My Debauched Devotion - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Wipe Your Drool First, Okay?
Chuyan froze.
Her innocent features reflected shock and humiliation. Her expressive eyes glared at Xiao Ran without a word for a long time, like a flame that had stopped flickering.
Lingzhou Yue was chewing on a tiger leg when her portrait-like face paused in astonishment.
“You just joined the sect two days ago without cultivating and you want to take on a disciple?”
Xiao Ran answered coolly, “There’s a saying in my hometown: Pics or it didn’t happen… Cough, it means that if cultivators don’t have a disciple, they’ll be mocked if people find out.”
Lingzhou Yue smiled.
“You aren’t thinking of taking in this little girl as a disciple, are you?”
Chuyan looked wronged and incredibly resentful but dared not say a word.
“Exactly.”
Xiao Ran chewed the tiger’s liver. The aromatic bitterness was indescribable.
“I know how to farm, build, and cook, but I’m worried there’ll be no heir after I pass. I’m afraid no one will serve Master then, so I’d like to take in a disciple who will inherit the knowledge from me lest Master gets too lonely when I pass.”
A glow flickered to life in her bright eyes before Lingzhou Yue took another gulp of poisoned wine.
“Up to you. Just don’t forget your master when you take in a disciple.”
“Congratulations, you’ve earned 3 Devotion Points!”
Xiao Ran was surprised. He had not expected this sweet talk to reap DP by moving his master. It was evident how important being eloquent was.
“Chuyan, greet your Master and Grandmaster.”
‘Xiao Ran, I’ll kill you!’
Although she was cursing him in her mind, the girl was obedient verbally.
“Master, Grandmaster.”
Not letting go of this opportunity, Xiao Ran patted her small delicate head.
“Good, good, my dear disciple.”
Chuyan sat there obediently but gritted her teeth inwardly.
Xiao Ran looked again at his master, who was drinking without saying anything else. Her voluptuous body, however, looked like it was floating away.
“Master, I think you’ve been poisoned.”
“Have I?”
Lingzhou Yue took a glance at her wine pot in pretense.
“There is too much fake wine nowadays.”
Xiao Ran replied, “It’s a good day today. We should have some drinks to celebrate that Master became Grandmaster.”
Lingzhou Yue shook her head.
“It’s a pity that you guys will die if you drink my wine.”
“Hold on.”
Xiao Ran got up, went to the cellar in the grain field in the south, and retrieved the malt wine that had just been fermented.
He poured it into a wooden bucket and found it to be worth over 50 catties.
This was a spiritual place and a cultivation sect indeed. The brewing speed there was excellent.
Pressing spiritual energy and turning it into juice made the product as cool as ice and gave it a clear faint yellow color. The fragrance was faint, like the vague aroma of grains when the wind blew in the meadow.
Upon returning to the Sword Plain, Xiao Ran placed the bucket on a huge rock and retrieved three big porcelain bowls to fill them up with wine.
As he took in his master, who was dripping DP, and his petite handyman disciple that formed a stable closed cycle of devotion, Xiao Ran was in a good mood.
“This is malt wine that I just fermented. Let’s toast to our master-disciple bond.”
“Malt can make wine too?”
Lingzhou Yue could care less about vows and bonding. Her attention was on the wine.
Her tall, perky little nose was crinkled slightly.
“This is horse pee, isn’t it?”
Xiao Ran smiled without saying anything. Picking up the white porcelain bowl, he took a sip first.
Feeling cool to the throat, the liquid rushed like a waterfall from his head to his toes.
His limbs and bones, as well as his internal organs, were all cleansed, rinsed clean, and dust-free, like a window to heaven that had opened in his body. He felt as light and clear as though he had been enlightened and was now connected to heaven and earth.
All the toxins and excretion present in his body were washed away until they dissolved.
It was an experience totally different from the tiger meat triggering his taste buds and dashing for the wall of the dantian.
He was thoroughly cleansed!
Chuyan took a sip timidly.
