Mr. Qi, Your Cover At Risk - Chapter 29
Chapter 29 Kuang Jin’s Gift
Kuang Jin heard what he said and stopped in his tracks.
Kuang Hengdong frowned when he saw his unmoving son. “What are you waiting for?”
Kuang Jin turned around and scratched his head awkwardly. “I don’t know where White Deer lives.” He should have asked earlier. However, with White Deer’s personality, he never asked anything.
Kuang Hengdong really wanted to beat the little b*stard up. What was he trying to do?
“Then make whatever calls you need to make. You have to find White Deer today, no matter what.” Kuang Hengdong turned his head away, no longer looking at him.
Kuang Jin pursed his lips and replied with an oh before leaving with his phone to his ear.
Lu Jinqi was playing games in the hotel room when her phone suddenly started ringing. She raised her eyebrows and licked her red lips wickedly.
“You’re pretty fast.”
She hung up mercilessly. It was not until the phone rang for the third time that she picked it
up.
“White Deer, where are you? I sincerely hope that you can save my grandfather,” Kuang Jin directly went straight to the point, his tone was anxious.
Lu Jinqi stood up lazily in front of the window. Her cold eyes were tinged with laziness, and the corners of her lips curled up.
“What? So if the western doctors couldn’t do it, does that mean the chinese doctors can?”
Hearing this, Kuang Jin’s face darkened. ‘If you can successfully do it, I’ll apologize to you.’ He could only suppress this thought in his heart and continue to explain, “Yesterday, I didn’t mean to do it on purpose. I was just a little flustered at the time, so I spoke without thinking. They say that doctors are kind-hearted. I don’t want you to choose to give up on saving someone because of my mistake.”
He thought that saying this would stir up Lu Jinqi’s responsibility as a doctor.
Who would have thought that it was the opposite.
Lu Jinqi looked outside casually and smiled, bright and impudent.
“You’re talking about a proper doctor. Unfortunately, I’m not.”
Kuang Jin was shocked by this sentence. Nowadays, were they all self-deprecating?
He lowered his head and thought about how to respond to her, but the other party spoke first.
Lu Jinqi chuckled and pursed her lips. “But you’re right. It’s not worth it to lose someone in Z country because of you.”
Kuang Jin could not get angry. In this situation, whatever she said had to be seen as right.
“Then you agree on helping?” he asked carefully.
“Wait for me,” Lu Jinqi said slowly.
After hanging up, Kuang Jin squatted at the entrance of his house under the sun, looking silly as he waited for someone.
Lu Jinqi casually walked in and saw this scene.
Hearing sounds, Kuang Jin raised his head, and their eyes met.
Suddenly, Lu Jinqi curled her red lips and looked at him calmly.
“Are you house watching?”
Kuang Jin’s legs were a little numb from squatting for too long. Just as he stood up, he stumbled forward because of this sentence.
Lu Jinqi turned her body to the side and saw Kuang Jin sprawled on the ground in a sorry state.
She raised her eyes, a playful look in her eyes.
“Kuang Jin, it must have been hard for you to apologize in such a dramatic way.”
Kuang Jin, who was about to get up, heard her words and immediately sprawled on the ground, motionless.
At that moment, he wished for a crack in the ground to swallow him whole. He really did not want to face such a wicked person.
When Kuang Hengdong heard the commotion outside, he walked out and saw Kuang Jin sprawled on the ground while White Deer stood by the side.
He raised his hand to press between his brows, trying to suppress the anger in his heart, but he could not help but burst out.
With that, Kuang Jin heard his old man’s angry
roar.
“Kuang Jin, how pathetic do you think you look like sprawled on the ground? Hurry up and get in here.”
Lu Jinqi’s lips curled up when she heard the outburst. It seemed like someone was going to suffer.
Kuang Jin flipped over and stood up as quickly as he could, brushing off the dust on his body.
Then, the three of them went into the room. Lu Jinqi took out her things and looked at them with un-welcoming eyes. “Get out.”
When the father and son heard that, they obediently left and closed the door behind them.
As time passed, the two of them paced back and forth worriedly with tense shoulders.
Finally, the door opened, and Lu Jinqi’s fair face was covered in sweat. Her eyes looked tired as she walked out.
Seeing the worry and concern on their faces, she said slowly, “He’s fine. He’ll wake up in two hours.”
Hearing the answer they wanted, Kuang Jin and Kuang Hengdong still felt that it was unbelievable.
Lu Jinqi — not caring about what they were thinking — took out a pen and paper, quickly wrote a prescription, and handed it over.
“Follow it according to what it says, take it for about three days.”
Kuang Hengdong took the paper and lowered his head. When he read the content on the piece of paper, he could not help but sigh. “Good handwriting.”
“Transfer the fees to this account,” Lu Jinqi wrote a string of numbers and handed it to Kuang Jin.
“Okay.” Kuang Jin took it and started to transfer the money.
In an instant, Lu Jinqi’s phone rang. When she saw the amount on it, she raised her eyebrows slightly.
Kuang Jin smiled. “The remaining 50 million can be considered as my rude apology.”
When Lu Jinqi heard this, she hummed lightly.
Qi Ye and a few friends were about to come over for dinner when they scanned their surroundings and saw a very familiar girl not too far away.
The closer he walked, the more he realized that it was really her.
“Lu Jinqi, what are you doing here?”
The girl who was eating froze when she heard a familiar voice.
It could not be such a coincidence, right?
She lifted her head with a cold expression, but when she did not see the other man, her heart relaxed.
“I’m eating,” Lu Jinqi spat out two words.
‘I’m not asking if you’re eating or not!’
Qi Ye was about to retort when the person beside him smiled and said, “Qi Ye, where did you meet her? She’s really pretty!”
“That’s right, were you keeping her as a secret?”
Hearing these jokes, Qi Ye stomped on the person closest to him and gave a warning, “Stop talking nonsense, or else you’ll be in big trouble.”
With Master Jing acting like he did, how could he dare have any thoughts or feelings towards Lu Jinqi? He did not want to live a short life.
After receiving the warning, the few of them quickly shut up with curiosity in their eyes. “Does Master Jing know that you came to the capital?” Qi Ye sat across from Lu Jinqi, propping up his chin as he slowly asked.
Lu Jinqi raised the end of her eyebrows lazily. “Why should I tell him?”
Qi Ye’s heart choked. Was he not your so-called big brother?
The few people beside them heard this and looked at each other. To think that she was actually related to Master Jing made her more interesting. Who exactly was this girl?
Qi Ye looked at her and called for the waiter. “Arrange another table. We’ll share the bill.” The waiter was in a dilemma. “This…”
“I’ll pay double the money,” a boy stepped forward and said.
Soon, a large table was placed beside Lu Jinqi. She looked at the group of people expressionlessly, her eyes filled with impatience.
“Qi Ye, you’re boring me.”
Qi Ye, who was called out, took the menu and ordered whatever was expensive.
“Do you want to eat anything else?” He turned his head and asked.
Lu Jinqi gripped the side of the table, resisting the urge to hit him. She said coldly, “Yes, your grandpa.”
“I really can’t offer that to you right now. My grandpa is waiting for his little child in Banyan. I guess you’ll have to wait for that to be available,” Qi Ye said as he helplessly spread his hands and winked at Lu Jinqi.
