Only You till the End - Chapter 40
Chapter 40: You Forgot to Take Your Medication, Sir?
Shen Chen closed the notepad and turned around when she finished drawing the map.
Right then, a bouquet followed by a chiseled, good-looking face appeared in front of her.
He handed the bouquet to Shen Chen and gave her a charming smile.
“Hi, pretty. I have been noticing you for a long time,” Tang Yan tried to chat her up.
Shen Chen stood on the spot with a fleeting sense of displeasure on her face.
“Are you sick?”
Tang Yan choked with rage.
He had made such a beautiful prologue, yet she thought he was sick.
His hands which held the bouquet stiffened, but he had not given up. He took a step forward. “Be my girlfriend.”
Shen Chen rolled her eyes at him as she shoved away the pungent roses.
“You are really sick.”
Tang Yan’s expression collapsed, as if he had plunged from heaven into hell before sinking into a pot of boiling oil and being burnt alive.
His confidence was gone.
As Shen Chen wanted to take her leave, he thought he might as well go all out.
He stretched out his hand to block her as he dumped the bouquet into the garbage bin on the side. He looked as charming as he could get.
“If you don’t like flowers, I can buy you as many diamonds as you want, so long as you like it.”
Flowers did not work, but diamonds should.
Which woman could resist his charm?
Shen Chen got hot under the collars. “Did you forget to take your medication, sir?”
She had no intention to ask such a question at first, but this guy seemed to be really sick.
He should have sought treatment immediately.
Tang Yan’s mouth twitched as he tried hard to remain calm in front of her.
But the various sweet talks that he had prepared beforehand suddenly vaporized from his mind; his mind went blank.
Mu Bai became worried because he was too far away to see their expressions and hear their conversation.
It was not until he saw Tang Yan binned the bouquet when he dashed over and pulled him back.
“Why stop me? Let me go!”
Tang Yan had gotten his knickers in a twist and was about to explode.
Mu Bai suppressed his voice. “Fine. You are really getting serious now!”
Tang Yan still did not what to give up, although getting snubbed.
He ignored Mu Bai and was prepared to make his third move.
Thinking the two men were lunatics, Shen Chen turned to leave.
But little did she expect as she turned around, her eyes met Mu Bai’s.
“Chen?”
Mu Bai swore that he had never been this nervous and unconfident in front of a woman.
Did they know each other?
Tang Yan broke out in a cold sweat and rolled his eyes at Mu Bai.
That damn fellow should have told him earlier to save him from making a fool of himself.
Meanwhile, Shen Chen stood on the spot, expressionless.
Mu Bai frowned. “Chen, I—”
“Shut up.”
Shen Chen looked cool, calm and collected without a hint of emotional fluctuation.
How could Mu Bai not say a word when she was so cold toward him? “Listen to me. I can explain. It’s not what you think.”
“I told you to shut up!”
Her voice turned colder, as if there was a layer of frost in her words.
“Having fun, eh?”
“You psychopath, Mu Bai!”
“Lunatic!”
She turned and left, absolutely apathetic.
While Mu Bai was transfixed on the spot, Tang Yan was recollecting what the two had said.
Only when the petite figure was out of sight, he began to speak.
“Young Master Mu.”
“Who is she?”
“Why was she so angry?”
“She said you are a psychopath?”
“A lunatic?”
“Did you kill her entire family?”
Mu Bai said nothing as his face became expressionless.
He finally blew his top after Tang Yan pursued him with more questions.
“You stupid, Tang Yan!”
He swung his fist at him, literally pulling no punches.
Tang Yan was quick to react and dodge his lethal attack.
Mu Bai’s overreaction had given him the crucial clue and suddenly, he came to light.
“Is she your ex whom you have always wanted to reconcile with?”