As if her entire body was unclogged, her face flushed and her gaze became penetrative. When she looked at Xiao Ran again, her gaze was no longer the same.
A germaphobe like her could not help eating the tiger. She could only sink her teeth into the meat and find her dantian and pool of Qi, which was roused ultimately.
Drinking the malt wine was actually gratifyingly awesome!
“For real?”
Upon watching Xiao Ran and Chuyan’s exaggerated reactions, Lingzhou Yue picked up her bowl a little disdainfully and took a small sip.
In an instant, her sword-like brows softened as though she had seen stars.
Xiao Ran collected his DP quietly.
“Congratulations, you’ve earned 1 Devotion Point!”
She took another sip, then one more, and finally emptied the bowl in the blink of an eye.
“Congratulations, you’ve earned 1 Devotion Point!”
“Congratulations, you’ve earned 1 Devotion Point!”
“…”
Lingzhou Yue felt reinvigorated. Unintentionally, the poisoned wine accumulated in her body was actually cleared! As a wine connoisseur, however, she had high standards and was not as easily impressed.
“Your wine does taste good but it’s too light. It’s not for someone who’s gone through a lot of wine like me.”
Xiao Ran chuckled and said, “Then have more.”
Gulp, gulp, gulp…
“Congratulations, you’ve…”
He had expected this from Lingzhou Yue.
Perhaps Chuyan was delighted about joining the Sword-Wielding Mountain or resentful about having to become Xiao Ran’s disciple, or maybe the malt wine was exquisite, as she could not help guzzling it as well.
Xiao Ran smiled but dared not take another swig.
The wine was too strong! It felt better than heaven!
Furthermore, the after-effect was not a result of the alcohol or spiritual energy. It was a result of the enlightenment of heaven, earth, and life.
Xiao Ran had only taken a sip before he was reminded of everything he had experienced in his past life, including bittersweet, happy, and sad things. All that he had but was now in the past.
Chuyan was the next one to be hit by the effect.
She started reminiscing about her past in the palace and suddenly remembered her mother, who had passed away… Slumping down, she passed out on the Sword Plain.
“This little girl is still too young to drink like an adult… She got drunk after having three bowls of wine.”
As someone who had been drinking frequently, Lingzhou Yue made comments ardently. Hit by vertigo, the vicissitudes of life consumed her before she collapsed on the ground.
Her soft cry and soft plop did not last longer than 10 breaths.
Such potent wine!
Xiao Ran sealed the bucket and placed it in his storage space. That would ensure absolute freshness.
Then, he looked at the ground in front of him.
On one side was his easy-going female master, who was beautiful as a painting and well-proportioned like a divine sculpture. However, her collapsed position was less graceful and more suggestive.
On the other side was his new female errand disciple, who was a short Lolita with an innocent and sweet exterior but a risqué mind. The position she had collapsed in made her look soft and vulnerable, inciting one’s fondness.
In terms of probability, two absolute beauties would hardly ever be around at the same time.
Xiao Ran looked up into the starry sky.
A transmigration traveler was always surrounded by beautiful ladies—this was truly some kind of implicit law!
When he accessed his system interface and took a look at his DP, it had gone up to 50 points although Xiao Ran had respectively bought construction skills, brewing skills, farming skills, and culinary skills.
He had a feeling that as long as he gave his master massages and hot spring baths, fed her vegetables, fruits, some home-cooked meals, grilled seafood, and the likes in the following days… 100 DP and a Qi Refining cultivation base would be right under his nose!
With that thought in mind, Xiao Ran felt pumped. He could not help—
Suddenly, white light flashed before his eyes.
Xiao Ran was then kicked to the ground.
His left wrist was pressed under a knee veiled in semi-see-through white chiffon, while his right wrist was pinned by a small delicate hand, and his stomach was secured by another knee.
A sharp sword rested under his jaw, gleaming icily under a swaying flame.
What a terrible position to be in… No, it was not terrible in the slightest!
