Chapter 17: The Young Lord Is Quite Nice When He Is Not Mad

Luo Hong felt great after he worked out his plan, but he did not leave the city for the bandits right away since he had to pay Jia Sidao a visit first.
He was now an antagonist who would seek revenge for the slightest grievance. Because Jia Sidao had ruined his plan, he ought to shave every inch of wool from this little ‘sheep’ to compensate for his Sin Level.
At the thought of that, Luo Hong put on his white robe and walked out of the study.
Zhao Donghan was standing on guard outside the study when Luo Hong came out.
“Zhao, follow me out. Oh, and call Little Douhua over,” Luo Hong instructed when he saw his guard.
Zhao Donghan nodded and then left in a hurry. A while later, Little Douhua a.k.a. Yao Jing came along in her yellow dress.
“M-my lord…” She lowered her head and averted Luo Hong’s gaze, afraid that the young lord would shout at her or scold her again.
“You should know where that b*stard Jia Sidao lives right? I heard he was your neighbour,” said Luo Hong.
Little Douhua nodded but she found it strange. Why would Luo Hong want to know where Jia Sidao lives?
“Let’s go, bring me there.” Luo Hong’s eyes gleamed and he pushed Little Douhua forward.
“My lord… please don’t push me,” said Little Douhua timidly. She staggered forward and flushed.
Luo Hong got even more violent in pushing her after hearing what she said.
Zhao Donghan was speechless at the act, he simply followed the young lord quietly.
At the lotus pond in the backyard, Butler Chen was feeding the carps with crushed rice crackers.
He noticed the little commotion and saw Luo Hong pushing Little Douhua excitedly. He shook his head with a smile and continued feeding the carps.
‘Young people… they are so lively in the morning.’
Luo Hong brought Zhao Donghan and Little Douhua out of the Luo Residence.
With Little Douhua leading the way, they headed towards the northeast district of Anping County. After shuttling through several alleys, they finally arrived at Little Douhua’s old place.
With Luo Hong pushing her, Little Douhua shuffled quickly, and due to the slightly warmer weather, and her forehead was covered in sweat. Her fair white skin flushed after some intense exercise.
“M-my lord, this is the place.” Little Douhua pointed at the shut door of a courtyard while breathing heavily.
Luo Hong raised his brows and crossed his arms like how an antagonist should act. Then, he glanced at Zhao Donghan and signed at him by tilting his chin.
“Zhao, kick it down.”
Without any hesitation, Zhao Donghan lifted his leg and kicked the shut door.
Bang!
With the Eighth Rank Steel Bone, Zhao Donghan was quite strong. A single kick from him smashed the door into pieces.
In fact, Luo Hong was quite frightened by the scene. He could not help but wonder if he would die if the kick landed on him.
Passersby heard the loud bang and gathered around. They looked at the smashed door curiously and wondered what could have happened.
Luo Hong did not mind the gathering crowd. He shook his hand to fan the dust away before he strode into Jia Sidao’s courtyard. However, after searching around, he did not find Jia Sidao anywhere.
“Jia Sidao was arrested by the constables last night, and he was crying like a pig being slaughtered. I supposed he’s too scared to come back,” an old man in the crowd said.
The crowd started to talk about Jia Sidao, and it got a little noisy.
“Jia Sidao is really a b*stard. He borrowed a bag of rice from my house and hasn’t even returned it.”
“Only a bag? He almost took my entire rice bucket!”
“He even took my chicken. He said he has to eat better because the autumn examinations are around the corner. That piece of sh*t!”
A tiny pebble caused a thousand ripples on the quiet lake. The crowd started to voice their complaints about Jia Sidao.
Zhao Donghan stood in front of the broken door and looked at the crowd with delight on his face. “My good folks, don’t worry. That b*stard, Jia Sidao, accused my young lord of a crime that he did not commit, and he’s already been arrested. My young lord has taken care of this b*stard for the sake of everyone.”
Little Douhua was delighted when she heard that Jia Sidao was arrested. She blushed in excitement and started to preach Luo Hong’s kindness to the crowd.
“Great! Nicely done!”
“It was Young Lord ‘Long Hoe?!’ I knew it! The young lord from the Luo Residence is the savior of this district!”
