Chapter 631: Chapter 289: Across Thousands of Miles, Dark Angel
While Jack Clark was on a killing spree, others were also busy continuing their exploration of the Oasis and delving deeper into the ruins to slay polluted monsters and search for relics.
A desolate Earth roared with thunder, bursting forth dazzling rays of radiance.
Surrounded by Damon Lopes were countless Purple Thunder Dragons that weaved through the air, forming a lightning domain spanning twenty meters, obliterating any Level 6 Void Creatures that came close and forcing back the Level 7 ones.
After those several-meter-long Purple Thunder Dragons exploded, they would transform into streaks of electricity and rejoin the lightning domain, reducing consumption.
Under the continuous bombardment of the Thunder Dragons, three Void Creatures adorned in battle armor and towering at a height of four meters, wielding war spears, were soon blasted into charred pieces.
Glancing at the scattered corpses of the monsters, Damon Lopes’s body gradually toned down the lightning and took out the Lightning Compass once again.
This place used to be a thriving ancient city, with neatly extending foundations of buildings spanning several kilometers, but now only ruins with broken walls and remnants remained.
“So far, I’ve delved over five hundred kilometers in this direction. According to that mountain with the singular peak in the distance, this should be Cover City.”
“According to the ancient texts, the Lord of Thunder’s residence was near Cover City.”
“As a strong man who surpassed the Heavenly King level and had touched upon the Rule, the terrifying force invoked during cultivation by the Lightning Law could destroy everything in the surroundings.”
“But surely, as a dwelling of such a strong man, it would be extremely solid and protected by special defense prohibitions, and under these circumstances, the unleashed thunder would form Law Fragments.”
“It’s just unknown whether the Thunder Law power that merged into the Cultivation Room’s structure has dissipated over the years, or if the Law’s residence has already vanished.”
Holding the compass in hand, Damon Lopes started to search around the city ruins and the surrounding barren hills.
Meanwhile, at another section of the ruins, Gabriella was maneuvering a Mecha across the land, with the double shoulder-mounted Energy Beams firing occasionally, blasting away a dozen or so Void Creatures in the vicinity.
The Late Level 6 Void Creatures moved rapidly, their explosive bursts nearly reaching Supersonic Speed, turning into shadows hopping around.
The Mecha, however, equipped with a Supercomputer-assisted firepower system and terrifying computational ability, locked onto each creature, with the Laser Cannon trailing behind and continuously bombarding them.
Wherever it went, the Earth exploded, stones flew all around, and soon, one after another, the Void Creatures were blasted to death, leaving behind several fire pits more than ten meters across.
For a Mech Martial Practitioner, as long as the power reactor’s energy was sufficient and there was enough ammunition, one could dominate a small-scale war all alone.
Roar!
At that moment, the distant Earth crumbled, surrounded by rampant Black-purple Fog, as a Pollution Beast, forty meters in length, emerged and let out a brutal roar.
Boom!
The air exploded with a roar, creating a billowing wave. The Pollution Beast, resembling a fusion of tiger and lion, covered in grey scale armor, with its body full of bone spurs, crossed hundreds of meters in an instant and appeared to the left of the Mecha.
In the moment the Pollution Beast appeared, a gargantuan sword over forty meters long and several meters wide in the Mecha’s hand, whose tip resembled the head of an axe, swept sideways. Its blade, pulsating with light, clashed against the double claws of the Pollution Beast.
Boom!
The mighty and horrifying strength of the Pollution Beast’s double claws caused the Earth to shatter for tens of meters around the Black and White Mecha, creating a powerful impact.
At the same time, the Pollution Beast was sent flying by the sword, its claws’ scales shattered and a stench of blood flowing.
Whistle Whistle Whistle!!
From the launch ports on both shoulders of the Mecha, dozens of High-explosive Crystal Missiles erupted with fiery blaze, swiftly engulfing the tumbling Pollution Beast.
Boom Boom Boom!! The intense explosion lit up the heavens and Earth, and at the same time, the Mecha’s chest power reactor gathered energy.
Boom!
A two-meter diameter white-hot Energy Cannon roared, piercing through the head of the Pollution Beast amidst the center of the explosion, and then ploughing a thousand-meter-long, ten-meter-wide Destruction Tunnel into the ground behind it.
Observing the enormous Pollution Beast corpse lying in the distance, Gabriella, at the peak of the Sixth Layer, remained calm in her pilot seat.
“All dangerous targets have been eliminated. Auxiliary systems activated. Begin Lightwave Scanning, Image Scanning, and Energy Wave Tracking Radar initiated…”
“Beep Beep! Special energy fluctuation detected, target locked.”
Under the auxiliary system’s scan, the Mecha detected weak energy fluctuations several hundred meters away beneath the ruins, immediately rousing Gabriella’s spirit.
With heavy steps, the Black and White Mecha knocked down several walls more than ten meters high, arriving at the remains of what must have once been a luxurious mansion, now only a trace of its former glory.
The weak energy fluctuation was emitting from a Stone Tower, most of which was buried in the dirt, revealing only a corner on the surface.
With a thud, under the enormous palm of the Mecha, a ten-meter-high Stone Tower with a three-meter diameter base was forcefully uprooted, and as the dirt separated, some blurred runes became visible on the surface.
Inside the Mecha, Gabriella’s face broke into a smile: “Finally found something useful, but I wonder what purpose this Stone Tower serves.”
Elsewhere in the ruins, the four limbs of a thirty-plus-meter Pollution Creature had been severed, and its body was nailed to the Earth with more than a dozen black pillars, each over ten meters long and half a meter thick, unable to move.
Beside it, a bespectacled blonde young man was holding a one-meter-long knife, emanating red radiance, and dissecting the creature’s body.
With a fervent expression, Brudos mused, “Such an unusual life form; despite being alive, its essence feels dead.”
“And their body’s Genetic Sequence has completely collapsed yet hasn’t turned into a pool of proteinaceous rotting meat, but rather grows in a bizarrely mutated manner…”
