My Eyes Are Mutated - Chapter 7
Chapter 7: The Circle of Geniuses, Pressure
There were two unfamiliar faces among the last few people in Class 10.
All of them were from the same class, so it was impossible for them not to know each other. The reason why they were relatively unfamiliar was that this was the first time the two of them had appeared in this group.
The ten students of Class 10 looked at Ye Huan and the other young man with judgmental eyes.
“You two, welcome to the circle.”
The young man standing at the front of the group said with a bright smile on his face.
Wu Changqing was the undisputed number one in Class 10. He had always been the first in class and no one could shake his position.
“The two of you, please introduce yourselves.”
“Ding Hai.”
The young man with narrow eyes said eagerly and smiled at Wu Changqing.
Wu Changqing nodded slightly in response. Then, he looked at Ye Huan with a trace of curiosity.
“Ye Huan,”
Ye Huan said calmly.
“Ye Huan, I’ll remember you. Let’s communicate more in the future.”
Wu Changqing said with a smile.
The other young men couldn’t help but take a few more glances at Ye Huan, trying to guess why Wu Changqing was so concerned about Ye Huan.
Although Wu Changqing had an easy-going smile, he was actually quite a conceited person. Ordinary people would not catch his eye.
Seeing this scene, a hint of maliciousness flashed through Ding Hai’s long and narrow eyes.
Ye Huan looked at Ding Hai with a strange expression on his face.
Why was Ding Hai paying special attention to him?
The two of them didn’t know each other.
Ding Hai seemed to know that Ye Huan was looking at him. He smiled at Ye Huan and quickly turned his head away.
The students from the various classes were once again gathered together.
Ye Huan stood behind Chen Tong habitually. However, unlike usual times, people often turned around to look at him with strange expressions, and there were many girls among them.
Ye Huan used to be an invisible person in the class, but he suddenly became one of the few geniuses. It was like a dream, and many people were curious about him.
“Ye Huan, congratulations on joining the circle of geniuses.”
Chen Tong said to Ye Huan excitedly.
While Ye Huan and Chen Tong were talking, Ye Huan felt a mountain-like pressure in his heart.
Ye Huan’s previous experience in the field made it clear to him how difficult it was to get into the top ten of the Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy’s exam.
There were about ten students in each class who had opened 108 acupoints and about a total of hundred people in the entire cohort.
Even if not everyone would apply for Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy, the final number would still be around a hundred.
To stand out from the hundred geniuses and get into the top ten…
Ye Huan had no confidence at all.
Many people had more than 108 acupoints opened.
That was already a huge advantage for them.
However, the Body Cleansing Pill was his only chance to cure his father.
Ye Huan’s eyes were firm. No matter what the result was, he had to try his best.
“The black-scaled demonic pig is a relatively weak race among the demon race. If you can’t even pass this test, you should consider whether you are suitable for the path of martial arts. If you can’t, then give up early. There are many races out there that are stronger and more brutal than the demon race.”
The instructors of each class were saying similar things.
After admonishing the students and informing them to come to the Academy at the end of the month to take part in the Intermediate Marital Arts Academy exam, the instructors dismissed them.
Ye Huan and Chen Tong walked back together.
“Chen Tong, do you know Ding Hai?”
Ye Huan asked as he thought of Ding Hai’s unusual behavior.
“Ding Hai? His father works the same job as my father. He is a head of a small group of city guards. Ding Hai didn’t have so many acupoints opened before, I don’t know what kind of luck he got this time.”
Chen Tong said indignantly.
Although Chen Tong’s reply was said casually, Ye Huan’s heart moved.
“Chen Tong, let’s go to your house. ”
Ye Huan said to Chen Tong. He had something to discuss with Chen Shan.
…
Chen Tong’s house.
Ye Huan and Chen Shan were sitting on the sofa while Chen Tong was busy serving tea.