“He’s a great man! Young Lord Luo is known for his kindness and humble character. He is justice himself!”
The crowd cheered loudly.
Zhao Donghan got carried away as he continued to preach. He got so excited that the scar on his face almost came alive. He added even more details to elevate Luo Hong and how he had saved Little Douhua from being harassed by Jia Sidao. The cheers from the crowd were ceaseless as he continued.
Inside Jia Sidao’s house, Luo Hong found no one except for an invitation on the table.
“20th June, Qinghua Literature Gathering? Is there such a gathering in Anping County? Why haven’t I heard about it before?”
He had heard of a literature gathering which was where a bunch of scholars got together to talk nonsense.
“A literature gathering…” Luo Hong held the invitation in his hand as his mind was forming a new evil plan to increase his Sin Level.
“I’ll go and ruin the gathering…” Luo Hong squinted his eyes. Although he was not invited, he decided to ruin it. It was the standard act of an antagonist, and he believed he would certainly get a ton of Sin Level from it!
With that in mind, Luo Hong kept the invitation card in his sleeve. He might not find Jia Sidao in the house, but the invitation card might be the one thing that he could use to squeeze every bit of value out of the b*stard scholar.
After he came out from the courtyard, Luo Hong heard Zhao Donghan preaching about his ‘good deeds’ in front of the crowd as if he was a passionate storyteller.
The crowd saw Luo Hong and it fueled their excitement even more, so the cheers and applause got louder.
“The young lord is here! Thank you, Young Lord Luo, for removing this pest from our district!”
“Yeah! As expected of the representative of justice of our district!”
…
Luo Hong was stunned as the crowd praised him one after another. He felt like the sky was rumbling and that a bolt of lightning would strike him at any moment.
‘What the heck?! I’m trespassing on someone’s property. How did it turn out like this? I’m not helping anyone?! Don’t try to accuse me of something I didn’t do!’
Zhao Donghan looked like he was over the moon. He believed that he should tell the world about the good deeds his young lord had done.
Little Douhua was also affected by the atmosphere. Her face blushed and she clenched her fists. ‘The young lord is quite nice when he’s not mad!’
Luo Hong felt terrible as the praise drowned him. He glared at Zhao Donghan. ‘You and your sh*tty imagination! Why don’t you go write a novel instead?!’
He did not linger for long. He then brought Zhao Donghan and Little Douhua away.
Based on his young lord’s reaction, Zhao Donghan had a feeling that he had done something wrong again. He thought about it and realized what he could have done wrong.
‘The young lord prefers to keep a low profile. He didn’t perform the good deeds for fame or name. He wouldn’t be over the top about the things that he’s done. He never really advertises his righteous acts! I’m really stupid! Compared to the young lord, I’m still too inferior!’
Zhao Donghan immediately regretted what he did. He sighed as he looked at Luo Hong, who looked grumpy and moody as he walked back to the Luo Residence.
Little Douhua dared not say anything. She meekly followed behind Luo Hong with her head down.
“My lord, I understand it now. It was my mistake,” Zhao Donghan apologized to break the ice.
Luo Hong stopped walking all of a sudden. Little Douhua was mincing behind him with her head down. She tried her best to keep up with his pace, hence she was not able to stop in time and bumped into his back. The little impact made her head a little dizzy.
Luo Hong looked at Little Douhua, scaring the dizziness away from her.
However, he did not talk to her. Instead, he looked at Zhao Donghan. He was rendered speechless by Zhao Donghan’s apology. ‘What the heck did you understand again?’
Luo Hong crossed his arms while his handsome face looked as cold as ice.
Zhao Donghan looked down out of guilt while Little Douhua sealed her lips and kept quiet.
A long while later, Luo Hong said, “Zhao, since you say you know what you did wrong, I’ll have you do something for me to make up for the mistake.”
“As long as you can forgive me, I’ll swim the deepest sea and climb the highest mountain for you!” Zhao Donghan confidently tapped his chest.
Luo Hong wrung his hands. “I don’t need you to do that. There’s a group of bandits roaming outside Anping County. I want you to find out where they are staying.”
‘Huh?’ Zhao Donghan looked up at Luo Hong in shock after he heard what his young lord said.
