My Eyes Are Mutated - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: Outside the City
He had perfected the Acupoints Refinement Technique and opened 108 acupoints.
Ye Huan entered the circle of geniuses in the Martial Arts Academy for the first time, and he felt the gap between him and those geniuses.
He might not have an advantage in cultivation base, but he might have a slight advantage in Martial Arts techniques.
For him to get into the top ten of Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy’s exam, he would need to go against those geniuses, and to do so, he could only start by working on his actual combat.
In terms of actual combat, Ye Huan could only think of the city guards.
…
Hanyun Gardens.
This was a famous community area in Donghan city with a large green area.
In one of the buildings, Ding Hai and a middle-aged man were sitting in the living room.
“Dad, the Ye Huan you asked me to keep an eye on has opened 108 acupoints.”
Ding Wuheng’s face flashed with surprise.
“Do you have the confidence to get into Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy?”
Ding Wuheng didn’t mention Ye Huan. Instead, he asked about the Intermediate Martial Arts Academy examination.
“I’m confident. It’s all thanks to father’s Enlightenment pill. ”
Ding Hai said excitedly. Earlier in the field, he did not reveal his full strength.
He had already opened 120 acupoints in his family’s Fire cloud technique.
“If Ye Huan is lucky enough to get into Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy, suppress him ruthlessly.”
Ding Wuheng said casually. Whether Ye Huan could get into Hanwu Intermediate Martial Arts Academy was another matter.
Ding Hai looked at his father in confusion. He didn’t understand why his father was targeting that poor boy, Ye Huan.
However, Ding Wuheng had no intention of explaining to Ding Hai.
He couldn’t possibly tell Ding Hai that he was the one who snatched the Enlightenment pill from Ye Huan’s father.
Ding Wuheng could afford the Enlightenment pill, but since there was a free one, why spend money? It was five thousand silver coins.
Ye Shoucheng didn’t have any background, so he wouldn’t dare to say anything even when he was robbed.
…
In the Western District, Ye Huan walked through the messy streets and returned to his old and shabby courtyard house.
As soon as Ye Huan entered the courtyard, he smelled the aroma of food.
Ye Huan ran to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Ye Shoucheng was stir-frying in the pot with one hand and the other holding a walking stick.
Ye Huan was stunned. He thought that his mother had returned home to cook, but it was his father.
“Dad!”
Ye Huan shouted and ran over to take the spatula from Ye Shoucheng’s hand. He then started to stir-fry.
The dishes were served.
“Ye Huan, you must be hungry. Let’s eat.”
Ye Shoucheng said to ye Huan.
“Dad, aren’t you going to wait for mom?”
“Your mother will be home late. Ye Huan, you can eat first. I’ll wait for your mother.”
Ye Shoucheng said naturally.
“Dad, let’s wait for mom to come back and eat together.”
Ye Shoucheng looked at Ye Huan and finally nodded silently.
Ye Huan took the dishes back to the kitchen.
…
Night fell.
Liu Yun felt uneasy as she walked on the dark and dirty streets.
After turning a corner and looking at the lights in front of her, Liu Yun’s heart calmed down, and a smile appeared on her tired face.
At home.
Liu Yun saw the father and son sitting together under the light as soon as she pushed the door open. The table was filled with steaming hot food.
Liu Yun’s eyes instantly turned moist.
“Liu Yun, Ye Huan insisted on waiting for you to have dinner together.”
Ye Shoucheng said to Liu Yun, who had just entered the house.
“Yes, I’m back. Let’s eat.”
Liu Yun smiled and sat down beside Ye Shoucheng.
Looking at his parents sitting together, Ye Huan felt very warm. It was his good fortune to have such parents in this life.
These days, he had been busy cultivating and had neglected some things. There were some things that he should tell them.
“Mom, Dad, I have good news for you.”
Ye Huan activated the Acupoints Refinement Technique, and all the acupoints on his body lit up. There were a total of 108 acupoints.