Xiao Ran took a careful look. His hands, which could use the resonance force, were both trapped while his abdomen, which needed to be engaged in martial arts, were securely pressed down as well.
This meant that the young girl was not careless at all, even though she was facing just a mortal like him. After experiencing the strength of the resonance force, she had him completely bound.
The girl did not look as naïve and innocent as she was. She was fastidious.
Xiao Ran was feeling fortunate that he had gotten the girl on his side by using his master, or else it would have been tricky if he had met her during the disciple challenge.
Chuyan was a Golden Core cultivator after all. Once she’d fainted, her subconscious had cleared all the remaining alcohol in her dantian. Thus, she had kicked Xiao Ran away with an abrupt flip of her body. She’d then kneeled on him and pinned his evil resonance hands down, unsheathing her sword and using it against him to reclaim her dignity.
By the time the Sword-Wielding Elder woke up, Chuyan was half-kneeling on Xiao Ran and crying softly, “You took advantage of me!”
Even though the sharp sword was under his chin, Xiao Ran remained indifferent. Although he was unable to exert any strength, he actually thought that it felt quite nice to be pinned down.
“Master’s bigger than you everywhere, and I haven’t thought of taking advantage of her. Would I take advantage of a child like you?”
“You…”
Chuyan gritted her teeth.
“I meant that you took advantage of me in terms of seniority!”
Xiao Ran answered with a chuckle, “You’d still have to call me Junior Uncle if you didn’t get into the Sword-Wielding Mountain. Does calling me Master now feel wrong?”
“Yes!”
Chuyan’s face was flushed, and it seemed as though she was going to cry.
“A lady does not stay beneath men!”
‘Is this why you’re on top right now?’
Xiao Ran could only reply, “You don’t have to call me Master all the time. When Master isn’t around, you can call me by my name or anything you like. But if Master’s around, you must address me as Master. There should be a protocol on the Sword-Wielding Mountain.”
Chuyan glared at him.
“And if I don’t agree?”
Xiao Ran pursed his lips. How could it get worse?
“Then I’ll see you in the disciple challenge, and you won’t ever have the chance to get close to Master again like you do today.”
“Okay, I agree.”
It was surprising how easily Chuyan agreed to it.
She knew the pros and cons. She had pulled out her sword only to threaten Xiao Ran lest he bullied her in the future.
“Remember, you mustn’t take advantage of me again!”
Xiao Ran thought, ‘Am I that kind of person?’
Aiming for short-term benefits was not the way to go. The perfect tactic to manipulate a female errand disciple was through a win-win commitment.
“I don’t like harassing people with seniority. You’re my disciple, but what you do and what you say is completely voluntary. This master shall not take advantage of you.”
‘Addressing yourself as a master is still not a way of taking advantage of me?’
Chuyan glowered as she let go of Xiao Ran and put away her sword. She fixed her clothes and threatened him nonchalantly.
“If you dare bully me in the future, touch me when I sleep, or get me pregnant, I’ll castrate you and run back to the palace. Your child will then have to live in a world of discrimination and humiliation for not having a father!”
Xiao Ran choked, rendered unable to say anything for a long time. His jaw dropped too, barely staying attached to his head.
What a girl. She had thought it all out…
After a long time, he calmed his mind and said patronizingly, “This is something between a husband and wife. It’s not what a master and disciple should do.”
Chuyan was still glaring at him.
“Don’t lie!”
Xiao Ran shook his head and turned to his master.
“Master’s too happy being drunk. I don’t think we can wake her up. I’ll carry her to the hot spring to sober her up. Come help.”
Chuyan’s eyes widened as she stopped him.
“It’s improper for men and women to hold each other! I’ll do it!”
“Well then, wipe your drool first, okay?”
This was a good opportunity to show devotion. No way was Xiao Ran giving it to someone else. Without another word, he picked up his master and left.
“Remember this: Being filial and devoted to Master is my responsibility. Your responsibility is to be filial and devoted to me.”
