My Family Mansion Has Mutated - Chapter 21
Chapter 21 Blood Bead?
The system clearly knew a lot of things. Despite that, it did not say much. Their topic reverted back to the treasure.
“Becoming a Spiritual Martial Artist is just the beginning?”
Qin Feng wanted to refute the system, but he had no proof. Thus, arguing was meaningless. He could only mutter to himself and let it go.
Anyway, he kept following the system’s instructions. Apparently, they were heading to a treasure trove.
“We’re getting really close!” said the system.
About half an hour had passed. Qin Feng arrived at an isolated place. He looked around, but nothing caught his eye. Just as he was about to say something, the system spoke again, “Walk ten meters in the southwest direction.”
Qin Feng obediently did as he was told.
“Right here, under your feet!”
Upon hearing that, Qin Feng instantly scanned the place vigilantly. After ensuring there were no dangers in the surroundings, he began digging the ground using his bare hand.
Qin Feng was not an official martial artist yet, but he had extraordinary strength and endurance. Even by just using his bare hands, he was digging faster than multiple burly men with spades. In less than five minutes, he found a small box in the soil.
Suddenly, the system said urgently, “Take that box and run!”
“What?”
Qin Feng did not understand, but he did as he was told.
“Run!”
The system shouted again. Then, it somehow made the iron box in Qin Feng’s hand disappear. Qin Feng had never seen the system being so nervous. Nonetheless, he did not waste any time and used Explosive Steps. In a blink of an eye, he had already traveled a distance of ten meters.
Qin Feng used this technique repeatedly until his energy was exhausted. Then, he resorted to just running as quickly as possible. After running for more than an hour, he finally reached his old house.
Meanwhile, Fire Ghost and a few experts appeared at the spot where Qin Feng found the box.
“The item has been stolen and I can’t sense the thief’s aura. There aren’t any footprints in the surrounding area either. That person must be at least a high-level Great Grandmaster.”
Fire Ghost looked at the small hole with a solemn expression. The woman beside him analyzed the situation. Then, she said, “Go and investigate the whereabouts of all Great Grandmasters in Jiangnan Province immediately.”
The thief was able to escape right under their nose. No ordinary person could do that. Therefore, Fire Ghost agreed with his companion’s words and approved her order.
Qin Feng had just narrowly escaped a calamity. Luckily, he was not even an official martial artist. No one would believe it was him.
…
At the old mansion, Qin Feng collapsed on the bed and panted heavily. After a short rest, he asked, “What’s in the box?”
The system did not answer his question. Instead, it pulled out an inventory panel. In the first slot, there was a bewitching-looking bead. The bead was surrounded by traces of Qi and blood, giving off a menacing aura.
“This bead is called Blood Bead. It may be small, but it contains the condensed life essences of countless experts. There are also blood essences of powerful beasts!”
“Powerful beasts? Blood Bead? The souls of experts?”
After hearing the system’s explanation, Qin Feng frowned. He could barely understand anything
This world was not peaceful at all. Away from civilization, there were heaps of fierce beasts. These beasts came in different shapes and sizes. There were birds with blades all over their bodies, tortoises as big as mountains, black wolves, and so on. In short, they were strong. An ordinary person stood no chance against them. Even martial artists would flee. Only those who were truly powerful stood a chance.
Naturally, Qin Feng was puzzled. The system’s explanation was not enough. However, Qin Feng did not probe further. He knew the system’s words from earlier were accurate. At the moment, he won’t understand these things yet. More knowledge equals more danger. After all, a force was already suppressing information pertaining to martial arts. Besides, Qin Feng did not want to attract any attention to himself.
“What is this?”
Qin Feng’s gaze had landed on another item in his inventory.
“It’s probably the box owner’s diary.”
The system did not really care about the second item. All that mattered was the blood bead.
“A diary?”
Qin Feng could not help but mutter. He stared at the book for a bit and it appeared in front of him. Without any hesitation, he began to flip through the pages.
“1.1. Nothing today.”
“1.2. Nothing today.”
“1.3. Nothing today.”
“1.4. Nothing today.”
