Luo Su bitterly screamed, and if this were the middle of the night, this abrupt scream would have scared anyone half to death. But in reality, the one who had been hit by a bullet was not him but the bearded man’s corpse.
Although Slickback was dizzy, blind, and unable to keep his balance, he still had a gun. While he couldn’t fire any more curved bullets, the gun was still very lethal.
Luo Su needed to expend the magazine of the Beretta 92F, and in order to make things seem more realistic, he had used the body of the bearded man.
Luo Su was not one who disrespected corpses. Luo Su was a youth who had been raised in a civilization with five thousand years of tradition. Before grabbing the bearded man’s corpse, he had held a discussion with it.
The bearded man hadn’t said anything, so Luo Su took him as a shy character who had given his tacit approval.
Bang! Bang!
“Ah! It broke…my Qilin that can make 374 pumps per minute! It broke!”
Bang! Bang!
“Aaaaah!”
“My…! My…!!!!”
Luo Su didn’t care if Slickback was listening, as his intuition told him that Slickback could sense what was going on. Thus, he remained to hide behind the pillar and hollered and screamed for all he was worth.
Slickback was no easy customer. After firing several times, he realized that he had been tricked by Luo Su and no longer recklessly fired.
The standard magazine of a Beretta 92F contained 15 bullets, but Slickback used an extended magazine with 20 bullets. However, Luo Su’s interference had left him with only two bullets.
Worst of all was that overconfidence had led Slickback to not bring any extra magazines. As for the flintlock, it was a gun he had modified specifically for piercing armor. While it possessed immense power, reloading it took ages. If his last two shots couldn’t deal with Luo Su, he would have to rely on his fists.
The thought of fighting against an enemy while under the negative effects of the flashbang made Slickback irritated. Thus, unless he was absolutely confident, he would not use his last two shots. If Luo Su wouldn’t come out, he would just wait, and it would be best if he could wait until the time the debuff from the flashbang wore off.
Behind the concrete pillar, Luo Su was well aware that the more he delayed, the more time he gave to Slickback to catch his breath. In addition, his Character Card was running out of time.
Luo Su exchanged a glance with the bearded man, who continued to say nothing. While no words had been exchanged, the meaning had been conveyed. Luo Su understood and cautiously raised the bearded man’s body in front of him as he emerged from the cement pillar.
Bang!
Slickback sensed something and fired, striking the bearded man’s chest. The stopping power of the 9mm bullet was top-class, but it was lacking in terms of piercing power. The bullet came to a stop in the middle of the bearded man’s power.
Luo Su had equipped the Subway Police Officer Character Card, so he wasn’t at all worried that the bullet might pierce through the bearded man and hit him.
Slickback managed to open his eyes, but his vision was still white. Through his tears, he could see a blurry gray figure getting closer, but he didn’t dare to fire. Suppressing his dizziness, he silently calculated the distance between him and Luo Su. He took in a deep breath, and suddenly, his heart rate leaped to 400 beats a second.
The world slowed around. Even though his condition was extremely poor, he could still curve his last bullet, and he was confident that it would strike true.
Bang!
Once he fired his shot and heard two bodies drop to the ground, he finally sighed in relief. He immediately pulled out of ‘Bullet Time.’ Unlike Cross and his son, he had obtained this ability through training. If he kept it up for too long, his heart would collapse, and he would die.
Just when Slickback was sighing about how his pride had almost caused him a disaster, he felt a gust of wind, and then a heavy blow to the face crumpled his nose and brought him to the ground.
Luo Su brought Slickback down with a punch and followed up with a firm kick to the head. The nose was the weakest part of a person’s body, and the intense pain would immediately rob someone of the ability to fight.
Luo Su’s two consecutive blows left Slickback dumbfounded. A foot kicked at his hand, sending the Beretta 92F flying over the concrete railing.
Behind Luo Su, the bearded man’s corpse rested on top of Goggles’ body. Yes, Luo Su had carried two corpses with him, exploiting the fact that Slickback couldn’t properly see or hear.
