At this moment, Meng Liang, who was under the blanket, was almost scared to death! She had heard the commotion when Mo Hanchen jumped onto her window.
Meng Liang had always been a light sleeper, no thanks to Xiang Haoyu. Her heart almost jumped out of her chest when she saw a dark figure moving towards her.
Were thieves these days so forward?
Was it Xiang Haoyu?
Only Xiang Haoyu would climb through a window so late at night!
Wretched scum! She would stab him to death if he dared to touch her.
Meng Liang carefully took the scissors next to her pillow and held them tightly in her hands. As for why there were scissors, she had forgotten to put them back in the drawer when she opened a package the other night.
She closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep, waiting for the man to approach her. Once he was close enough, she would aim a stab towards his head.
Mo Hanchen sat by her bed and eyed her under the moonlight.
Meng Liang was beautiful, but she was not very bright.
Thinking about her meeting with Xiang Haoyu earlier that afternoon, Mo Hanchen suddenly felt angry! He could not wait to sink his teeth into her flesh. He would bite wherever he pleased. Besides, those full lips were practically calling out to him.
However, just as he leaned forward for a kiss, he felt a sharp pain in his head.
“Si si si…”
“I’ll cut you to death. I’ll cut you to death! Xiang Haoyu, you scum, how dare you climb through my window!”
Meng Liang waved the scissors in her hand madly. “I’ll kill you!”
Mo Hanchen grabbed flailing arms and snatched the scissors away, his eyebrows twitching.
“Meng Liang, are you crazy?”
Only then did Meng Liang dare to open her eyes. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
Mo Hanchen held his bleeding head. “Who do you think it was?”
“I thought Xiang Haoyu was here to threaten me again about not getting a divorce.”
Mo Hanchen glared at her. “Is he all you think about?”
Meng Liang did not nod or shake his head.
It was a tacit acknowledgement.
She had been thinking about her four projects with Xiang Haoyu before she slept and had jumped to conclusions, believing he had to be the intruder.
Mo Hanchen was so angry that he could not breathe. “Meng Liang, you’re courting death!”
The man ignored the injury on his head and violently shoved Meng Liang onto the bed. “Meng Liang, I’ll kill you if you dare to mention Xiang Haoyu again!”
Meng Liang looked at the wound on Mo Hanchen’s head. Blood flowed into his eyes, creating a haunting visage. She did not dare to move. Her injuries had not healed yet, and if she struggled, they would reopen. Only she would suffer in the end.
Staring at the man hovering over her, Meng Liang fell into a daze.
She recalled the first time she ever slept with a man.
Meng Liang tried to sit up, wanting to check on Mo Hanchen’s injury, but he held her down, not letting go.
“I didn’t want to make an issue out of it. You were the one who did! Besides, why would you sneak through the window like a thief?”
Mo Hanchen replied, “If you bothered answering my calls or replying to my messages, would I need to sneak in to see you?”
“If you hadn’t made me angry, would I have ignored your calls or refused to reply to your messages?” Meng Liang retorted.
Mo Hanchen frowned, his lips forming a thin line.
Staring at her beautiful little face, his Adam’s apple bobbed impatiently.
“Can I kiss you?”
Meng Liang panicked. “No!”
She did not want anything to do with him while she was married.
“Mo Hanchen, Xiang Haoyu is…” Before she could finish, Mo Hanchen bit her lips hard. He did not stop until he drew blood, and even then, it merely encouraged him to deepen the kiss. It nearly caused her to faint.
“Take this as my way of repaying you.” He had bitten, kissed, and said all those harsh words, and now it was time for him to go. As quickly as he came, Mo Hanchen hopped out the window, leaving a seething woman behind.
Despite her limp, protesting legs, Meng Liang dragged herself to the window. She was just in time to see Mo Hanchen speed off in his car, the headlights flashing in the dark of night.
“That man! I didn’t have time to pay him back! I didn’t get a chance to check his injury either…”
Meng Liang immediately picked up her phone and called him.
Mo Hanchen was driving, his face the colour of pitch. He glanced at his phone as it rang, recognising the caller ID instantly. He hung up without answering, a scowl twisting his features.
Meng Liang called again, but Mo Hanchen hung up. The cycle repeated itself five times before Meng Liang stopped.
Since Mo Hanchen did not want to answer, Meng Liang could only leave him a message:
[ Call me when you get home ]
However, Meng Liang did not hear from him until one, but when she answered the call, he hung up.
Meng Liang was left speechless. She was so angry that she screamed into her pillow.
Sure enough, all actions had their consequences. His retribution had come!
She ignored him that night, hung up on him five times, and did not reply to his messages. Mo Hanchen paid her back. With interest.
Sleep evaded Meng Liang, and she got up after tossing and turning for two to three hours.
Although he deserved the injury for sneaking into her room, Meng Liang felt she should apologise. He would be a good partner for some of the Xiang Group’s projects.
–
The next morning, Meng Liang bought breakfast and went to Royal View Court.
She knew Mo Hanchen lived upstairs but did not know his house number, so she waited near the elevator.
Meng Liang waited for half an hour before she heard someone exiting the lift.
Mo Hanchen looked at Meng Liang in shock. He had not slept well the whole night. To show Meng Liang his displeasure, he had stayed up all night. Seeing her yawning over a breakfast box, Mo Hanchen felt his efforts were not in vain.
Still, how could he forgive her so easily?
She would not know his importance if he did not teach her a lesson!
Meng Liang, as the aggressor, greeted him first, “Hmm… Good morning.”
Mo Hanchen glanced at her coldly and walked past her without responding.
“Mo Hanchen, I was too rash last night. I’m sorry!”
Meng Liang stared at the wound she had inflicted. Mo Hanchen had not even put a band-aid over the injury. “I have a band-aid here. Let me help you put it on.”
As she spoke, Meng Liang rummaged through her bag and took out a cute band-aid, trying to dress the wound for him. However, Mo Hanchen pushed her away.
“Hmph, I don’t want your band-aid!”
As he spoke, the man lifted his hair and showed her the wound on his forehead. “Look at what you’ve done. See how you’ve scarred my face with those scissors of yours!”
Mo Hanchen glared at her with a sullen expression. “I’m not going to disinfect or dress the wound or go to a hospital. I want you to feel guilty for what you’ve done!”
Meng Liang looked at this childish man, speechless. “Mo Hanchen, you’re acting like a three-year-old!”
Mo Hanchen glared at her and did not say a word. He jabbed the elevator button angrily, and the elevator came up from the ground floor.
Meng Liang tugged on his sleeve. “Have you had breakfast? I’ve brought some if you’d like.”
“There’s steamed buns, fried buns, osmanthus cakes, glutinous rice cakes…”
Mo Hanchen’s eyes flickered as he watched Meng Liang rummage through the food boxes.
How could he miss such a good opportunity to educate her?
He had to make her understand how she was wrong and how she needed to apologise for her mistakes. She needed to learn how to please him when he got angry and how flexibility was key to winning his heart. Hugging, kissing, acting coy, or even gently calling his name… any of them would make him happy.
He would become a meek little lamb if she kissed and hugged him. He would believe anything she said, regardless of whether she spoke the truth.
Just buying him breakfast was not good enough!
Mo Hanchen continued being tsundere and said, “I’m not eating!”
Meng Liang did not even know how best to make him happy. Wouldn’t their future together be boring if this continued?
Having had enough, Mo Hanchen said, “I’d rather starve than eat what you’ve bought for breakfast!”
