My Apocalypse Domain - Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Miracle
At the entrance to the villa area, the survivors were chatting with each other.
This announcement had come too suddenly, and no one had given an explanation. They couldn’t help but speculate on what was going on.
Lu Xiaopeng was also confused. He had a crazy idea, but he quickly shook his head and sighed.
Chen Haiping also stood beyond the yellow line, recalling Tang Yu’s words from just now.
He was in disbelief!
Suddenly, the ground trembled.
Stones began to roll off the piles of rock, but they all fell within the yellow line, seemingly pulled by some inexplicable force.
The rocks swiftly dissolved and sank into the ground.
A moment later, rumble!
The quaking intensified, and then black walls slowly began to rise from the ground, shedding small pieces of stone.
One meter.
Two meters.
Five meters.
Ten meters!
In just a few seconds, a majestic wall had appeared before them!
The black wall was a single body, with no sign of any bricks being laid atop each other. It was ten meters tall and four meters thick, heavy and imposing like a lurking black behemoth!
Standing in front of the wall, everyone felt puny and insignificant.
Chen Haiping, standing next to the gate, was speechless.
He knew of Tang Yu’s plans, and after seeing the castle, Chen Haiping was sure that his chief had a special ability that allowed him to construct buildings in a short amount of time. Perhaps it was some mutation of an Earth Element ability, or perhaps it was some unique construction ability.
He had been very surprised to hear that Chief Tang was planning to build walls. Despite his abilities, the villa area was huge. It would be a quite arduous task to just construct a small earthen wall around the area.
But now!
This black, heavy, and imposing wall could not be described as some simple earthen wall. This was a true wall, one that could resist the attacks of demonized beasts!
Even the former shelter had only a simple barbed wire fence that served far better as a deterrent than for any actual defensive purpose.
This was Chen Haiping’s reaction. The reactions of the other survivors to these imposing walls were so exaggerated that they could be gathered and made into an emote pack.
They found it completely impossible to describe what they were feeling!
Was this a legendary ability user?
But the ability users they had heard of were not so powerful that they could single-handedly mold walls that could enclose the entire villa area.
This grandiose feat was a marvel.
No, a miracle!
The survivors went insane. They had witnessed a miracle!
And to their delight, with these walls, was there any need to worry about the shelter’s safety?!
Suddenly, a massive roar came from the distance.
Drawn by the sound produced by the rising walls, demonized beasts were rushing over.
One of them, a green-red silhouette, was moving the fastest and leading the pack.
It flew along the mountain slopes, and in the blink of an eye, it reached the entrance to the villa area!
The survivors paled.
The terror of demonized beasts was a nightmare to ordinary people like them, and their faces became as white as sheets of paper.
Lu Xiaopeng looked left and right and realized that he was the only Awakened in this group.
If he didn’t step out now, who would?!
Wasn’t it just a Demonized Wolf?
He had also been facing one last time, and though the result was better left unsaid, now… he would definitely show this Demonized Wolf what an Awakened was!
Lu Xiaopeng raised his arms and strode forward.
That Demonized Wolf was getting closer and closer!
He could see that red flames burned atop its green fur.
This demonized beast was far larger than an ordinary Demonized Wolf, the size of a small truck.
Lu Xiaopeng froze. This demonized beast… didn’t seem like the one he had previously faced.
He glanced at himself.
He saw thin arms and legs, without even a real weapon to his name. Was he going to try to punch it to death?
The green and red giant wolf drew closer and closer with a terrifying momentum.
He almost wanted to cry. Brother Wolf, please don’t come any closer!
Lu Xiaopeng wanted to run, but he looked behind him at the survivors, some of which were the classmates he knew…
He clenched his teeth. Even if he was no match for this giant wolf, he could at least hold it down for a while!
He just needed to fight the giant wolf for a bit and wait for the shelter’s experts to arrive. He was a man who had dealt with a demonized beast before, and he was also someone who had naturally awakened!
With this thought in mind, Lu Xiaopeng stepped forward.
Just watch this Lu deal with it…
“It’s Captain Roger!” one of the survivors cried out in joy.
Turning in the direction of the voice, Lu Xiaopeng saw an armored man wielding a giant sword walking over.
This man had left a very deep impression on Lu Xiaopeng. He had met him upon his arrival at the shelter. Apparently, he was the captain of the shelter’s patrol squad and possessed astounding strength.
From the pressure given off by Roger, Lu Xiaopeng could tell that this was an expert that he couldn’t match, but… He looked back at that truck-sized wolf and felt that even a man like Roger seemed rather small.
He should be able to deal with it…
Roger stepped forward, unperturbed as the large demonized beast got closer and closer.
He stomped forward, creating a web of cracks on the stone pavement of the square.
A moment later, Roger shot forward like a cannonball, his heavy armor seemingly weightless.
Fifty meters…
Twenty meters…
Ten meters…
The survivors waited with bated breath. The bolder ones had their eyes fixed on the battlefield while the more cowardly ones had already closed their eyes.
The wolf’s claws were larger than a human torso and were covered in flames, leaving behind scorched earth in their wake.
Roger focused as he gripped his sword with both hands.
“Dieeee!”
The giant sword exploded with red light, a thick and concentrated demonic glow!
Combat Art – Blood Slash!
The red light brushed past the giant wolf’s claws, and as it swept across its torso, Roger had already appeared on the other side of the giant wolf.
With a groan, the giant wolf collapsed on the ground. It struggled once or twice before life slowly began to drain out of it.
After dealing with the giant, green-red wolf, Roger coldly advanced.
The remaining demonized beasts drawn over by the commotion couldn’t compare to the giant wolf. Even when they worked together, they presented no danger to Roger, who quickly managed to slay them. A field of demonized beast corpses was left behind to tell the tale of the… rather intense battle that had taken place.
Lu Xiaopeng: “…”
It was over?
The strongest demonized beast he had ever seen had been killed in a single strike?
Could the gap between Awakened be this huge? After all, he was also a natural Awakened!
As he looked at Roger’s somber figure, his heart burned with passion.
He then thought about the mysterious Chief Tang of the shelter.
When he first heard that Chief Tang wanted to rebuild the shelter, he thought that it was a fantasy.
But now, with this wall and a fierce man like Captain Roger… it didn’t seem impossible!
Green Shade Shelter was much stronger than he had imagined.
