Chapter 11: Looked at Her Like She Was a Retard

“I-I am fine.” The fair and plump young man grinned from ear to ear at the sight of the lovely young woman before him. “Thanks, Miss. Do you mind repeating the last thing you said?”
“Are you okay?” Even though Gu Fenghua was stunned, she did as he asked.
“No no. Not this line.” The fat boy rubbed his hands excitedly and corrected her.
“These students are a disgrace. How could they openly rob him?” repeated Gu Fenghua as she blinked.
“Not this either.” The fat boy shook his head and looked at Gu Fenghua even more earnestly.
“We have to help that hottie!” Gu Fenghua suddenly caught on and said with her face annoyed.
“Yes yes. That’s it.” The fat boy got excited.
Gu Fenghua felt somewhat regretful about saving him. What should she do now? She contemplated as her lips twitched.
Little White Flower had thrashed all three attackers and they were lying on the ground weakly as they moaned in agony. Luo Enen swiftly cleaned them out. Although she was not good at it yet, it was okay. Luo Enen rooted for herself in her heart and was determined to work hard to improve her skills.
“Did you cook that? Do you mind treating us to lunch since we helped you,” said Gu Fenghua candidly as she glanced at the fire behind the fat boy.
“Sure thing. Of course, help yourself.” The fat boy turned and headed back to his tent. “I just finished cooking when those salted duck eggs attacked me.”
“Salted duck eggs? Why did you call them that? That certainly sounds strange,” asked Luo Enen quizzically as she brought the backpacks over.
Both Gu Fenghua and the fat boy looked at Luo Enen as though she was an idiot.
A while later…
“Haha! Now I get it. You hate eating salted duck eggs, so you called them that.” Luo Enen helped herself to the tasty food with utter disregard for their looks of disdain.
After sitting down to introduce themselves, they started chatting. Luo Enen finally realized why the fat boy called those attackers salted duck eggs. He simply called them names using his most hated food.
The fat boy’s name was Jun Lansheng and he was a freshman of the academy just like them. He was rather powerful when he fought his attackers. He ought to be able to take care of himself even without Gu Fenghua and Luo Enen’s help. He was also a master chef! That was the most important skill he had!
After Gu Fenghua sampled Jun Lansheng’s cooking, she wanted him on her team.
“So you are the infamous Gu Fenghua.” Jun Lansheng squeezed his chubby chin as he looked at Gu Fenghua with his eyes wide while he shook his head and said, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m completely surprised by this demon plant of yours. Also, it is very powerful”.
“Oh yes. Let me give you those tokens.” Gu Fenghua handed him the tokens Luo Enen had swiped from those attackers. After all, Jun Lansheng would have ended up defeating them even without their help. It would simply take slightly longer. However, he did not take the tokens and gestured for Gu Fenghua to keep them.
“Really? What have you heard?” asked Luo Enen quizzically with her mouth filled with grilled meat. Since she was not from the capital and did not spend much time there, she had not heard about Gu Fenghua.
Jun Lansheng grinned. “This is not important. The important thing is that I want to be on your team. From now on, Fenghua can hold onto all the tokens we get.”
Huh? Gu Fenghua was startled when Jun Lansheng beat her to say this. However, she was happy with what she heard. She already wanted to convince this chubby master chef to join their team, but he took the initiative to suggest it. It was unfathomable why he offered. Was he unafraid that they were plotting against him and planning to steal his tokens when he was not looking?
Jun Lansheng seemed to catch on to what Gu Fenghua was thinking. He straightened his bangs narcissistically and flicked his hair coolly before he commended Gu Fenghua, “After all, it is rare to meet someone with as fine taste as you. How could anyone with such a keen eye be a bad person? Since I have great trust in you, we should team up.”
Gu Fenghua was speechless while Luo Enen parted her lips in disbelief. How could anyone be considered a kind soul simply for having a keen eye? Many years later, Gu Fenghua and Luo Enen would never forget how they first encountered the fat boy who they could trust their lives to.
Gu Fenghua’s team now consisted of three members. Ever since Jun Lansheng joined her team, she felt as though everything was better.
“What do you want for lunch?” asked Jun Lansheng when it was time to eat.
“I feel like having hot pot.” Gu Fenghua ordered what she wanted.
Luo Enen swallowed some saliva as she looked at Jun Lansheng dead straight and sent chills down his back. It felt spine-tingling when she looked at him as though he were food. After spending two days with them, Jun Lansheng had more or less learned of Gu Fenghua and Luo Enen’s natures. The two of them liked to eat, but one of them was a tasteful foodie while the other was less demanding.
What was considered a tasteful foodie? Gu Fenghua liked her food perfectly cooked and enjoyed the whole package and was very picky, so she had a finer taste. In comparison, Luo Enen was just a glutton who had few demands as long as it tasted good, especially meat, she would eat regardless of its appearance and wanted to try everything edible.
For instance, Gu Fenghua would prepare a pot, stove, exquisite cutlery, and the best charcoal when Jun Lansheng prepared the food for the hot pot. She would also set up some fine furniture before she sat down to eat.
In comparison, Luo Enen found it acceptable to eat standing. Hence, Jun Lansheng categorized them as a tasteful foodie and an undemanding glutton. Even though both of them adored good food, they expressed it differently.
Gu Fenghua and Luo Enen were surprised that Jun Lansheng had an interspatial ring as well. His ring was filled with mostly ingredients, condiments, and all kinds of kitchen tools. Jun Lansheng enjoyed eating and loved to cook. Otherwise, would he end up so fat? It was all thanks to the food he ate.
There was fragrant soup, thinly sliced meat, fresh vegetables, and delectable sauces. Gu Fenghua held her chopsticks as she ate contentedly. Even though her gestures were graceful, she finished her food quickly. Luo Enen was even faster as she attacked the food swiftly with a look of bliss in her eyes.
