My Beloved Mr. Mu - Chapter 51
Chapter 51: This Is The Difference Between Us
Ning Youyou would not tell them the truth, of course. She did not want to trouble her parents even more with what happened last night.
“Mom, the company held a ball last night, and it ended quite late, so I decided to have a sleepover at my colleague’s place. I’ve just come home this morning.”
Her father entered the house and saw her from across the living room. “Youyou, Qianya is here looking for you. Her car is there by the roadside.”
Ning Youyou looked at her mother and gave her a faint smile. “I know. I was waiting for them.”
“Mom! Dad! I’m going out with Qianya today!”
“What’s all the rush? She’s just come home, and now she’s heading out again. Qianya should come inside!”
Both Ning Youyou and Yi Qianya were seated at the back. Yi Beichen was the driver for the day. From her house, their next destination was to go to a restaurant to grab some food.
On their way, Yi Qianya was leaning on Ning Youyou and telling her everything about the new movie that she was working on.
“Youyou, I’ve officially signed as the second lead of the movie, which revolves around the life of the rich and powerful. I’ll be playing the supporting role of a malicious woman, which is challenging. You know what, when I first arrived at the filming studio, everyone thought that I was difficult to get along with, but I soon proved them wrong. Now we’re all friends.”
“Qianya, congratulations on this marvelous opportunity! You’re another step closer to your dream,” Ning Youyou replied with her heartfelt wishes.
“Hehe! The whole filming period will only take about three months. Including the post-production, the official screening should be around the start of the new year. I’m planning to move out and get a place of my own, anywhere but home. Seeing my parents drives me mad.”
“Qianya, your parents only want what’s best for you, why do you hold a grudge against them?”
“Youyou, you don’t understand. I’m old enough to stop being manipulated by them. In fact, I don’t even want to listen to a word they say,” Yi Qianya said. Uneasily, she turned and looked out of the window as she became overwhelmed with guilt at the thought of what her parents had done to her best friend.
Yi Beichen interrupted them with a pleasant announcement.
“We’re here at the restaurant!”
They were having a seafood feast. All the dishes were Ning Youyou’s favorites.
“Youyou, eat slowly.” Yi Beichen carefully removed the bones from the fish before placing it on her plate.
“Brother, I want it too!” Yi Qianya looked at her brother with eager eyes.
Yi Beichen paused and glared at her before putting another piece of fish on her plate, this time, without removing the bones.
“Oh, I see, this is the difference between us!” Yi Qianya said with a shrug and a wink at her brother.
After the meal, Yi Qianya took Ning Youyou’s hand as they entered the mall to go on a shopping spree.
Yi Qianya proceeded with unrestrained vigor. She had already picked up some of the most stylish bags, shoes, and clothes.
Ning Youyou was only planning to be a window shopper, but Yi Qianya kept egging her on, so she ended up being dragged into the fitting room to try on some outfits.
“Brother, what do you think? Is it nice?”
“I think the pastel tone looks nicer on her.”
“Wow! I think the white one looks best on Youyou!”
“Brother, don’t you think so?”
Yi Beichen stood quietly, with his gaze fixed on the girl who was now standing in front of the mirror.
After a few attempts, Ning Youyou changed back into her own clothes so that the sales assistant could collect the clothes and redisplay them.
“We’re taking everything!”
Ning Youyou was taken aback by what the man had just said.
Beichen!
