My Breathtaking CEO Wife - Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Chapter 47 – A Monk (He Shang) from the Shaolin Temple
“Hey little girl, what’s your name?”
Li Tian asked, whilst driving.
It had been around ten minutes since Li Tian released the girl from the box, and she seemed to have loosened up around him.
“I’m Wen Wen. Uncle, are we going to the airport?”
Wen Wen asked after seeing some iconic buildings along the road.
“Yup. I was on my way to go pick a friend up before I saved you.”
“Then you must be really good at fighting. Those people were so scary, they lied to me that they were bringing me to see my dad, and then tied me as soon as I got into the car.”
It was no doubt that Wen Wen was more relaxed now, as her tone while speaking to Li Tian sounded really adorable and childlike.
“Of course, I’m a superman. Wen Wen, if you ever have any problems at all, just come and see me.”
Li Tian was full of love and kindness in front of young children like her. For someone who was known to never make promises, he even broke out of character and made a promise with the little girl.
“But how do I find you next time?”
“Umm… I’ll give you my phone number, okay? Next time, just call me.”
Li Tian looked for a pen and a piece of paper in the car and wrote down his phone number for Wen Wen.
Fortunately, that car belonged to Lin Yi, so she usually had some essentials inside the car.
As soon as she got his number, Wen Wen treated it as though it was some treasure, and carefully put the piece of paper into her pocket.
“Oh, right. Wen Wen, where do you live? I’ll send you home after I pick my friend up.”
When she heard Li Tian’s question, Wen Wen had a troubled look planted on her face.
“I, I don’t know where I live.”
Wen Wen seemed dejected as soon as she finished her sentence.
“It’s alright. I’ll ask for help from the police. You can just tell us the names of your parents later and the police will find your home address.”
Li Tian quickly comforted her.
Soon, they arrived at the airport.
There weren’t many people at the airport that night, so Li Tian didn’t have to wait outside for long. Following this, he saw a familiar figure from afar.
A bald-headed man with a messy beard.
“Miss, this monk sees bad omen at the top of your head. You need to get rid of it today. How about I do a ritual for you to get rid of it?”
“You’re insane, what a pervert!”
“Miss, no need to be rude? I said you had a bad omen at the top of your head, not at your chest… Geez, what’s going on with the world nowadays?”
…
“Sir, I am a monk and I noticed from the constellations that you’ve been having financial difficulties recently. How about I perform a ritual for you. It’ll only cost $2000.”
“**** off! It’s cloudy today!”
“What? I looked at the constellations last night, okay?”
…
“Sir…”
“Venerable, I can see that you will soon face a disaster. How about I give you some advice for free? It won’t cost you any money, I’ll do it for the buddha pendant around your neck?”
“Oh my god!”
The two friends hugged.
“You’re finally here, you whippersnapper. I’ve talked to at least 100 people here, but have never once succeeded.”
He Shang exclaimed.
“Ditched the whole ‘monk’ act?”
“Bloody hell, I’m not a real monk.”
“Then what are the six dots on your head?”
“It’s my style. As long as I’m happy, it’s okay.”
…
He was the friend Li Tian went to pick up at the airport. His name was actually Liu Wei, but people usually called him He Shang.
He Shang used to train at the Shaolin Monastery, but due to his strong desires to excel over other monks, he left the place after he was reprimanded several times.
Within Li Tian’s team, He Shang was considered a top fighter.
He Shang also had a strong physique on top of ‘unbreakable’ bones. From his experience, Li Tian knew how much it would hurt to punch He Shang with just their bare hands. It was comparable to hitting concrete.
Just as He Shang was getting into the car, he suddenly noticed that there was a little girl in the passenger’s seat.
She had the most pinchable cheeks and looked like an adorable porcelain doll.
“What the! You have a child now although you were only back a few days ago?!”
He Shang shouted as though he had discovered a new continent.
“Open your eyes. Does she look anything like me? Not to mention that I’ve only been back for a few days, how could a child this big be my kid?”
Li Tian answered. He Shang immediately thought to himself, True, he’s only been back for, how many days now? It doesn’t make sense to have a child this big.
But… Why would he bring a kid with him in the car?
Could it be…
“Woah woah, you terrible human being. How could you do this to a child? Tell me honestly, how much did you pay?”
He Shang said, whilst revealing a cheeky expression. On the other hand, Li Tian looked utterly sickened upon seeing the expression on his face.
“What do you mean by ‘how much did I pay’?”
“Of course I’m talking about your first night. Didn’t you pay to have her? I really didn’t expect this from you, but I don’t mind it…”
“Gosh! Buzz off to the backseat, will you!?”
Li Tian was speechless. How could he think of that? One fact was certain, this man’s mind was filled with all sorts of filthy thoughts.
Wen Wen heard He Shang’s words and proceeded to stare at him with rage.
“Hmph! Mr. Superman, why are you friends with him?”
“You little brat. What’s wrong with being friends with me?”
After He Shang got into the backseat, he quickly retorted after hearing what Wen Wen said about him.
“You look so ugly.”
“I’m ugly?”
“Not just any kind of ugly, you look frightening!”
“I will…”
He Shang was annoyed by Wen Wen’s words, but just when he tried to grab her face, Li Tian stopped him.
“I rescued this little girl just now whilst I was on my way to the airport. I’ll send her home in a bit, so can you not do this now?”
Li Tian had never been against He Shang’s attitude. On the contrary, he had always admired He Shang’s character and personality. However, He Shang just seemed so petty to be bickering with a little girl.
“Hmph!”
“Hmph!”
The two expressed their annoyance at the same time. Then, Wen Wen turned her head to face forward, ignoring He Shang completely.
Meanwhile, Li Tian slowly drove towards the city.
“How long are you planning to stay here this time around? How’s your injury?”
Li Tian seemed to be very concerned about He Shang’s injury.
“Not sure, maybe a few months? I’m almost all healed, but I need an item in order for me to be completely healed. I came back this time to look for this item.”
“And what’s that?”
“A Thousand-year Lingzhi mushroom. As far as I know, only the Treasure Pavilion in the Shaolin Temple has it. I’ve been looking all over for this item whilst I was abroad but to no avail. I need to find a thousand-year Lingzhi and pair it with the hundred-year ginseng I have for my injuries to heal completely. Currently, I can’t even use more than half of my strength.”
He Shang seemed slightly glum as he spoke.
Although Li Tian didn’t see his injuries, Li Tian knew that He Shang must’ve been injured quite badly this time.
“Where did you get hurt?”
“My Tianyin vein.”