Under the night sky, the 108 acupoints were as dazzling as the stars in the night sky.
“Ye Huan, you have perfected your Acupoints Refinement Technique?”
Ye Shoucheng’s voice trembled as he looked at Ye Huan in disbelief.
“Yes, I have perfected it.”
Ye Huan nodded heavily.
Liu Yun’s eyes were filled with tears. All of a sudden, she felt that her hard work for the past few days had been worth it.
Their son was promising.
Under the dim yellow light, the family of three had dinner, and laughter rang out from time to time.
…
The next morning.
Ye Huan had already arrived at the meeting place with Chen Shan.
Ye Huan thought that he had come early enough, but Chen Shan was even earlier than him.
“You’re quite early. Wait a minute, they should be here soon. ”
Chen Shan had a standard long blade at his waist, and his body had an additional murderous aura.
Not long after, a group of middle-aged men wearing the city guard uniform with a long blade at their waist arrived. There were nine of them in total.
Those people were surprised to see Ye Huan, and some of them even frowned.
“Chen Shan, what’s going on?”
The vice-captain of the team, Yuan Min, pulled Chen Shan aside and asked while looking at Ye Huan.
“You know him. He’s Ye Shoucheng’s son. I want to take him out of the city.”
Chen Shan pointed at Ye Huan.
“What!”
Yuan Min called out, but when he saw the others looking over, he lowered his voice again.
“Chen Shan, you’re crazy. You’re bringing a student from the Elementary Martial Arts Academy out of the city. This will get us killed. I will never agree to this.”
Yuan Min was very determined.
“I’ve told him about the dangers. He promised to follow my orders and stay behind. If he disobeys my orders and is in danger, there’s no need to save him.”
Chen Shan looked at Yuan Min and said.
“Do as you wish. Old Ye only has one son.”
Chen Shan smiled. Yuan Min had agreed.
“Ye Huan, come here.”
Chen Shan beckoned to Ye Huan.
“This is Yuan Min, and this is …”
When Ye Huan came over, Chen Shan introduced them to him one by one.
“Hello, uncles.”
Ye Huan greeted them respectfully in which the city guards just nodded slightly. No one said anything to Ye Huan.
“Since everyone is here, let’s go.”
Chen Shan said and walked towards the city gate. Ye Huan quickly followed.
…
After they left the city gate, Ye Huan was stunned.
Ye Huan initially thought that it would be desolate outside the city, but it turned out to be fields of crops.
“Are you surprised? The area around Donghan city has been turned into farmland since other places can’t grow crops. Although we say that we are protecting the city, we are actually protecting the crops.”
Looking at Ye Huan’s face, a short, fat, and honest middle-aged man in the team said to Ye Huan.
“Thank you, Uncle Liu.”
Ye Huan thanked him politely.
The group walked along the road in the field for a few miles and Ye Huan found that the road ahead had become barren.
Rows of thick and sharp wooden fences surrounded the farmland. Outside the fences was the wilderness, and further away were wild grass and lush shrubs.
Chen Shan led the team to change shift with the previous team. After the handover, Chen Shan came back and said to Ye Huan seriously.
“We’ll be patrolling outside. You’ll stay inside the fence. If there’s any danger, run towards the city. Don’t cross the fence. Otherwise, no one will save you if you run into any danger.”
“I understand, Uncle Chen.”
Ye Huan said seriously. They were outside the city, not in the city, and danger could happen at any time.
Chen Shan held the hilt of his blade and vigilantly walked outside the fence. He started to patrol with the team.
The day passed by quickly, and there was no danger.
As night fell, the lights on the fence lit up, making the wilderness in front of the fence as bright as day.
In the middle of the night, Ye Huan suddenly woke up and looked out of the fence, only to see blood-red eyes. He was instantly scared and broke out in a cold sweat, losing all his sleepiness.
