My Dear Mr. Gu - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Nothing Will Happen If You Don’t Do It
Huo Weiwu picked up her phone and gave Yanzi a call.
“When will you be here?” asked Huo Weiwu.
“Sister Huo, I’m on the way. I’ll be there soon. I brought you a change of clothes, but I’ll need you to prepare your own accessories. The people attending the party tonight are all very respectable, so make sure to doll yourself up,” said Yanzi tactfully.
Huo Weiwu knew that Yanzi was trying to tell her to avoid being an embarrassment.
“Let’s talk when you get here,” said Huo Weiwu before hanging up. She opened her jewelry box and set her gaze on the piece called ‘Ocean Dawn’.
It was a gift from her mother, and they were her favorite pair of earrings.
Huo Weiwu put them on.
There was a knock on the door.
She opened it.
Auntie Long was standing outside. With a solemn face, she said, “I’m sorry, Madam, I was too brash just now.”
“Don’t worry, I will not complain to Gu Haoting about this,” said Huo Weiwu coldly.
“Thank you, Madam,” replied Auntie Long with a nod.
Huo Weiwu placed her hand on the cabinet and curled her lips lazily. She asked, “Take a guess—do you think Gu Haoting will be angry if he finds out that I won’t be sleeping at home tonight?”
Auntie Long’s face blanched. “Master is very concerned about Madam’s safety.”
“You have a way to stop him from getting angry and keep him from worrying, right?” said Huo Weiwu, obviously hinting at something.
Auntie Long could read between the lines. Feeling as though she had been put in a difficult position, she said, “If Master finds out that you aren’t sleeping at home tonight and that I didn’t report this to him, my child will become implicated in this matter.”
“God knows, you know, and I know—but he doesn’t. Otherwise, if he finds out about this and gets mad, I will vent my anger on you. Auntie Long, you’re a smart person. You should know whether I’m a demure woman or a despicable one,” said Huo Weiwu as she patted Auntie Long’s shoulder.
The doorbell rang.
Huo Weiwu walked over to the door.
“Sister Huo, this is your gown. We’ll be wearing the same thing. Quickly change into it. I’ll do your makeup for you afterward, and then we can leave,” said Yanzi excitedly.
Huo Weiwu stared coldly at Auntie Long.
Auntie Long thought that this girl was very unique. It was no wonder that Master’s attitude toward her was so different.
She lowered her head and walked to the kitchen.
Huo Weiwu’s lips curled into a smile, feeling good that she had won a small battle. “Come to my room,” she said.
“Sister Huo, I know a secret,” Yanzi said, clearly unable to conceal her happiness.
“The people who are aware of secrets are usually the first to die,” said Huo Weiwu as she removed her clothes and changed into the short white dress that Yanzi handed to her.
“That’s not the case this time. I heard that Yu Yi will be there as well—if Yu Yi falls for me, I just might become the wife of the future president,” said Yanzi as she clasped her palms in sincere prayer.
“The voting system now is democratic now, so forget about the possibility of a second-generation president,” declared Huo Weiwu dismissively as she quickly pulled up her zipper.
“But he has a strategic father and a very strong military background. I heard that he will first serve as a mayor after his graduation—his future has already been laid out for him. If I marry him, and even if he doesn’t become the next president, I’m sure he will still be someone immensely respectable.
“People on the internet treat him as a God and acknowledge him as the second most desirable bachelor in the entire country. In fact, he might even surpass Gu Haoting in the future,” said Yanzi in defense of Yu Yi. She took out some makeup products from her purse.
“If such a God-like person such as him really exists, I think it’d be better for me to board Noah’s ark and sail right out of the universe. Goodbye, God,” Huo Weiwu joked around with her.
Yanzi burst out laughing as well.
After applying their makeup, they left together. Yanzi took the wheel and drove them toward the beach villa.

The Commander’s office.
With a solemn face, Gu Haoting was reading through the document filled with information petitioning for Yu Yi’s impeachment.
There was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” said Gu Haoting in a deep voice.
Lieutenant Shang stood upright and respectfully saluted. He gave Gu Haoting a verbal report, saying, “Sir, we’ve successfully located Yu Yi. He’s presently at a beach villa conducting a private party to choose a mistress.”
“How outrageous!” Gu Haoting shut the document and said disdainfully, “Get the helicopter ready. We’ll make our way there right now. It’s about time he was taught a lesson.”
