The Portable Prison currently contains 1/1 lifeforms, reaching its maximum limit.
Until the size of the prison enlarges or if the subject opts to release the lifeform(s) within, it is not possible to activate the containment ability.
The imprisoned lifeform will follow the orders given by the subject to a certain level, but any orders given that would go against their concept of self will result in severe resistance from the lifeform, and result in a lowered [disposition].
Please be sure to pay attention to the contained lifeform’s [disposition]. If this value falls below favorable levels for an extended period of time, the lifeform might rebel, or even result in containment failure.

As the system prompt ended, Chenli was still inside the cell when she opened her eyes.
Han Dong had originally thought that Chenli would be in a state of panic because she was now trapped behind a cell, but how was he to expect that she would actually smile, not at all repulsed by the cold and dark prison.
When the tentacles had plunged into the back of her head, a sense of ‘home’ had been implanted in her subconscious, and that resulted in giving Chenli the sensation of going back home as she stayed in the prison cell.
Furthermore, there was also a very important change… The expression behind Chenli’s brown eyes, aside from showing that of a ‘bosom friend’, the look she gave seemed to also give off a ‘master-servant’ relationship.
Han Dong very sincerely said to her, “Thank you for trusting me.”
“After my mother got killed, my life had only been for the sake of getting my revenge. My younger brother Daqing has his own family matters… Once this situation is over, he will be able to get back to his own life, but I don’t have anything left to tether me to this world, and I do not wish to become a burden to him either. Following you to leave this place together would actually be a good thing.”
Chenli had accepted everything very frankly.
“Then I’ll have to depend on you for what happens next… Once this matter is all over, I will bring you out to a whole new world.”
“Yes.”
Getting back to the bungalow once more, Chenli put on a look of feebleness, using the wall as support as she slowly limped her way back to her room 6.
Han Dong departed from his room as well, about to head down and assemble with the rest of the team. But how was he to know that the moment he opened the door, he bumped right into Edward, with his curly blonde hair.
Edward asked with concern, “Nicholas, my friend. How’s your body doing?”
“It’s just that I did not get a good night’s rest last night, and after learning what happened with Herbert, my anxiety and subsequent lack of sleep made me feel a little weak… I’m feeling much better after I ate breakfast.”
“There shouldn’t be much danger during the day, perhaps you would prefer to rest in your room?”
Edward was just about to turn around and leave when he abruptly turned back around like he suddenly remembered something… Though this string of actions he did appeared to be somewhat intentional.
“Oh right! Nicholas, I happened to see Chenli leave your room when I was coming up the stairs… If I were to count the time she’s been up here, that meant she probably spent approximately 20 minutes with you, right? Are you alright, spending such a long time with the ‘Accursed’?”
“I’m fine.”
Edward suddenly lost all intention of leaving but instead took the initiative to enter Han Dong’s room, closing the door behind him as he did so.
“Friend Nicholas, I hope you can tell me what happened in those 20 minutes, including the contents of what you talked about, as well as the thoughts you might have. This event has an ‘evil spirit’, and the possibility of it being Chenli is huge. Perhaps the ‘evil spirit’ that possessed her would only appear at night. Any information that you may have learned about her might be very important to us.”
“Sure,” Han Dong had already thought of what he would say.
He began by saying Chenli was concerned for his physical health when she came up to check on him. After all, Han Dong and the others were from the same film group and had helped with the exorcism process. The two then proceeded to sit down and finish their noodles together, discussing a few things about life.
Edward was skeptical, “That’s all?”
“That’s right… However…” It was as if Han Dong had recalled some frightening detail.
“However what?”
Han Dong faked a look of somber seriousness, “When Chenli was staying in my room, the temperature dropped quite a bit during the time. And while we were in conversation, when the topic got to her experience of her possession, she pulled out a kitchen knife from out of nowhere… That scared me quite a bit. But she was merely emotionally charged, and did not do anything that threatened me.”
Edward used the mechanical prosthetic wearing those white gloves of his to rub his chin thoughtfully as if he was trying to recall something.
“Hmm… A kitchen knife you say? Yes, indeed. I seem to remember that Chenli really liked that kitchen knife of hers, carrying it all around with her wherever she went. Nicholas, thank you for sharing such important information. As the team leader, I need to do my best to ensure all of you would survive this… So let me tell you something.”
“What is it?” Han Dong was curious.
“According to that ‘returnee’ friend of mine, most novice missions would have this sort of ‘survival type of event’, with the short ones being just a day, while the long ones going for half a month. Nevertheless, no matter how long the people were required to survive, the events that progressed early on would not be very fast. That is intentionally done so entrants would have a sense of ease as they got used to things. Often at times at around the final stretch of the event, there would be a sudden increase in progression, even going so far as to result in some unthinkable things to occur! The teams that number in the tens might be able to ensure everyone survives in the early stage but would find themselves getting wiped out in the last few hours. This sort of abrupt turn of events had been dubbed by my friend, as well as the members of the Knights’ Regiment, as ‘Gear Shift’.”
Hang Dong was surprised, “What team leader is saying is… The evil spirit might very well go crazy and murder people in the final few hours?”
“That’s right. I reckon this ‘Gear Shift’ would happen in the second half of the last day. Today, we will continue to stay in our rooms and rest and act as normal. When 0600hrs arrive on the next day and all of us gather… I’ll think of a solution to ensure all of us survives.”
“Thank you, leader.”
“There’s no need to thank me. Just stay in your room and rest up, that will do… Since you are fine even after being alone with Chenli for 20 minutes, that proves that there wouldn’t be too much of a danger today as well.”
Watching Edward leave, Han Dong wrote down the term ‘Gear Shift’, as well as Edward’s name.
“Edward Murray… This person’s origin is definitely not simple. Furthermore, it is apparent that he came to this event with ample preparation, so he should have quite a good grasp of the details the Space of Destiny had hidden. Still, he had simply told me about the ‘rule’ regarding the development of this event, and he never did really tell me about the real ‘restriction’ that would be useful. I’ll need to keep an eye out on him. As for the so-called ‘gear shift’… It might very well be what I had guessed, where the limitations that the evil spirit needed to contend with the last two days might end up becoming greatly weakened or removed entirely.”
On this third day, Han Dong pretty much waited inside his room and did not leave the confines of his room. The reason he gave was that he was feeling physically unwell and that their team leader Edward had also given him permission to do so.
Han Dong had even gotten Chenli to personally send over his lunch and dinner to his room. He basically spent the entire day ‘thinking’.
Everything was very normal, and it was like what Edward had told him, the ‘gear shift’ would happen in the moment when everyone had slightly let their guard down. Even a team with over ten members could be wiped out in the last few hours.
It was now the evening.
After dinner, Han Dong left his room for the first time that day by using the chance when he brought his bowl back to the first floor kitchen.
Before sunset, he headed out to the latrine to relieve himself of all his biological needs.
Of course… The main reason was for him to meet up with Chenli in secret.
Heading round to the back of the latrine after he was done, even though he had mentally prepared himself in advance, he was still slightly shocked.
With her disheveled hair, Chenli was dressed in red and had her kitchen knife lifted. Half her body was hidden behind a tree.
“Go according to my instructions, work together with your younger brother tonight and begin the operation… Whether I can survive the night would depend on your performance.”
“Okay.”
Han Dong had even offered her a compliment before he departed, “You’ve dressed the part far better than what I had planned… You almost gave me quite the scare.”