After he was done, Chen Tong sat aside with a cup of tea. He was curious about what Ye Huan wanted to talk to his father about.
“Ye Huan, I heard from Chen Tong that your Acupoints Refinement Technique has reached perfection.”
Chen Shan took a sip of tea and looked at Ye Huan with admiration.
“Yes, uncle,”
“Chen Tong, look at Ye Huan, and then look at yourself.”
Chen Shan suddenly said to Chen Tong, who was beside him.
Chen Tong had an aggrieved look on his face as he thought silently, “You two can just have your conversation, but why do you have to drag me into this?”
After looking at his son on the sofa and then taking a look at Ye Huan, Chen Shan suddenly felt a little depressed. The tea in his hand suddenly lost its taste.
“Ye Huan, I heard from Chen Tong that you were looking for me?” Chen Shan put the teacup on the table and patted his chest.
“Ye Huan, if there’s anything you need, just tell me. Don’t worry, as long as it’s something I can do, I won’t refuse.”
“Uncle Chen, I’m relieved to hear that.”
Ye Huan smiled like a cheerful and energetic teenager.
“Uncle Chen, I want to go outside the city.”
Ye Huan said softly.
The smile on Chen Shan’s face disappeared, and the hand that was patting his chest stopped.
Chen Shan looked at Ye Huan sternly. After confirming that Ye Huan was not joking, Chen Shan wanted to give himself a few tight slaps.
Why did he make a promise so early? It would be hard for him to go against what he had promised now.
“Ye Huan, do you know what you’re saying?”
Chen Shan said to Ye Huan in a serious tone.
“Uncle Chen, I know. Today, the Academy’s instructors let us see the demonic beasts. From there, I know my weakness, and I would like to see what a real demonic beast is like.”
Ye Huan looked at Chen Shan and said seriously.
Chen Shan looked at Ye Huan. At this moment, in Chen Shan’s eyes, Ye Huan was no longer a teenager, but an adult with deep foresight.
Ye Huan knew exactly what he wanted and his decision of wanting to go out of the city wasn’t made on a whim. Ye Huan must have been waiting for an opportunity to speak with his Uncle Chen earlier.
Ye Huan was afraid that Chen Shan would not agree to it if he rashly brought the matter up, hence he decided that he would only say that he wanted to go outside the city after Chen Shan made the promise.
This scheme was quite clever.
“Ye Huan, it’s very dangerous outside the city, and the city guards are also part of the army. We must follow the orders, and if there’s any danger, I might not be able to save you.”
Chen Shan’s expression was serious, and his voice turned cold.
“Think carefully about whether you still want to go outside the city.”
“Uncle Chen, there’s no need. I’ve already thought it through.”
Ye Huan’s tone was firm without any hesitation.
“Ye Huan, I can promise you that you can leave the city as a temporary member of the team tomorrow. However, you must listen to all orders, or you will be punished by military law.”
Chen Shan’s tone became colder and harsher. In the end, there was even a hint of killing intent.
“Yes, Captain Chen,”
Ye Huan stood up and gave a military salute. It was a decisive and straightforward salute.
Chen Shan looked at Ye Huan, who was sitting opposite him, with admiration. Ye Shoucheng had a good son.
Suddenly, he felt a little stifled. Why wasn’t Ye Huan his son?
“We’ll leave at seven in the morning tomorrow. ”
“Thank you, Uncle Chen. I’m sorry for what happened before.”
After apologizing to Chen Shan sincerely, Ye Huan left the Chen family house.
Ye Huan knew well in his heart that Chen Shan had agreed to his request mostly because of his father.
Chen Shan looked at Ye Huan’s back, and his expression changed. Finally, he let out a faint sigh as he thought, “Ye Huan, this is all I can do to help you.”
“Dad, why did Ye Huan apologize to you?”
Looking at the bewildered expression on his son’s face, Chen Tong suddenly recalled a saying.
Comparisons are odious as people should be judged on their own merits.
