Fighting against the plagued family, there were two points that exceeded Han Dong’s expectations. The first point was good news. The second was bad.
The good news was that the combat prowess of Cursed Woman, Chenli’ was far higher than the ‘E+’ he had initially estimated. Against these corpses that were limited to the average human’s physical capabilities, she was even able to sever limbs in just one slash.
The bad news was that the plague was using the family of bodies to become physically active, so no matter how Chenli sliced and diced, the parts that were cut off would still be able to move independently on the ground.
In the process of the fighting, there was one such finger that Chenli had not noticed that managed to climb up her calf, using its nails to tear the outer layer of skin and transmit the plague.
“Miss Chen, try your best to gather all their bodies together in a bunch.”
“Understood…”
When everything was in place, Han Dong tossed out the two lousy bottles of white wine toward the flesh pile.
Chenli expertly sliced the bottles with a single stroke of her knife, splashing all the white wine over the Plagued Corpses.
Han Dong swiftly followed this up by forcefully tossing out all the plastic lighters toward the ground. When the plastic casings shattered, the difference in the internal pressures of the lighters and that of the atmosphere around them caused a small internal explosion, and the highly flammable white wine very rapidly ignited.
These plagued corpses were most afraid of being set on fire… As long as they were confined to biological creatures, a fire would be able to very easily burn the plague bacteria; even the heat resistance of the spores would not exceed 130 Celsius.
Those corpses were completely engulfed in flames.
After ascertaining that the basically burnt corpses had already lost activity and were no longer of a threat of any sort, Han Dong’s metallic syringe appeared in his right hand and he extracted the cell essence of the plagued corpse.
The prompt for completing this hidden event also soon sounded.
However, Han Dong did not think about retrieving the reward after he kept his syringe but rushed over to Chenli’s side in the first instance.
“Miss Chen, do you mind if you sit over by the wall there… If we do not treat that wound on your leg in time, you would be in serious trouble once the bacteria spreads around your body.”
“Okay.”
Chenli sat against the wall and extended out her wounded right leg.
The ripped hole in her jeans already had green pus oozing out from the wound. The situation did not seem encouraging at all.
“I’ll need to inspect your calf and the surrounding region… Are you alright with that?”
“Yeah.”
After getting her consent, Han Dong used his knife and cut off the denim fabric around the wound to begin observing the spread of the bacteria.
But unexpectedly, all he saw was Chenli’s snow white calves, and there was not any visible indication that the infection was spreading.
“That’s strange… It has been a while since you got injured… Adding to the fact that you were engaged in vigorous activity, your bloodstream should have transported the bacteria to other parts of your body. Why has it not spread?”
Han Dong used the light from his flashlight and closely inspected Chenli. He then saw that there was this ‘evil aura’ that was lingering around the wound, and the plague bacteria seemed to have been isolated within this evil aura.
“There’s actually such a function as well?”
Han Dong gasped in astonishment as he pulled out a bottle of the white wine and began applying it to the wound on her calf.
Han Dong turned to look at Chenli, “Bear with it… the next step is going to be really painful.”
“Got it.”
In order to eradicate the plague, Han Dong used a lighter and lit the alcohol on the wound.
The sound of organic flesh burning could be heard as Chenli violently shuddered in response. Burning the alcohol killed the bacteria around the wound. Most would have fainted after experiencing such intense pain, but Chenli still appeared to be completely normal.
“… Thank you.”
Han Dong smiled, “I should be the one thanking you… Are you physically fine?”
“I’m okay.”
Chenli’s endurance was really strong. She was able to stand up on her feet despite having just been burnt, and all it took was a short rest for her to be moving unhindered again.
As for Han Dong, he was feeling quite a bit of excitement as he went to retrieve his well-deserved reward.
At that moment where he set the plagued corpses on fire, a bronze treasure chest appeared out of nowhere right in the cellar… Han Dong stared at the treasure chest that came from unknown origins and became even more curious about the Space of Destiny.
When the chest opened, Han Dong saw a shortsword that was about 40 centimeters (15-16 inches) long set upon the red cushion within. A viper was intricately carved on the hilt of the sword, the sharp blade shining a faint green gleam when he shone his flashlight right at it.
“This is..?!?!”
Han Dong gripped the shortsword in his hand, and he immediately got a general description regarding this Fate weapon.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
“A Fate weapon that is similar to what you find in games?”
Han Dong immediately recalled the longsword that the Black Rose Cavalry Brigade Captain had pulled out that had a frosty white air about it. That should also be considered a Fate weapon.
“Such an item would definitely increase my survival rate tremendously… And what is this ‘Mysticism Mastery’? This is quite interesting. I’ll have to slowly attempt to understand this after I survive.”
Han Dong replaced his common knife with the short sword, wearing it on his waist.
The entire hidden event took him a total of 1 hour, and the main scenario still had about 6 and a half hours to go… There was still time to make it back to the bungalow, and this accidental windfall had helped raise Han Dong’s survival rate.
“Miss Chen, let’s take a detour before heading back.”
“Why is that?”
“Now that my team leader Edward killed the scapegoat that he had with him, he would most definitely head up the mountain to locate me in order to protect himself… It’s best if I avoid meeting him for the time being.”
“Got it.”
But in this torrential downpour, the trail up the mountain was slippery… In the end, with the help of Chenli, the two of them spent 20 minutes before they successfully made it back to the bungalow.
Brother Daqing had been waiting in the main hall for their return.
“Brother Daqing, is everything ready?”
“Everything is in place… But because of the huge rain, it might not achieve the result we envisioned.”
“That’s okay. It’ll be fine as long as we can ‘start’!”
Everything was ready. Han Dong thus camped inside the bungalow, ready to get through the dangerous final few hours.

Edward Murray.
As a youth brought up in an outstanding family, he had spent a year and a half preparing for this ‘Space of Destiny’, even taking the initiative to cut off his arm and spend a large amount of his funds to surgically attach his prosthetic arm.
In Edward’s eyes, all the other people who were with him on this ‘trip’ were no more than stepping stones for him to strive and maximize his own survival by utilizing the time limit to his advantage.
However… He was now met with a bit of a problem.
“Where are they? Where is that frail and sickly Nicholas, as well as that female acolyte who is as timid as a mouse? They could not have gone far… Why can’t I find them? Why isn’t there even a bit of light from their flashlights? Those two weakling cowards could not have taken the easy way out and suicided together, right?”
Edward had already searched the dilapidated house that Han Dong had previously been hiding in. He had even searched the entire mountain area using his excellent physical fitness, yet he had yet to find even a trace of anyone around.
That was when in the direction of the forest where his flashlight had shone, Edward spotted a skinny black-haired woman slowly walking over toward him.
“Ackmann… Thank goodness! I’ve finally found you guys!”
Edward took the initiative to move closer to the woman. In his eyes, Ackmann was no more than a tool for him to buy himself more time.
