Chapter 60: Threw Herself into His Arms Uninvited
Noticing that everyone was looking at him, Bai Wenping quickly said, “Yun Wei, stop talking nonsense.”
Yun Wei quickly covered her mouth with her hand. “Oops,” she said. “I’ll shut up now.”
However, seeing that Bai Wenping was obviously trying to hide something and that he’d intimidated Yun Wei into covering her mouth and stop talking, many of those present sensed that there was something going on between Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha.
“Aren’t you Bai Wenping from the third year? Hua Shasha’s hand was caught in a mousetrap when she tried to rummage through someone’s drawer. We don’t know what she wanted or if she intended to steal someone’s possessions.”
Tongues were wagging. Everyone was trying to tell him about what had happened earlier.
Bai Wenping looked very embarrassed.
Speaking mildly, he said, “Hua Shasha and I are just fellow students. That’s all there is to it. We aren’t very close. Since she’s all right now, I’ll be off.”
That said, he turned around and left.
When Hua Shasha heard that Bai Wenping had come over, she’d felt comforted and happy, thinking that, after all was said and done, this man did have a heart.
But, unexpectedly, just as she was about to head out to meet him, Bai Wenping had turned around and left without even looking at her.
Hua Shasha wanted to call out to him but held back and consoled herself by looking at his receding form.
Bai Wenping was experiencing a complete change of heart.
Initially, his feelings for Yun Wei had been genuine.
Yun Wei was beautiful, gracious, charming, and sweet. She had been extremely popular and very much liked ever since primary school.
From the first time he met Yun Wei, Bai Wenping had constantly cozied up to her.
After her college entrance exams, Yun Wei agreed to be Bai Wenping’s girlfriend for a trial run.
But, despite being gracious and extroverted, Yun Wei was, after all, still young and not experienced with stuff like kisses and hugs. In fact, she was standoffish and openly rejected any such advances.
And that put a stop to any further development in their relationship that Bai Wenping had wanted.
Since he was already in his third year at university, Bai Wenping, together with guys of his own age, frequented bars and other nightspots, like KTVs. So, he’d long been exposed to intimate acts with women and was bursting with boundless energy.
But he’d never dared do anything with Yun Wei.
Coincidentally, Hua Shasha had thrown herself at him, luring him with her generous cleavage and charming him senseless.
Naturally, he welcomed Hua Shasha’s advances and had an affair with her behind Yun Wei’s back.
After Yun Wei injured her head, he seized the opportunity and colluded with Hua Shasha to steal from Yun Wei and spend her money. They enjoyed a happy period of luxurious living.
But now that Yun Wei was slowly recovering from her injury, and with Hua Shasha constantly nagging him to repay their debts or find more money, Bai Wenping was having a change of heart.
What he had with Hua Shasha was purely a physical liaison between man and woman. Truth be told, there was little affection involved.
In fact, at one point during their relationship, he’d grown tired of the common and uncultured Hua Shasha.
Compared to Yun Wei, Hua Shasha’s looks, personality and family background were lacking in every aspect.
At that thought, Bai Wenping really wanted to hit himself hard.
If he had been faithful and continued to date Yun Wei, would the Yun family have ultimately mistreated him in the end? Would Yun Wei have given him all the money he wanted?
On the other hand, what would getting involved with Hua Shasha get him?
Even if they could get their hands on that diamond necklace, would they be able to live off of that for the rest of their lives?
Bai Wenping grew increasingly regretful as he thought things through. If only he’d resisted and rejected Hua Shasha with her generous breasts. If he had, wouldn’t he still be doing well with Yun Wei?
Furthermore, his own parents had always been nothing but deferential in the presence of Yun Wei’s father, always bending over backward to get into his good books. Yun Wei’s father had also brought the Bai family a lot of honor.
He resolved to personally visit the Yun family once Yun Wei turned eighteen and make their relationship official. Surely, that would be a much better deal than hanging out with Hua Shasha?
At that thought, Bai Wenping made his final decision.
