Chapter 26: Green Hats on the Head and Watermelons in Hand
This season of Adventures in the Wild was to be filmed in a small mountain village in Chuan City.
By the time Qin Nuan and Li Jing took a plane to Chuan City, it was evening, and a car from the TV crew was already waiting for them in the carpark when they walked out of the airport.
They got into the car, and the TV crew representative was very polite to them as she gave them a drink each. “Miss Qin, we still have to wait for another guest to arrive. He took an earlier flight than you did, but he’s stuck in a group of fans right now, so we still have to wait for a while more. Please take a rest in the car first.”
“Sure.”
Qin Nuan took the drink politely from the staff and leaned against the car’s back seat as she rubbed her temples. It was impossible to sleep well in an economy class seat, and this body of hers couldn’t really take the eight-hour flight she just took.
Just then, her phone beeped. It was a message from Tan Xue.
Tan Xue had sent a photo of a memo. Information on all the program’s regular guests was written in this memo and given in great detail. Most importantly, each guest had one sentence to round up everything.
Su Wanyu debuted in Hong Kong and won Best Actress at the White Jade Orchid Awards. She had acted in many popular TV dramas broadcast in the 90s. She had retired temporarily from the entertainment circle because she got married and gave birth and was making a comeback this year. She was a woman who was very particular about her standards of living.
Zhou Qingshu was a veteran actor. He had acted in a lot of unforgettable villain roles. He was an older man with a slightly stubborn streak.
Shen Chang’an was one of the top models under Angel Models and commanded a lot of presence on stage. Her personality was aloof, and apparently, she was an icy beauty who said very little.
Gu Zhengxi was a celebrity who debuted after becoming the winner in a talent search competition the year before. He had a lot of fans, and many people knew him from the competition. He had a bright personality and was quite a goofy fellow who liked to talk a lot.
Hao Bai was a famous TV personality who joined many variety programs. He had been a regular guest on Adventures in the Wild for the past two seasons. His EQ was high, and he was a wily old fox who was very good at being a mediator.
Qin Nuan looked at all these simple pieces of information that really captured each person’s essence and replied to her: Sister Tan, I didn’t think you were this sort. sillysmile.jpg
Tan Xue was probably busy, so she just replied: Get along well with them. If anything happens, I’ve got your back.
Qin Nuan replied: Got it! *salutes* imagoodgirl.jpg
Immediately after she sent the last message, a terrible commotion suddenly filled the carpark, and it was quite the ruckus.
Qin Nuan lifted her head to look out, only to see that the previously dark carpark now had a green glow to it.
A huge crowd of people was basking in the green glow. All the girls wore green hats on their heads and carried watermelons in their hands as they surrounded a young man trapped in the middle. They shouted with all their might, “HUBBY! LOOK HERE! LOOK THIS WAY!”
“My brother! You must take good care of yourself!”
“My little Xixi! We’ll wait for you to come back!”
It had been a long time since Qin Nuan last saw such interesting fans. She leaned against the window of the car and looked on with interest.
Just then, the young man in the crowd seemed to have noticed where the TV crew’s car was parked. He immediately dashed out from the crowd and made a sprint towards the car.
Qin Nuan reacted very quickly. She pulled the car door open and yelled at the driver, “Mister! Start the car!”
The young man practically flew over and jumped into the car just as the driver started up the engine. Qin Nuan slammed the car door shut with a loud bam and cut off all the noise outside. She glanced at the fans who had come running over in the rear mirror and breathed a sigh of relief.
The young man turned to snap at Qin Nuan. “Thanks, bro! Our minds are really well connected…”
He was surprised to find that the other person in the car was a pretty young lady instead. The young man smiled sheepishly and quickly changed his terms of address. “Thanks, little sister!”
Qin Nuan twitched her lips violently.
You’re just a little kid! Who’s your little sister?!
But she still smiled faintly and gave him a thumbs up. “Gu Zhengxi, your fans are an exceptional bunch!”
This was really the first time she had seen fans carry green placards, wear green hats and carry watermelon props to support their favorite artiste. It was really…green! She really wanted to know how Gu Zhengxi’s fans could wave their watermelons without feeling embarrassed or dumb.
“They really are! I was the one who thought of this!” The young man looked so proud of himself.
