accident after all.
Song Liangjiang slept until the sky turned dark. When she woke up, she rolled around in bed a few times before waking up. She took her phone and read the messages. Tang Yi had sent her a preliminary sketch. It was modified according to Song Liangjiang’s concept map and there were a few questions that she and her seniors had.
She read the questions and got up to take her sketchbook from her bag. As she studied the sketches, she didn’t notice that there seemed to be something stuck on the spine of the sketchbook.
