Her mom and An Ze must have been waiting for her to come home for dinner. But she was doing a thing somewhere that would never occur to them. She was about to get washed and examined as a mistress.
An Ran felt a prickle in her nose and was about to weep. But she thought about her grandma who was lying on the sickbed and forced her tears back.
Did she have the conditions to talk about self-respect?
She took a bite of her lips and took off her clothes. Then she stepped into the bathtub.
An Ran showered twice in fear that she might not get clean enough and be detested by the haughty young master. Then she put on pajamas and walked out of the bathroom.
The bed was made. Ye Chengwei wasn’t there.
An Ran sat on the edge of the bed and waited for him. After a long time, someone knocked on the door. An Ran was startled to stand up like a rabbit.
Is he here?
Subconsciously, An Ran wrapped herself tightly in pajamas. She answered in a low voice, “Come in, please.”
But it was Sister Rong. She held a plate full of fruit and put it on the table with a smile. “Miss An, have some fruit first.”
She had known her surname.
“Thank you.” An Ran forced a smile. She couldn’t tell if she was disappointed or relieved.
“Call me if anything.” Sister Rong had put down the plate and was about to leave.
“Ok.”
But An Ran called her back just after Sister Rong had opened the door. “Sister…Rong, where is he?”
An Ran kept her voice down.
Sister Rong was still smiling. “Young Master is having a video meeting in the study.”
“Oh.” An Ran replied.
She ate two pieces of watermelon and felt extremely bored, so she opened the door and tiptoed downstairs. When she passed a room in the turning of the second floor, she heard an angry shout from it. And she was frightened to lean against the wall.
“You are good-for-nothing!” It’s Ye Chengwei shouting at them.
Clang. Something had dropped on the floor.
Can the elegant boy be so mad? An Ran couldn’t picture Ye Chengwei’s angry face. But she abandoned her idea of strolling in the “palace”.
She tiptoed back to the room and waited quietly at the bedside.

When An Ran opened her eyes again, she saw the beautiful red clouds across the window. It was like a beautiful painting.
Where am I? An Ran was at a loss. But soon she recalled her whereabouts.
Damn it. How could I fall asleep? She rolled out of the bed. A thin blanket fell off from her. Who has put it on? Sister Rong?
It must be her. The distinguished young master can’t care for others.
Is he still in the meeting?
An Ran opened the door and went downstairs. She paused at the study on the second floor and bent forward, trying to figure out if there was still his voice inside.
“Young Master is not in the study.” Sister Rong’s words startled her.
An Ran flushed and laughed as if she had been caught stealing. “Oh, well, where is he?”
Sister Rong smiled. “He’s in the swimming pool. He has asked you to come over after you wake up, Miss An.”
“Ok.” An Ran took a step and paused abruptly. She looked at her pajamas and Sister Rong hesitantly. “In this?”
“There’s no one else.”
“Oh.” An Ran flashed her a smile. “Sister Rong, thank you for covering me with the blanket.”
Sister Rong smiled. “It was Young Master. He didn’t wake you up as you were asleep.”
What? It was Ye Chengwei! An Ran was stunned. She didn’t expect him to have done so.