Slickback screamed, anger in his voice, and he became like a beast on the verge of death prepared for one last push. Luo Su didn’t dare to get too close, so he took an assault rifle from the ground and used it as a cudgel to beat Slickback’s face.
Slickback’s face was beaten into a mangled mess, and several teeth flew out. He crawled and rolled along the ground until he got up to the concrete railing. Staggering to his feet, he reached behind his waist and pulled out his flintlock.
A flintlock without a bullet was just an igniter. Luo Su stepped forward and swung the assault rifle, sending the flintlock flying.
Slickback was strong, and Luo Su was no weakling, so both of them knocked each other’s guns out of their hands.
A second later, Slickback roared, opening his eyes through the tears and blood and charging at Luo Su. He was suppressing his dizziness, and while he still couldn’t hear, his vision had recovered enough to determine where Luo Su was.
With the Subway Police Officer Character Card, Luo Su’s grappling ability had skyrocketed. The grappling techniques he had learned at police academy were far inferior to those learned by Delta Force, and while his physical constitution hadn’t improved, his fighting ability had increased an entire level.
Slickback was still a little unfocused, making his reactions somewhat slower. Luo Su agilely dodged his charge and gave him another savage beating, finishing with a kick to the temple, maintaining his balance by leaning on the concrete railing.
Slickback knew that if he didn’t do something, he would be done for. Suppressing that painful feeling of his heart being torn apart, he once more entered Bullet Time.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The rapid secretion of adrenaline caused his heart to beat rapidly. Slickback’s vision gradually began to clear, and while he was still a little unsteady, this was not a major hindrance.
Slickback, who was fighting for every second, wasted no time. Stomping on the ground, he charged forward like a tornado, stirring up a great cloud of dust as his right fist punched at Luo Su’s temple.
In Bullet Time, Slickback’s speed, strength, and nervous reflexes all reached an absurd level. Luo Su used his sixth sense and raised an arm to block, but he still ended up getting knocked flying by the punch.
An aching pain came from the arm he had used to block. Luo Su curled up in the air and tried to protect his weak points. His instincts saved him again, as Slickback advanced and kicked him to the ground.
It was very painful. His muscles and tissues were bruised and bloodied, but nothing was broken.
Seeing Slickback coming in for a kick from the side, Luo Su rushed in rather than retreat, jamming an elbow at where his heart was.
[Ding! User has broken a mental barrier, Wisdom +1, currently 10 (9+1)]
Luo Su didn’t hear the notice from the system. He only knew that his reaction time was faster, and his ability to predict attacks even more accurate. He couldn’t compare to the speed and strength of Slickback, but with his prediction ability, he could avoid Slickback’s fatal blows.
The unexpected blow to the heart forced Slickback to pull out of Bullet Time. He staggered back two steps, his face twisted in pain and disbelief.
“You…could you also be…”
Luo Su didn’t care what Slickback had to say. The momentum from his charge was spent after striking Slickback with his elbow, and because he used too much strength, his feet slipped, and he fell forward. Luo Su didn’t try to stop this, instead of using this chance to launch an unexpected attack.
His target was located right between Slickback’s legs. There was nothing to be embarrassed about. This wasn’t a sparring match, but a fight for his life, so every part was up for grabs.
Another elbow!
As Luo Su’s elbow struck, Slickback was brought down by this contemptible move used only by gangsters, his eyes almost bursting out of their sockets. The sight of him kneeling on the ground, his legs crossed together, was enough to understand that he would find it very hard to pee in the future.
A light tap might make someone attack in rage, but a heavy blow was certain to put them in so much pain that death was preferable.
Slickback’s eyes had already lost focus, his mouth was drooling, and he was even starting to make strange gurgling sounds.
Luo Su showed no pity. Walking to his back, he put his arm around Slickback’s neck and twisted.
Clack! Slickback dropped to the ground, and besides the occasional twitching limb, he ceased to move…
