Chapter 149.2 – Extra Chapter 8
With a veiled hat covering her, people outside the mansion wouldn’t be able to see through Lu Qipei’s identity. But there were more than a hundred of servants in the princess’s mansion, so how could they not know who was following their master? If Zhi Ting was ruled out and bold guesses were made, then Lu Qipei’s identity could not be concealed at all!
Right now, it was unknown if there were any people secretly planted by the Little Emperor in Yongzhou’s princess’s mansion. Qi Yang and Lu Qipei didn’t intend to investigate it deeper or make a move, so they could only be more careful with their actions. The main entrance was guarded by a gatekeeper, so of course they couldn’t leave through there. When the road was clear, the two of them turned around to a relatively remote corner door to leave the mansion.
Everything in the newly built princess’s mansion was new, including the inconspicuous corner door. So when they pushed it open, there was almost no sound, not even that of the door turning, and they did not alert anyone.
Well, to be precise, it didn’t alert anyone in the princess’s mansion – the two of them closed the corner door and were about to leave quietly, but when they turned around they saw a young man staring blankly behind them.
Well, this was their own mansion, and the door to enter and exit their own house – it wasn’t anyone else’s business. But Lu Qipei wanted to avoid trouble and hide her identity, so she was sneaking around as she followed Qi Yang … Since Her Royal Highness found the experience quite fresh, she also played along with Lu Qipei’s “mischief”. But now they were caught sneaking by someone, and the freshness was gone, and only the embarrassment remained.
Qi Yang’s body visibly stiffened for a moment, and the expression on her face also became unnatural. Fortunately, Lu Qipei still had a veiled hat to cover her up, so she ignored the young man and strode away with Qi Yang.
At this moment, a wind passed by, blowing away the veil a little bit.
With a startled glance, the young man’s eyes widened suddenly, as if he had seen something unbelievable – he was stunned, and his mind went blank. When he looked back and tried to catch up, the two’s backs had already disappeared.
Qi Yang and Lu Qipei were unaware that they had been recognized as soon as they left the mansion. After that awkward moment passed, Qi Yang quickly became lively again. She took Lu Qipei’s hand, held her arm, and occasionally leaned over to the edge of the veiled hat to say something, getting close to her lover recklessly. Others wouldn’t care if they saw them, and at most they would take another look at the hat.
Qi Yang finally walked together with her Prince Consort dressed in women’s clothing in broad daylight!
She couldn’t say what kind of feeling she was having, whether it was refreshing, satisfying or moving, but ultimately it didn’t feel bad.
Plus, Her Royal Highness The Princess herself didn’t get along too well with her sisters. She rarely went out of the palace when she was younger, and she almost had no experience of going shopping with women the same age as her. Right now, walking down the street while holding her Prince Consort’s arm affectionately was giving her a unique feeling.
Speaking of which, it’s not like Lu Qipei herself preferred women’s clothing. What she had been wearing was the result of circumstances and lack of choice. Now that she had switched back to wearing women’s clothing and was facing the world as a woman again, even if it was just for a day, her heart was still filled with emotions.
Walking in Yongzhou’s city unfamiliar street market, the two of them felt the same joy.
In one afternoon, the two of them through more than half of Yongzhou city, checking out the local customs and occasionally stepping inside the shops on the street to take a look. There was not much to say about the rest, but Qi Yang really liked a rouge shop. It was an old, well-known brand, and it also had branches in the capital. Each shop was tailored to the local conditions, and they rouge they produced also varied to an extent.
Women liked to be pretty, and as a princess, Qi Yang had her pick of the best local specialties, but it did not mean that she wasn’t interested in them in private. Especially now that she had taken off the burden of her family and the country, she could spend the rest of her life eating, drinking, and having fun dressing herself up. She had no worries.
Pulling her Prince Consort to the rouge shop, Qi Yang only picked one box for herself, while the rest were mostly picked for Lu Qipei.
Her veil was lifted, and the woman’s beautiful face was revealed. Her Royal Highness The Princess held several boxes of rouge that looked good and tried them on her one by one. Unfortunately, the rouges she fancied all looked vulgar and gaudy once applied to her beloved face, always unsatisfactory.
Qi Yang wandered for a while and realized that her Prince Consort was too beautiful already and didn’t need these additions.
However, it was still disappointing to end up with nothing after choosing for a long time.
Lu Qipei saw it and whispered in her ear, “I can make rouge too. If Your Highness can’t find any that you like here, I’ll make one for you myself after we go back. I will definitely satisfy you.”
Upon hearing this, a smile flashed in Qi Yang’s eyes and she tilted her head to look at Lu Qipei. “I heard it’s very troublesome to make rouge, are you sure you want to do it with me.”
Lu Qipei saw the smile in her eyes and smiled along with her, saying simply, “Of course.”
So, Her Royal Highness The Princess was naturally waiting for her Prince Consort’s gift, and no longer cared about the rouge on her hand. Just as she was about to leave, she glanced sideways at the veil that was being lowered again, still thinking about what color would suit Lu Qipei.
The two of them wandered around the whole afternoon, and it was almost sunset when they returned.
Lu Qipei didn’t want to cause any trouble, so they naturally walked through the remote corner door when they returned to their mansion. But this time, they were a bit unlucky and bumped into someone after they entered the house – after dinner, Lu Sheng usually walked her rabbit around. The fat rabbit was jumping around the new house, and somehow ran towards the corner door. So as soon as Qi Yang and Lu Qipei entered, they were caught by Lu Sheng who was chasing the rabbit.
The child was not tall. When she got closer and looked up, the veiled hat was basically useless. So Lu Sheng raised her head and saw that the slender person in plain white dress was her uncle!
Lu Sheng blinked, and her eyes were filled with confusion about gender identities.
Author notes:
Lu Sheng (confused): My uncle is wearing women’s clothing!?
Little Emperor (trembling): My uncle turned out to be a crossdresser!!!
