Chapter 35 First Dungeon BOSS Kill!
The reason why Chen’an wanted to spar with Han Ya was so he could fight monsters. After his last punch, he had taken a moment to check the system notifications.
(Your rapid improvement has wounded the self-esteem of Kickboxing Weakling Wei Sheng. His current Lifeblood: -20)
[Your rapid improvement has triggered the envy of Kickboxing Weakling Fei Shi, making her dizzy. Her current Lifeblood: -15]
(Your boxing attracted the attention of Kickboxing Fighter Yang Guifen, activating her skill: ogling you. However, you were too focused to notice her, making you immune to her advances and causing her attack to backfire onto her. Her current Lifeblood: -30]
Chen’an noticed that the healthbars of many of the trainees were no longer full. He wanted to spar with them-after he tried killing the dungeon BOSS: Han Ya!
He knew how the system worked; even something as simple as a scratch would cost him 1 drop of Lifeblood. Han Ya had 2,500 drops of Lifeblood, which meant it would only take 2,500 punches to kill her. If his speed and frequency increased, he could throw two punches per second-and kill her in 25 minutes at most!
Han Ya didn’t think too much about Chen’an’s request. She picked up two arm guards and put them on. “Sure, but I won’t stand still and let you hit me. Whether you can hit me or not depends on your footwork,” she said.
That would clearly take longer than if she just stood there and absorbed his attacks, but Chen’an had no choice.
“I’m going to attack, Master!”
He stepped forward and threw a straight punch at Han Ya’s arm guard.
Han Ya didn’t dodge, and his fist hit the center of his target firmly.

Chen’an became excited; the damage he inflicted had been higher than expected. However, his elation was short-lived as Han Ya effortlessly dodged his next punch.
“You make it too obvious that you’re moving in for a punch. I can dodge your attack easily. Remember, you have to be fast, accurate, and ruthless. You have to hit me like you mean
it!”
Chen’an nodded grimly and resumed his stance. He darted out with a few more punches.

The notifications continued to flood in as Chen’an kept striking at Han Ya. She made an attempt to dodge, but three in every five of his blows met their targets.
Of course, she was going easy on him; at his level, she could pinpoint the direction and timing of Chen’an’s punches before he even attacked. She hadn’t taught him how to kick properly yet, so he could only use his fists to attack.
Each punch only dealt damage worth 2 or 3 drops of Lifeblood, but the frequency of Chen’an’s attacks was increasing, and his fists found their targets more often than not, causing Han Ya’s healthbar to decrease steadily. The noise of their sparring attracted the attention of a few nearby trainees.
Half an hour flew by, and Chen’an was still punching away.
He was sweating and panting; his strength and speed had dropped sharply, reducing his damage to just 1 drop of Lifeblood per blow. It wasn’t the only sign that Chen’an’s body had reached its limit-he had skipped lunch, and he was tired and hungry. Han Ya only had 158 drops of Lifeblood left.
If not for the fact that her health automatically restored itself, she would have fallen victim to Chen’an’s attacks long ago!
Seeing that Chen’an was panting from exhaustion, Han Ya placed a hand on his shoulder in concern. “Why don’t you take a break?” she asked. “This workout might be a bit too long and strenuous for your current level.”
[Attention! Kickboxing Goddess is about to leave the battle, after which she will enter a ‘recovery’ state. In this state, she will recover 10% of her Lifeblood every second until her healthbar is full.)
Oh, for crying out loud.
What a way to crap on his almost-victory.
Chen’an was anxious. Just as he was scanning his inventory for usable items, an idea struck him. He immediately opened the system store and bought three bottles of mini energy potions without looking at them closely.
[Mini Energy Potion: Available at Level 1. Allows you to recover 30 points of energy in 10 seconds.]
He still did not understand what an energy point was, but if he took it literally, it should be able to replenish his stamina, to some extent.
The way middle-aged men could dominate the battlefield in the day but feel sleepy after returning to their wives at night was a sign of mental and physical inadequacy. With that in mind, he quickly used a mini energy potion in his inventory.
After consuming a mini energy potion, Chen’an’s mental state recovered at a noticeable rate. And he was right-his stamina had improved!
The discovery made his spirits soar.
He swiftly rejected Han Ya’s offer. “Don’t worry, Master. I’ll be fine!”
Han Ya resumed her stance, doubtful that Chen’an could muster much strength in this state. In the next instant, he struck out with a powerful blow, and her skepticism vanished.
As it turned out: yes, he did still have the strength!
She was a little speechless. In her mind, with Chen’an’s stamina, he would have to rest for at least half an hour after such a long period of exertion. However, after just a few breaths, he had been able to unleash such a powerful attack again.
His rate of recovery was astounding!
She contemplated all this while absorbing Chen’an’s stream of punches. The frequency of his attacks was as fast as ever, without compromising too much on power.
Chen’an had lost count of how many blows he had landed. He only knew that Han Ya’s health bar was close to being depleted.
If he persisted a little longer, he would be able to defeat the dungeon BOSS!
With one final punch, the healthbar above Han Ya’s head vanished.
In the next second, the system swarmed him with notifications.
