My Cell Prison - Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Chapter 47 – Divination and the Suture Monster
Most people would be screaming in pain after having their achilles tendon severed. But as someone who had been through a Destiny scenario, Pasha knew that screaming would be pointless. Instead, it might draw the other ferocious insects and exotic creatures in Darkmoon Forest all to their position.
As such, in the first instant that her body fell onto the ground, she quickly tore out part of her clothes and bit down on it to stop herself from screaming out loud.
That was the only thing she could do.
It was impossible for Pasha to heal herself as she had just started learning ‘Mysticism’, so she was useless in the face of such injuries.
Losing her mobility completely while taking their current test meant she would only be a huge liability to Han Dong.
In a life or death situation, many people would choose to abandon their teammates, but that was not what Han Dong did.
However, he did not do this out of compassion or any sense of kindness, but that Han Dong had considered a specific reason and felt he needed to bring Pasha Bhatt together along with him to complete this test.
Han Dong had prepared plenty of random items inside his backpack, and one such item was linen cloth that he bought from a sundry shop, which was perfect to bandage up Pasha’s injury.
“Thank you…” Pasha regarded Han Dong with eyes that were filled with gratitude.
But she was well aware that she could only wait for death now that she had lost her mobility… There was basically no way that she could escape from the Darkmoon Forest in this manner.
“Why don’t you leave first? There’s definitely no way I’m getting out of this forest in my current state.”
Han Dong patiently squatted in front of Pasha and told her his plan, “There’s no need! I might not make it out of here on my own anyway. What happened just now was enough to confirm what you had said! Because you tried to pinpoint the monster’s position with your Divination, that scissor monster ended up targeting you… Right now, it must be hiding somewhere underground lickings its wounds. If you were to dowse for its position again, the scissor monster would continue to keep locked on you, and when the needle on that compass of yours accurately orientate toward the monster, I’ll be able to force it out of the ground the next time it strikes… Let’s have a look and find out just what sort of monster we’re up against.”
“Okay…”
Actually, this was a fairly dangerous plan. If Han Dong were to be just a tad bit slower… Pasha might very well be ‘snipped’ to death as a result.
However, she had already lost all mobility at this point, while it was Han Dong who had chosen to stay by his own volition that came up with this plan. She could not even express her gratitude fast enough for this, let alone reject the offer that he was now presenting.
As long as they were able to slay the monster, it did not matter how badly she had to hobble as she would still be able to slowly make her way out of the Darkmoon Forest eventually.
With the plan set into motion, Han Dong found a relatively squat tree nearby and used the strength from his ghoul arm to hoist his entire body up onto the tree… Quietly, he waited for his target to appear.
Pasha was sitting down by the base of the trunk, leaning against it while a torch was stuck to the ground beside her. She continued to dowse and locate the monster in question.
*Snip~ Snip~ Snip~*
It was not long when the sound of scissors could be heard from amidst the trees again, putting such fear into Pasha’s heart that it was beating hard in trepidation.
Using the gloominess of the forest as cover, Han Dong devoted all his attention down below… The blood vessel in his right arm already had green liquid coursing through his veins.
While lying in wait, the sound of the compass needle moving was exceptionally crisp.
Even a single second delay or a misjudgment of the direction would cause their plan to fail, and Pasha would be killed.
The next three minutes passed very slowly in their minds.
The compass needle in Pasha’s hands was no longer pointing toward a particular direction as it began to quickly spin… meaning that the scissor monster was already upon her.
“Nicholas, it’s coming!”
*Snip~ Snip~ Snip~*
The scissors broke through the ground once again, this time aimed directly at her waist.
At the same time, Han Dong jumped down from up above.
Even though he was on the nearest squat and withered tree, it was still about a 4 meter drop to the ground.
Given the physical condition that Han Dong had been in before, even jumping from such a height would have most definitely caused him to break his legs upon impact.
But it was not the case any longer.
Now that Han Dong’s body had the right arm, he was able to take the inertia that came from such a fall… He could even convert the gravitational pull from his descent into an attack.
Reverting his disguise, his skinny and yellow right arm rapidly changed into the disproportionately sized ghoul arm. It was thick and with green elastic skin, possessing five sharp and curved claws that were imbued with the plague attribute.
Its scissors had already lacerated Pasha’s waist and had penetrated her innards.
Han Dong used the impetus from his fall and dug into the ground with his sharp claws.
He made contact with the scissors monster underground and he could clearly feel the sensation of cutting into soft flesh through his fingertips.
His ghoul arm had managed to absorb most of the impact from his drop, allowing Han Dong to land firmly on the ground.
“Come on out…”
Because his claws had completely stabbed into the target, Han Dong used the immense strength in his Ghoul arm to pull the monster out with all his might!
The ground erupted as it got pulled out…
However, the monster managed to extricate itself from Han Dong’s claws while in mid-air, distancing itself as it landed 3 meters away.
The monster was different from what Han Dong had expected, having imagined a humanoid creature with scissors for hands.
Instead, its body was rotted and shriveled, possessing empty eye sockets with clear signs of stitches at its joints, looking like it was a long dead corpse that had been revived by some form of witchcraft.
It even had 8 ‘degenerated’ arms, each not more than 30 centimeters in length, like the arms of a dwarf… However, these seemingly short arms had their fingers and the back of their hands all covered in hard shells, which gave it the ability to quickly dig and crawl.
As for its ‘scissors’, it was not on its hands but rolled up in its tongue.
With a tongue that spanned over half a meter long that lolled from its mouth, the tip was forked and it was able to manipulate them like the handles of a scissor, allowing it to accurately cut its enemies.
“What is that thing?!?”
Honestly speaking, the scissor monster was much more of a human than the evil spirit from the Destiny Scenario before. This was especially true for its half a meter long tongue, with its scissor tip swaying in the air… It felt like the monster would be more than ready to pierce anyone and anything that got near.

Additionally, Han Dong’s attack had not achieved the intended effect.
Even though his sharp claws had penetrated through the Scissor Monster’s abdomen, it failed to spread the fungal infection. It was as if due to the fact that its body was an amalgamation of corpse parts, the noncorrosive fungus was useless against it.
“A product of surgical suture… An instructor who mastered suture techniques in the Department of Mysticism would be able to create such a puppet,” Pasha suddenly blurted out the origin of the Scissor Monster.
“How do we take it down?”
“Its core. This sort of suture puppets would be created with a core, and it is that very core that maintains its various functions. You can kill it as long as you are able to destroy its core.”
“Core… Is that similar to a nucleus?”
Han Dong had originally thought that his huge ghoul claw would be able to end it all with its cemetery fungal infection.
“Looks like I’ve been thinking of this far too simply… Do I have to take this fight head on?”
Han Dong did the best he could to adopt a proper battle stance.
It was no more than a simple fighting stance that he had learned from the gym in his previous life… He had no idea just how useful it would be when used against this Sutured Monster.
