Chapter 558: Chapter 558: Knowing that Rong Yan is waiting for him outside
The two executives, who had just begun to get along “harmonically,” were suddenly hit by a figurative hurricane, instantly turning pale and breaking into a cold sweat.
“Mr. Li.”
“Mr. Li, I and Mrs. Ai Mi…”
Li Shengxiao ignored the two who were anxiously trying to explain themselves and firmly tapped on the table while speaking indifferently, “Since neither of you approves of the other’s plan, then we don’t need either of them! Next!”
Discarding both plans meant that all the effort they had put in over the past half-month was wasted.
They would have to start all over again.
The reason they were arguing just moments ago was nothing more than wanting to showcase their abilities in front of Li Shengxiao. However, their attempt not only failed to yield any benefits but also managed to upset him.
Glaring at each other, neither dared to act out in front of the man whose mood was clearly not good. Like de-feathered crows, they shrank their necks and silently retreated to their seats.
Thanks to their altercation, the rest of the executives tightened their grip and made sure to present their proposals succinctly and clearly when it was their turn.
The efficiency of the meeting significantly increased, more than doubling.
But even with the meeting’s high efficiency and Li Shengxiao’s swift decision-making, the business district project in Krea was too large, with many intricate issues requiring his final say. Without his orders, no one in the upper echelons of Li Group would dare make decisions on their own.
The meeting lasted even longer than the time he had messaged Rong Yan about, continuing until 8:30 PM.
Once all the executives had dispersed, the man at the head of the table rubbed his swollen temples, stood up from his seat, and hesitated over whether to call Rong Yan and ask if she was still out, wondering if he should go pick her up. Just then, Gu Ming pushed the door open from the outside, “Mr. Li, Miss Rong and the young master are waiting for you outside…”
He didn’t dare to say that Rong Yan had brought Li Duidui to the company around 5 PM and been waiting since then, he merely insinuated that Rong Yan was outside.
Although his head was bowed, Li Shengxiao’s sharp gaze still felt as if it was cutting across him like a knife.
“When did she arrive? Why didn’t you report it to me.”
Gu Ming mentally lamented with his head buried, “Miss Rong has been here for two hours, waiting in the lounge for you. Since she heard you were in a meeting, she didn’t let me disturb you.”
Two hours already…
Li Shengxiao did the math, which meant that she had arrived to wait for him here at 6 PM, or even earlier, and she had been in the same building as him all this time!
His handsome face darkened, thinking about the wasted time in the meeting, and his gaze at Gu Ming turned sharper and more forbidding, “Since when did you start making decisions on your own?”
Thinking back, Gu Ming had hedged his words before the meeting, probably wanting to mention the arrival of that lady. But in the end, he did not inform him, instead making up an excuse about brewing coffee.
Who gave him such audacity!
Gu Ming felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on him, gripping initially to a sliver of hope, which now turned to helplessness and foreboding, “I’m sorry, Mr. Li.”
When one makes a mistake, they’ve made a mistake, and Mr. Li disliked anyone who made excuses for their wrongdoings, a fact of which Gu Ming was acutely aware, so he didn’t try to defend his actions.
Li Shengxiao squinted his eyes and swept them over Gu Ming. It seemed he thought of something, but eventually, he contained the menace in his eyes and coldly threw out a sentence, “If there is a next time, pack your things and go to Ring Island! I don’t want to remind you again.”
Gu Ming thought he was doomed, but he narrowly escaped punishment, breaking out in a cold sweat only after Li had walked far enough away that he dared to lift his head.
